I think this mod vapes fantastic. I am actually a little annoyed at myself that it took me this long to acquire an Asmodus mod. That’s how much I am impressed by the performance of the Reborn. I plan on getting a Minikin V2 very soon so I can do a review here and make a good baseline comparison. I like the touchscreen on this mind. I think it’s well done and very easy to use. I love the vape quality, the finish, and the chipset. Basically, the Asmodus Reborn checks off all of the boxes for me. I can’t say enough good things about this mod and to be honest it is extremely hard to come up with cons for this mod. This mod comes with my highest DeucesJack approval. Go get one and you can thank me later.
How Does It Vape?
I have never owned an Asmodus mod before this one and I have to say that so far I am really impressed. This mod is an absolute beast in power mode. It ramps up a coil really quickly almost to the point that it feels like it’s a bit overpowered. I know that a lot of people complain about the TC on the Minikin line. You’ll hear people say that it’s not the greatest and that it’s very inconsistent. I’ve vaped this mod a lot in TC and I have to say that the temperature control is pretty serviceable on this mod. So, I don’t know if Asmodus tweaked this chip for TC before they released it but I have to say that I get a really decent TC Vape from it. No complaints at all so far.
I really like the way most of my tanks and atomizers look on this mod. So far this chipset has been able to vape anything that I throw at it. I’ve used exotic builds, simple builds, simple factory coils, and massive factory coils. All of them have performed extremely well on the Reborn. I even used a few mouth to lung tanks to see if it vaped well in low wattage situations and the Reborn came through with flying colors.
First Impression Out of the Box
Are you kidding me? Open the box and the paint job on this mod just hits you like a sledgehammer. This has got to be one of the best paint jobs I’ve ever seen on any box mod, bar none. Absolutely gorgeous!
What’s in the Box
- 1 Asmodus Minikin Reborn 168W Mod
- Instructional Manual
- Warranty Card
- Battery Safety Card
Not a lot in this box. Basically just the mod and the manual. However, I will say this- the instruction manual is extremely well done.
From Top to Bottom
Starting at the top of this mod,the 510 is probably one of the nicest ones I’ve ever seen on a mod. The stainless steel threading is just buttery smooth and the high polish of the base of the 510 completes the premium look of this mod. The pin itself is very springy and has a nice long throw to it. The connection for the 510 sits flush on the mod and all of my atomizers sit flush as well. The 510 will accommodate a 25mm atomizer with absolutely no overhang.
The battery door has a sort of rubber-like coating to it with a paint splash on it. It actually matches the mod extremely well and gives it that Vaporshark like feel. There is a half circle cutout that makes gripping the mod easy and it has an Asmodus emblem on it. The branding on this mod is very subtly done. The door is held into place by two really strong magnets. You will not get any door flex or rattle like you do with other cheaper C frame mods. The door is actually very solid and strong. You really have to give it a good strong pull to get it off.
Once the battery doors are off, you are greeted with a very clean looking battery sled. There are clear battery orientation markings on the sled and there is no annoying battery strap. Instead, Asmodus put a hole in the middle of the sled that you can poke your finger through to push the battery out. The top battery contracts are all spring loaded and the bottom contacts are button style and gold plated. There is venting on the bottom of the sled. You will see two strong rectangular shaped magnets on the sled that do a fantastic job of holding the battery door in place. I can get my batteries in and out of this mod very easily without tearing my wraps.
The Reborn is firmware upgradeable and the update charge port is on the side of the mod and it is vertically mounted. On the bottom of the mod, there is more battery ventilation. The only bad thing about the charge port is it only charges at 1 amp. While I do always recommend that you charge your batteries externally, it is a nice feature to have a 2 Amp charge port. Unfortunately, Asmodus did not include that type of charge port on this mod.
The paint on the Reborn is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of the paint jobs you find on custom made motorcycles. It has that thick, lush, wet, look to it. It has a shininess to it that makes it look like it was clear coated and might still be wet. This is without a doubt one of the best finishes I have ever seen on a mod. Being a reviewer, I come across all different types of mods and finishes so when I tell you that this is one of the best ones I’ve ever seen, you can believe it. The Reborn looks so good that you’re almost afraid to take it out and use it for fear of damaging this gorgeous paint job.
The Reborn has a large circular concave button that is very easy to find and very comfortable. The fire button is clicky and responsive. This mod was named the Reborn because basically what it is is the original, slightly wider, Minikin body with a Minikin V2 touch screen. So what they did was they kept the original shape of Minikin and added Minikin V2’s killer touch screen. There are no plus or minus buttons on the mod because everything is adjusted through the touch screen. The screen is very bright and vivid and easily readable in most lighting conditions.
The Look, Feel, and General Aesthetics of the Mod
If you’re a fan of C-frame mods, you’re going to love the way this mod feels in your hand. Because of the rubber coating, this mod has a very reassuring grip to it. It also has some nice heft to it. I’m not talking about being heavy for the sake of being heavy. I’m talking about that heft that you feel when you know you have a quality product in your hand. That’s the type of feel you get when you’re holding the Asmodus Reborn.
The Asmodus Reborn uses the Asmodus GX-168-HT chipset. This mod is capable of 168 Watts. It can fire down as low as .1 ohms and as high as 2.5 ohms. It has a full temperature control suite that will do all of the popular metals. It also has a TCR and TFR setting for some of your more custom wires. Basically, this is the same chip as the Minikin V2 but it’s in a Minikin V1 body. The chipset also has a curve mode that a lot of Asmodus fans really love. The mod gives you the ability to establish a wattage curve that is customized to what you like. You can adjust the wattage in steps and how long the mod will fire at those wattages thereby creating your own custom curve. In TC mode the Reborn is capable of 120 watts. The Reborn has a peak current output of 45 amps and a maximum output voltage of 7.5 volts. It has a temperature range that goes from 212 degrees Fahrenheit to 572 degrees Fahrenheit. It is available in black, green, and orange.

I tried to cover everything in this section but to be honest, there’s really not much to this menu system. It is a very simple and elegant menu system that is extremely intuitive. All you have to do to get to know the menu system is to just really play around with the mod. The menu system will come to you very naturally with this touch screen. One note I will include is the unlock feature of the screen does tend to work better when you slide your finger down the screen slowly.
