From Top To Bottom
Check that out. That’s kind of badass. This is supposed to be some type of wind god. I remember one of the first reviews I ever did was a CKS mod and this guy was on it. So that’s kind of cool, the way they did it. Also included in the kit, you get a spare drip tip, some spare o-rings, a spare coil. You get a Junior user manual, and you get a shorty charge cable.
Let’s take a closer look at the spare drip tip. Just a straight up 510 style drip tip. By the way, in the spare parts bag, you also get a spare plug for the pod. Now, let’s also take a look at the coil. This is the 0.6 ohm mesh coil, good for 17-24W. It’s got that spit-back protection thing in there. It’s just a regular mesh coil. The good news is, these are compatible with the Artery Pal 2 and so are their coils. So even if CKS stops making coils, you should be able to get Pal 2 coils mostly anywhere. That’s pretty good that they have some coil compatibility.
Let’s go over the mod real quick. CKS is known for doing their graphics. They really don’t do solid mods. This is kind of cool, I kind of like it. I do like the way it goes with the gold, that’s kind of neat. There is your airflow right there. There is that Wind God guy again like you saw before. You have a removable drip tip. This drip tip is a little bit more narrow bore, it’s a little thicker. I don’t know, they’re both comfortable. I don’t notice much of a difference in the airflow between the two. When you look at the two drip tips side by side, you can see, the one on my right is definitely a little fatter with a little wider bore. The one in the middle is more of a mouth-to-lung. It’s also a little skinnier around the lips. I’ve been using this one, so we’re going to put that one in there, right now.
Pop it in there, just like that. I actually think this one looks a little better as well. Over here, on this side of the mod, you have the fire button. This is your mode button, micro USB cable. These are your mode lights and this is your battery indicator light. Press the fire button. You can see I’m at green, that means I’m pretty much full. Right here, that’s the lowest setting, that’s the middle setting, that’s the hardest setting. I’ve been running it in the middle. I have no issues with that whatsoever. Does fire fast. Just a nice little kit so far. On the bottom here, you have this little fingernail tab. Just pop it open like that, and you can see, there is your pod door cover or whatever you want to call it. The door feels, I don’t know, definitely flexible, definitely has a plasticky feel to it.
Here is your pod, right here. Just pop it out, just like that. So far, I gotta say, this pod has been pretty dry. You got some CKS and junior branding in there as well. This pod has a 3ml capacity. We’ve all seen this type of setup before. There is your tab right there, you pick it up right there in order to fill it. The fill hole port is nice and big. You won’t have a problem displacing air. Once you’re done filling, you pop it in just like that. Here is your airflow, right here. It is adjustable airflow. In order to replace your coil, you unscrew this and you screw the coil into the base, and you screw the whole assembly back in. One thing I do like about this type of setup is if you do have to replace the coil with. Say you got 3 quarters of the tank, you can hold the tank this way. All the juice will flow down here and you can pull the coil out and replace it without making a mess. I do like that. I have been running this with the airflow wide open. I’ve also been running nic salts in this on the 0.6 ohm mesh coil. The same coil I showed you up close is the one in here. Nice capacity, 3ml capacity. I wish they had some type of sight glass cut out on the door here so I can see through it and see my liquid level. One of the cons is that you have to take the door off in order to see your liquid level. I don’t like that.
On the interior of the pod, you have 3 gold-plated contacts. They will make contacts with your airflow adjustment thing that I showed you. Like I said, so far, in here, everything has been pretty dry. No issues with leaking. You want to pod the pod in, you just pop it in just like so. You see that little light blink on there. Now your coil is making contact with the 3 gold-plated contacts. Slap your cover back on, pop your drip tip in there. Now you’re all ready to vape.
Alright, Insiders! Let’s talk about the cons and pros for the CKS Junior.
First pro is going to be, personally, I love the looks of this thing. I like the gold and white and I’m normally not a gold fan. I do like the graphic. I like that Wind God they put on there. It’s actually really nice. I just like the way it looks. I’m giving it a pro.
Build quality on this one, it’s nice.
Variable voltage, that’s a pro.
It’s got adjustable airflow with a great range.
You can get a middle-of-the-road DL hit or restrictive DL hit, let’s call it, to a really tight, legitimate mouth-to-lung hit. I like it. I like the range a lot. I think having a nice airflow range really helps a pod system excel because it opens it up to a wider spectrum of vapers. This one definitely has a nice range to it.
Really nice flavor and clouds on this one so far. Right now, I’m running a nic salt in it. I got in at the highest setting. Let me show you what we’re working with here. Not bad, not bad at all. Nice, saturated flavor. It’s a little warmer than most pods/AIO kit which I like. It’s got really nice flavor and the clouds are there especially for a pod AIO kit. Here we go again. Just nice, there’s no two ways about it.
I already touched on this one a little bit, it’s got a slightly warmer vape than most pods/AIOs but I want to chalk it up as an official pro.
It’s small, it’s pocketable, it’s an easy carry. You can throw this in a bag, front or back jeans pocket, inside jacket pocket, either way, you’re good to go.
45 minutes to charge from dead to full, that’s a huge pro.
2 drip tips included in the kit, I like that.
2 coils included in the kit. Both are the 0.6 ohm mesh coil. But at least they put two in. that’s a pro.
This one does well with nic salts or freebase juice. I gotta admit, on the 0.6 ohm mesh coil, i have no problem running nic salts, I actually enjoy them in here.
That’s it, Insiders. Those are my cons and pros for the CKS Junior.
First con is going to be and you can probably give this con across the whole CKS like. They’re kind of known for their graphics. They really don’t make solid color mods. They do all these graphics. They got this Wind God that they put on there all the time. In fact, I’ve always had a special place for CKS because they’re actually one of the first companies that ever sent me something for review, when I was writing reviews. I always liked that company. I always appreciated the fact that they gave me a shot. It’s not going to affect this review at all. But some people are just not into those graphics. Some people like simple, solid colors. If that’s your jam, there this is not going to be for you.
The other con is going to be, I’m a little surprised there is no mouth-to-lung coil in the kit. That’s definitely a con.
But that’s it on the cons. Let’s move on to the pros because we got some pros on this one.
I gotta say, this is a nice little AIO kit. I have no issues with it. It feels like it’s built well. It’s nice and light. It’s an easy carry. I get good flavor on the clouds. The only thing I wish, I wish they had more coil options for it. Hopefully, they’ll develop more for it. I think there’s another coil option out there. I think I saw it on the internet somewhere. But in this kit, you only get the 0.6 ohm coil, you get 2 of them. I would definitely like to try out the other coil available for it, all coils that are coming out, because this is one of the better pod systems on the market.
