Coilart Mage V2 RTA Review

Alright, everyone! Welcome to the down low portion of this video. Today, we’re going to be going over the Coilart Mage RTA, version 2. There’s some social media branding on one side of the box, some Mage branding on the other. All the colors it’s available in. I have the gunmetal version and some specs. they’re 24 mm in diameter, 3.5 mls in capacity. On the back of the box, it’s going to show you- you get one Mage RTA, a bubble glass and an accessory bag. Here is your authenticity check, right here.

Let’s open this up and see what we got here. Here is your Coilart manual. Here is your QC certificate, spare parts bag with a spare 810 drip tip and some o-rings with some deck screws. Here is your bubble glass section. I like that it’s not glass and made out of plastic. Not that easy to break. I like that. You also get a hex key.

From Top To Bottom

And here is the RTA. I really gotta say, I’m diggin the looks of this thing. Liking that gunmetal with that knurling over here. I really like that 810 drip tip. Nice and big. Definitely keep the heat at bay. I like that gold ring around the base beautiful job on that. As you can see, no o-ring on there, the o-rings on the interior so all your other goon style drip tips will fit. Nice flat top cap.

In order to fill this, unscrew the top cap. It’s got some nice knurling on the edges and there are your big fill ports. Sorry for the juice and the condensation. They only sent me one so I had to clean this one up before I did this video. You can hear the threading real nice and smooth.

On the bottom side of the atomizer, we have some Mage branding, gold-plated 510 connection with an insulator ring around it. Stainless steel threading, very smooth and Designed by Coilart. On the base is where your air flow control is. This is a bottom airflow tank. You can see, stoppers on both ends. Weird kind of shape there, almost looks like a dog bone. Kind of weird or like a barbell. Whatever you do on one side happens on the other side.

In order to get to your deck, you give the base a twist and there is your deck. Let’s go over the inside of the barrel a little bit, though. You can see we do have a conical design in here. Threading here is very smooth. They did a nice job on this. I really do like this barrel section because it does produce really nice flavor. Let’s get rid of this straight glass and go with the bigger capacity bubble glass. You just pop it on like that to install. Problem is though, the o-ring isn’t that tight so if you do have to get to your deck and mess with your coil, just be very careful if you have juice in here, that you put it down carefully and you don’t hit it because it can come off and you’ll have juice all over the place.

Let’s look at the deck. Gold plated-deck, Kylin-esque type of deck. Got that like cheesegrater, cradle thing going on over there. Right over here, you can see, you have access to your deck screws, nice beefy. 1.5 millimeter hex screws. Threading around here is really nice. Your cotton wicks actually cover your deck screws which isn’t a big deal to me but I just wanted to point it out.

Let’s slap a build in it and I’ll show you how to wick it. Then we’ll go back on top and vape on it.

Coils I’m going to be using today are some Wotofo coils that I had in there, already. I like them so much I don’t want to change them because I’ve been getting some great flavor from them. So I’m just going to reinstall them just to show you guys how to build this thing. They’re already pre-cut. Basically, you just slap them in there like that. Don’t worry about coil placement yet. Put your finger on top of them and take your hex driver and tighten them down. Again, like I always tell you, don’t tighten them down like a maniac. Just give them, make them nice and hand tight. After we position them, we can tighten them down some more if we want to. But that’s one sides done. They’re going to move a little bit when you tighten them down. Same thing on the other side, get your hex key in there and make them hand tight. Same thing on this side.

Coilart Mage V2 RTA Review

One thing I will give Coilart credit for, they use some really nice grub screws. Definitely been enjoying these and you can see they moved a little bit. So now, what we’re going to do is we’re going to take our coiling rod. We’re going to get it in there and we’re going to move them above the airflow where we want them, just like that. Same thing on this side, move them around and get them as close to that airflow as you possibly can and try and get them nice and even. Once you’re done, it should look something like that. That’s just about perfect.

Let’s give them a quick pulse and make sure we’re in good shape here. Ohming out at 0.11. Seems we got some hot spots. There we go. Now we’re in great shape. Shout out to the wicking material we’re using today, Cotton Bacon Prime. I just like to take some cotton bacon. They come in these pre-cut strips like this, that are perfect for two coils. Give it a little twist, feed it right through your coil, just like that.

On this deck, you want to cut your cotton right where the black starts on the base or maybe even around the middle of the wicking terminal, right there. That’s where you want to cut it. Take the other side, give it a nice twist. Do the same exact thing, feed it right through. Cut it even with the other one. Same thing on this side, you want to measure it up right by that juice port slot and give it a snip and now you can cut your cotton the same length as this one. Now we’re ready to tuck our wicks in.

Coilart Mage V2 RTA Review

Whatever tool you use, take it and tuck your wicks gently in there. I like to use a dental pick. Some people use a screwdriver, the end of a scissors, the end of the tweezers, whatever you want. Just make sure you’re in there nice and gently. Create some space. You don’t want it too stuffed in there because you’re going to wind up getting dry hits. Same thing on the other side. Gently tuck those wicks in there. Same thing on this side. Once they’re in there and nice and fluffy, you’re ready to juice it up.

Juice we’re going to be using today is Shijin e juice, Dragon Cloud. Basically, a cinnamon roll with vanilla ice cream. Stuff is fantastic. So what you want to do is you just want to wet your coils up a little bit. Get them started. Maybe even get a little juice down below, there, just so they can get started. Then you just want to give it a little bit of a pulse. Get that juice flowing. There we go. We have vapor. Let’s put it all back together.

Let’s cut back on top. We’re going to vape on it. Talk about it, cons, pros and we’re out of here. See you back on top.

General Thoughts

Alright, everyone! We’re back on top with the Coilart Mage V2 RTA. Check it out, man. I’m telling you, I got it on top of the Squid Industries double-barrel. It just looks phenomenal on there. Loving the gold accenting. Machining is awesome on this thing. The knurling on the top cap and the AFC, top notch. I just love the looks of it. I can’t help it, smooth airflow and lots of it. You airflow hogs are going to love this thing. I love that cradle style deck with that honeycomb airflow. They did a nice job on that. You can just like tuck your coils in that little cradle and you get all that airflow from the bottom of the coil. Great job on that. Deck screws they use are kind of nice too, man. They’re nice and beefy. I’ve definitely been diggin them. I’ll tell you what, this is one of the best dual coil RTAs on the market, as of right now. No doubt about it. Flavor on it is just phenomenal cloud production is phenomenal.

Let’s get into the cons and pros. I really only got one con. The rest are all pros.

My one con with this RTA is the fact that it doesn’t come with two bubble glasses. Why do I want to run a straight glass with 3.5 mls of liquid when I could run a bubble glass all the time? I would just prefer if companies just gave me two bubble glasses. You know what, sell the straight glass as an accessory for the people who want to buy that. I have no use for straight glass when a bubble glass is made for that specific tank. So that’s the one con I’m going to give it.

Let’s get on to the pros.

First pro is going to be capacity. With the bubble glass, 5.5 ml capacity. Great job on that.

Love the deck. They did a great job on that, we’re going to give them a pro for that.

Coilart Mage V2 RTA Review

Flavor on this thing is fantastic. We’ll give them a pro for that.

Clouds on it, great as well, pro.

810 drip tip compatible, pro.

510 drip tip adapter, pro.

Build quality, the machining on this is top-notch. Love the knurling, they’ll get a pro on that.

Smooth airflow, I’m giving them a pro for that and it’s quiet. Yes, very quiet airflow, pro on that.

Price point, I think the price point for what you get and the quality of vape that you get off of this thing is very very fair.

I’m also going to give them a pro because it’s easy to build and wick. They’ll get a pro for that.

And the last pro is 24 millimeters looks good on most mods. I think it looks sick on the Squid Industries double barrel. We’ll give them a pro for that.

This one is DeucesJack approved. Just go pick yourself up one. You can thank me later. We’re going to have a link down below as to where you can pick up this awesome RTA. We’ll also have a link down below to the juice that I was using, Shijin Vapor Dragon Cloud. Basically, a cinnamon bun with like vanilla ice cream on it. Really, really nice type of vape. Goes great with a cup of coffee.
