geekvape avocado 24

  • 5ml Tank Capacity*
  • Hinged Top Fill Mechanism
  • Adjustable Airflow
  • 510 Threaded
  • Great Flavor
  • Run in dual coil or single coil mode.

The Avocado 24 was built after the success of the Avocado 22. It now comes with a 5ml tank and features a new hinged top fill mechanism which swings open to display two 3mm diameter fill ports. Built to be used in conjunction with box mod platforms, the Avocado is currently being touted as the best tank of 2016 to date.

The Avocado is 24mm in width and 34mm in height. The two post velocity style deck section has two giant wick holes making it capable of taking big builds, even the largest clapton coils will fit comfortably here! Pay careful attention when removing the bottom 510 pin that the positive post doesn’t pop out and damage your coil.

The Avocado 24 comes with a multi tool, replacement ceramic block, extra 510 stainless steel drip tip, extra frosted glass tank, 510 drip tip adaptor, spare O-Rings and spare post screws.

*The Avocado 24 is sold as having a 5ml capacity, but once you have wicked your coil with cotton the capacity is closer to 4ml. By no means a deal breaker, but worth noting if that is one of the major selling points for you.

Kanger Subtank Mini V2 – $35.09

Kanger Subtank Mini V2 RBA RTA

Kanger’s Subtank Mini quickly became one of the most popular RBA tanks ever when it was released. It was known for its high capacity relative to its compact size, high build quality and high performance at an affordable price. Not to mention that it is one of the best looking RTAs ever released.

Now the new and improved version has been released. The biggest difference with the new Kangertech Subtank Mini V2 is the dual channel airflow control and improved RBA build deck. The RBA has much wider e-liquid channel holes and the holes are now located at the sides of the RBA instead of at the bottom.

The juice capacity is the same with a large 4.5 ml tank. The atomizer has vertical sub ohm OCC coils. 0.5 ohm and 1.2ohm coils are included. The coils use Japanese organic cotton and the unique square shape offers a larger heating area for a cleaner taste. The square design also improves life span.

The replacement coils which you can buy in packs of five are; 15 ohms Nickel coils, 0.5 ohm coils, and 1.5 ohm coils.

The innovative design and placement of the veritcal coils allow the Subtank to perform like a sub ohm dripper, this means huge vapor production and superior flavor.

The Kanger Subtank Mini V2 is designed to be as compatible as possible with mods, it has a 22mm diameter and a 510 connection.

SMOK TFV4 – $34.95

SMOK tfv4 tank

  • 5ml Tank
  • Massive Vapor Production
  • Great Flavor
  • 510 Threaded
  • Wattage Range: 40 – 140W
  • Hinged Top Fill System

The SMOK TFV4 comes with organic cotton, user manual, extra seal for your top cap, three additional O-rings, Philips head screwdriver, two SMOK vape bands, spare pyrex tank, triple (0.2ohm) and quad coil (0.15ohm) heads and dual and single coil heads for the rebuildable section.

The rebuildable section has four massive holes at the bottom for airflow and comes with a pre-installed horizontal coil. It comes with dual and single coil RBA heads as standard. The rebuildable section is massive and is easily one of the biggest on the market today.

Make sure to prime the coil before you assemble the rest of the tank. The organic cotton must be saturated with juice before you fill it or you will potentially burn the cotton and ruin the coil head.

The double layered drip tip pulls in both warm and cool air which creates a unique vaping experience. Juice can leak after filling the hinged top fill system if you aren’t careful. When refilling try and avoid getting juice on the seal to avoid this.

Most vapers find the 80 – 100w range to be best for flavor as higher wattages can often make the vapor feel too hot, but this really comes down to personal preference.

Geekvape Griffin 25 – $34.95

geekvape griffin 25

  • 6ml Tank Capacity*
  • Top Fill System
  • Adjustable Airflow
  • Great Flavor
  • 510 Threaded

Geekvape offer two version of the Griffin 25, both are identical except one version has adjustable airflow up top and the other doesn’t. We’re not entirely sure why Geekvape released the non adjustable version, but we suggest going with the adjustable airflow version as you can just close it off if you don’t want to use it.

The Griffin 25 has a two post Velocity deck section with side mount screws. At 17mm in diameter it is capable of taking almost any build you want, even a dual clapton build will fit comfortably. It also comes with a ceramic plug if you want to use it in single coil mode. Ensure that you remove the wick ring if you want to install the plug or it won’t fit correctly.

The Griffin 25 comes with a wide bore drip tip, replacement glass tube, 510 drip tip adapter, spare O-rings and post screws, multi tool and a ceramic block for single coil builds.

So the big question everyone is asking is why get the 25mm over the 22m version? As this is an article on the best rebuildables of 2016 we personally feel that the 25mm version is better simply because you have more room to build on. It also holds a bit over 6ml* of ejuice compared to the 3.5ml on the 22m version.

*The 25mm version is advertised as holding 6ml of ejuice, but it is really closer to 5.2ml.

An RBA is a rebuildable atomizer. RBA is an umbrella term that covers both types of rebuildable atomizer, RDAs and RTAs. An RDA is a rebuildable dripping atomizer (no tank), and an RTA is a rebuildable tank atomizer. RBAs have a deck where you can install your own coils or prebuilt coils.

Before you start to build your own RBA coils you need to make sure you have a thorough understanding of the relationships between ohms, volts, and watts. You will also need a multimeter which is a device to measure current, voltage, and resistance. Building atomizers without educating yourself first can lead to destroying your batteries or entire mod, physical harm as a result of the battery being compromised, or the battery going on fire.
