Apollo E-Cigar Review

Updated on: 2017-10-31

If you use e cigars or if you are transitioning cigarette smoker and you want something with that sort of draw, this is definitely a worthwhile addition. It does go well with coffee types of beverages and I also found that it goes well with a good beer. For those types of beverages, the smokey types of juices do taste great and this device is no different.

Are you going to get the same type of taste you would get by putting a really good tobacco juice in a nice sub ohm tank? Of course not, and to expect this device to compete with that type of setup would not be fair. What it is good for is the type of vaper that is looking for a mellow sort of tobacco vape. The type of vaper that is not into sub ohming, yet they needs their Nic fix. For those vapers, this disposable device may be just the thing you are looking for.

The price point is absolutely fantastic. I believe Apollo sells them for under $15. I also know that they are running a special on the Apollo site where if you by 5 you get one for free. That would bring your cost average down to under $12.50 a cigar. Not bad for a disposable device that gives you 1500 puffs.

First Impression Out Of The Box

This is going to be a very quick review. What we have here is a disposable e-cigar. It’s a simple device that works very much like a Blu e-cigarette. The only difference is it’s in the form of a cigar. The E-Cigar by Apollo comes packaged in a box with an instruction booklet.

What’s In The Box

  • 1 Disposable Apollo E-Cigar

  • 1300mah battery
  • Up to 1500 puffs
  • Cuban cigar flavor
  • 18mg strength

From Top To Bottom

Pull the Apollo E-Cigar out of the box and the first thing you notice is the texture of it. It does kind of feel like a plastic version of a real cigar. The wrapper on it feels more like vinyl than an authentic wrapper that you would find on a normal cigar. It does have the look of a normal cigar wrapper but the texture is smooth just like vinyl.

On the tip of the mod, there is a small hole that you use to draw your vape through. The mod does have a cigarette type of drawer to it. There are no buttons on the cigar. This is a drawer-activated device. Locate a little further up from the draw hole, we have an Apollo cigar wrapper. The wrapper looks like one that you would find on a regular analog cigar. I guess it does give the device a little bit of an authentic look.

Apollo E-Cigar End

On the tip of the device opposite the draw hole, there is a piece that is supposed to look like the lit end of a cigar. From far away, I guess it could pass as the lit end of a cigar. Up close though, you can tell right away that this is not a real cigar. When you do draw on the device, the part that is supposed to replicate the ash of the cigar does light up. Kind of cheesy looking but I get what they were going for.

The Look, Feel, And General Aesthetics Of The Mod

For what this device is worth, it does have the look and feel of a cigar. It doesn’t have the same texture as a real cigar but it does have the same feel in the hand as far as the shape goes. If you were just holding the cigar in your hand, most people would probably think you do have a real cigar in your hand. Once you go to take a pull on it though, it’s very noticeable that you are indeed smoking on an e-cigar.

Apollo E-Cigar Feel

How Does It Vape

If E-Cigars are your thing, it actually vapes pretty good. It does have a very light cigar taste to it. I have found myself using it when I am having a cup of espresso or coffee. In that type of situation, the vape that you get does go well with those types of beverages. It does have that smoky kind of cigar taste but it doesn’t taste like a strong cigar. It tastes a lot more like a very light cigar.

While the flavor of the e-juice that they use in this device is fine, the clouds are a bit lacking. This thing does not produce the volume of clouds you would normally get even when compared to a normal cigar. It just seems to be on the anemic side when it comes to cloud production. I definitely would have enjoyed this device much more if it was just a bit more cloudier. The E-Cigar uses an 18 mg juice and it claims to have a Cuban cigar flavor. I have smoked a lot of Cuban cigars in my lifetime and most of the time, they are strong, yet smooth. The vape that you get off of this device is definitely smooth but it does lack the strength that is found in most Cuban cigars. It just lacks that strong tobacco kick that most good cigars have.

  • Good flavor
  • Disposable
  • Easy to use
  • No buttons
  • Flavor goes great with certain beverages
  • Nice, smooth, draw
  • Price point
  • Looks
  • Cloud production
