First Impression Out Of The Box:

What we have here is some typical Asmodus packaging. The box is blue and black with a plastic window in it so you can see the beautiful Zesthia tank sitting in the box. It’s in a foam insert with a felt-like cover on the left side of the box. On the right side of the box, you have a spare glass as well as some spare o’rings and hex screws. Underneath all the packaging is where you will find the paperwork for the Zesthia. There is also an included Allen key for your convenience.

I have to admit, when I first got this atomizer, I was a little surprised. I had no idea that Asmodus was developing a single coil RTA. First impression out of the box is, the machining and build quality is just stellar. They sent the blue one over for me to review and the color on it is just fantastic. I really do like the looks of this tank so far. Hopefully, it performs just as good as it looks.

What’s In The box:

  • 1x Zesthia RTA by asMODus
  • 2x Oni Fused Clapton coils (measuring in at approximately 0.3 each)
  • 1x Replacement glass tube (spare)
  • 1x Allen key
  • 1x Spare part pack
  • 1x User manual

From Top To Bottom:

The drip tip on the Zesthia is very comfortable. However, it is a proprietary drip tip that is wide bore and but it does taper down on the interior. I really wish Asmodus would just go with a straight-up Goon drip tip. There is no o-ring on the interior of the drip tip opening so even though Goon drip tips fit, they do not stay in place. This is basically a Goon drip tip with the o’rings on the drip tip. I just don’t understand why they can’t make a regular Goon drip tip opening? It would have made this atomizer so much better if I was able to use some of my aftermarket Goon drip tips. The good news is, Smok drip tips will fit in there but they will be a tad on the loose side. They are not loose enough to be unusable.

The drip tip opening leads to a rather narrow chimney opening. The chimney is quite narrow especially when you put it up against the wide bore drip tip. The top cap is buttery smooth and the machining is just top-notch. It doesn’t take a lot in order to get the top cap off. It’s like a half to three-quarters of a turn and you are ready to fill up your tank. Once the top cap is off, you will see two Tic-Tac shaped fill ports. They are wide enough to accommodate any juice bottle on the market today.

There is some knurling or texture around the fill port cap but it is very light and understated. The tension created between the base and the fill port cap is what holds your glass section in place. The glass section does hold 4.5 mls of juice and there is a spare included in the box. The narrow chimney is definitely built for flavor and it does lead down to a bell-shaped sort of barrel. The interior of the barrel has a really nice conical shape to it that is conducive to great flavor. The barrel is attached to a metal ring that screws into the base of the tank. All the threading on this atomizer is just buttery smooth and very well done.

Tha base has two cyclops style air slots on each side of the base. The AFC on it is very smooth and it has stoppers on both ends. Unfortunately, they did not include any knurling on the exterior of the AFC so adjusting the airflow can be a little tough sometimes because it’s smooth and not very grippy. I would have liked to have seen some knurling or some type of texture in order for the user to get a better grip when adjusting the AFC. On the bottom of the base, there is some Asmodus Zesthia branding. There is also a gold-plated 510 connection surrounded by stainless steel threading. The threading on the 510 connection is very smooth and the Zesthia has sat flush on every mod that I’ve used it on. The Zesthia is 24 mm is diameter so it will look great on most mods.

I wanted to take a minute and go over the finish of this product. I get a lot of stuff for review and most of the time, because I get stuff straight from the factory, I normally only get either stainless steel or black. This is especially true when it comes to atomizers. Most of the times after my review is published, the same company comes out with their atomizer in multiple colors. Asmodus sent me the blue one and I am just so impressed by the finish of it that I wanted to take some time to go over it here. The finish is almost like an anodized blue but that’s really not doing it justice. It’s sort of like the bluing you would find on a specialized rifle. It’s just extremely well done and it has held up beautifully in my UC. I have run this tank through the UC on multiple occasions and it looks just as good as the day I received it. I’m just really impressed with the finish and the quality of it.

The Deck:

Asmodus calls this deck their dual hot dog style deck. I’m not sure about all that but what I am sure about is it is extremely easy to build on. Basically, what we have here is a two-post, two-terminals-per-post design but it is a deck that is specifically built for single coils. You normally only get two terminals per post when you have a dual coil deck. That is not the case with the Asmodus Zesthia. The advantage of having two terminals per post in a single coil deck is it does not matter which way your coils are wrapped. Either way, you were going to be able to mount them in the Zesthia because of the two terminals per post. The terminals are controlled by hex screws that are gold plated and of very good quality. There is also a large wicking port that is very easy to use. Overall, it’s just a simple build deck and very easy to wick.

Building And Wicking:

The first thing you need to do is figure out which way you are going to mount your coil. Once you do that, all you have to do is loosen the two terminals that you are going to be using for each lead. The terminals allow you to slide your coil leads in from the sides and they do really well with flat wire. All you do is slide your leads in through the side and then tighten down the terminals. Once you have everything all tightened up, you take a coiling rod and position your coil so that it is nice and centered. You also want it to be as low as you can possibly go in order to take advantage of the superior flavor of the Zesthia tank.

Wicking is extremely straightforward but you may want to make sure you give your wicks a good comb out because the wicking port is rather large. If you’re not using at least a 2.5 mm ID coil, then you’re going to need to comb out your wicks a bit. Using a 3 mm coil, you really don’t need to do the comb out but anything lower is going to need a little bit of fluff in order to wick properly. As soon as you are all fluffed up, you are ready to cut your cotton. Cut your cotton so that it touches the bottom of the wicking port. Take your cotton and place it in there gently. Juice up your coil and wicks and put everything back together. Now, you are ready to fill up your tank and vape.

How Does It Vape:

Welcome to flavortown! You guys know that I’m a big single coil vaper. I like single coil atomizers. I just find them to be much more efficient and most of the time, I get better flavor off of them. This is definitely one of the better single coil tanks on the market right now. I get excellent flavor and it has that semi restrictive airflow that I really enjoy on a single coil tank. The airflow has a really nice range and it is really smooth. If you cut it down all the way, you can get a very restrictive lung hit. Almost to the point of being able to MTL but you really can’t MTL the Zethia tank. It’s definitely more of a DL tank. When I run it wide open, it’s what I would call a medium restrictive DL hit. The flavor on it is just fantastic and the clouds will absolutely surprise you, especially for a single coil tank.

What Would Have Made It Better:

  • Get Rid Of That Proprietary Drip Tip

Enough already with these proprietary drip tips. Nobody wants them. Everybody wants a Goon style drip tip with a 510 drip tip adapter. That is what people want on their atomizers. Why these companies insist on creating their own proprietary drip tipsn just baffles me. Why are you looking to reinvent the wheel, just roll with the one that’s out there. If you are going to insist on using a proprietary drip tip, you could at least include a 510 drip tip adapter for those of us that still like to run 510 drip tips. This is especially true for a single coil tank. Most people that run single coil tanks want to be able to cut down the airflow at the drip tip. By not including a 510 drip tip adapter, you are limiting our options. Enough already, stop with the proprietary drip tips!

I’ve been getting a ton of single coil tanks for review. I have a bunch of them in my queue right now and I have no problem telling you that the Asmodus Zesthia is definitely one of the better ones. It’s just an extremely well built tank that vapes phenomenally. It’s got awesome flavor and the cloud capability will absolutely shock you. I have been running this tank for well over a month now and I have a really tough time putting it aside in order to test other the single coil tanks I have. It’s really that good of a tank. This one is definitely DeucesJack approved for all you single coil lovers out there. Add a little zest to your single coil game by picking up a Zesthia.
