Freemax Gemm Review

Updated on: 2019-10-18

How are you doing today, Insiders? DeucesJack at Today, we’re going to be going over the Freemax Gemm starter kit. I’ll tell you right off the jump, baby. This one’s a simple little flavor banger.

Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tagline on a shirt, or a hoodie.

From Top to Bottom

There is the stick mod and you get two disposable tanks. Yes, this tank has juice in it because I’ve been trying it out. So will you geniuses that are going to ask if your tank will come with juice in it no, it will not. But you are very clever. Let’s take a look at the stick mod itself. A little bit of Freemax branding over there. You can see, I got the white one. I don’t know if it’s showing up on camera but the paint is almost like a light pearl type of paint, like there’s a little bit of sparkle in it. Not a bad looking paint job at all, especially for a white mod. You got some Gemm branding over there. There’s your microUSB port right there. Here is your fire button with a mode indicator on it. That light is a mode indicator. On the bottom, we have some venting and on the top, we have what we would call a standard 510 connection. 510 has what I would call a short throw with a loose spring.

In order to turn this mod on, five clicks. You see the light go on. So now you press the button so you see the red light there. That means I’m in soft mode. Three clicks, see the yellow light? That means I’m in medium strength mode. Three more clicks, see the green light? That means I’m in strong mode.

The Tank

Let’s go over the tank real quick. This is a disposable tank. There is no way to open it up. The drip tip doesn’t come off. It’s all it really has is adjustable air flow. The tension on the adjustable air flow is actually decent. Whatever you adjust on one happens on the other. There’s your Freemax coil inside. There is your plug right there. You lift it up, you pop it open. Decent sized fill port. You fill it right up. Now, if you want to prime these coils, it’s a little bit of a reach but you and can prime them down the middle. Put a few drops down there if you choose to do so. If not, just fill it up. Give it a few dry poles and let that juice sit for a good 5-10 minutes so it soaks up that big coil in there.

Non removable drip tip, it’s comfortable. It’s tall enough. There’s nothing wrong with it but it’s a disposable tank so it doesn’t come off. Now, you can see on the bottom here, I have the G2 mesh coil, 0.2ohms good for 40-80W, gold-plated 510, insulator ring around it, stainless steel threading around that. I do like this coil, I’ve been vaping it. It’s a very good coil. The tank itself has a lot of air flow. I’ve been running it with that amount of air flow open right there. See that? See that right there? That’s the amount of airflow I’ve been using. I haven’t been running it wide open because it’s just got gobs and gobs of airflow.

The second tank that comes in the kit has all the same features, just a different coil. On the bottom here, you can see, this is the G1 coil, 0.15 ohms, good for 40-80W. So this is a little bit of a different coil. Look, down the middle, it’s a single mesh coil. We’ve all seen this coil before, it does vape really nicely.

I got sent this as a second package. These tanks do not come in the kit. It was a little confusing at first because this is named the G2 tank as well. Pop this thing open, you get two in a pack. And now let me zoom in so I can show you what I’m talking about. This is a G2 tank as well. It’s a 0.5ohm but it’s only good for 20-30W. And I find that kind of interesting that they made this tank because when I showed you two color coding, though, the soft the medium and the strong, the red yellow and green, it says in the manual that it’s 40, 60 and 80W. So the red is 40W, the yellow is 60W, the green is 80W. So if this coil only maxes out at 30W, how you’re going to be running it at 40W? I don’t know. It looks like a big coil. I’m sure it can probably handle that. But what they should have done, they should have banged out the specs if it can handle that. So just keep that in mind.

There is another coil and there’s a few other disposable tanks as well. I’ll probably list them in the specs. But so far, I’ve shown you three. I think there’s six but I’ll list them all in the specs for you.

So that’s it, really not a lot to go over. Here it is all put together. So there you have it, Insiders. Let’s get into those cons and pros.

First con’s going to be, it’s got a disposable tank. I know some people aren’t going to like that. Me, I don’t give a shit if it’s disposable or not. It really doesn’t matter to me. But some people get all uppity about that kind of stuff and the waste that it causes. If that’s you, it’s going to be a con for you.

This one kind of takes a long time to charge from dead to full. I wish it charged a little faster. That’s going to be a con.

No reset button. You’re going to do an internal battery mod, you have to have one of those hidden reset buttons where you take like a paperclip and you pop it in there, you can reset the mod. God forbid something goes wrong, this doesn’t have it. It’s a con.

And the last con’s going to be a con I give to every internal battery mod. It’s the nature of the beast, sooner or later, you’re going to cycle through this battery and you’re going to have to chuck the mod. So I just like to make my subs aware of that when it comes to an internal battery mod.

But that’s it on the cons. Nothing too crazy. Let’s go on with the pros.

First pro’s going to be, you get variable wattage on this thing, 40, 60 or 80. You basically have a low, medium, or high setting. I like that. I like choices. That’s a pro.

It’s simple to use.

It’s an easy carry. It’s just a stick mod, baby.

Good battery life.

So far, I’m getting really nice flavor and clouds. This vapes exactly like you’d expect a Freemax tank to vape. Let’s check it out. Let me show you what I’m working with here. I got the 0.15ohm mesh coil at the highest setting. Check it out, not bad. Nice cloud production. Now that’s a little too airy for me. I cut it down a little more than halfway and I tend to get more heat that way. Clouds definitely a little thicker, a little more saturated, a little warmer. I kind of like it that way.

This thing’s got a ton of airflow and that’s a pro for you airflow hogs.

It’s also got some smooth airflow so we’ll chalk that up as a pro as well.

I’ll give it a pro because for a starter kit, it does approach a certain amount of warmth in the vape, especially if you cut down the airflow that I haven’t seen on other starter kits. In other words, I like a warm vape. I can get by with this kit. I can’t say that about other kits. I like the warmth that I’m getting off of it. It’s not as warm as I really enjoy it but it’s enough to get by for someone like me.

So far, I got to give them props on coil longevity. That’s going to depend on the juice you use, whether you use a juice with a lot of sweetener or not. But I’m on like my 11th fill up on this thing already and look, there’s no significant loss of clouds or flavor. So that’s a pro.

That’s it, Insiders. Those are my cons and pros. Let’s talk about this one a little bit.

The only thing I can say about this is it’s a great simple little starter kit that vapes exactly like you’d expect a Freemax tank to vape. Freemax makes some of the best sub ohm tanks in the business, there’s no doubt about it. You want to know something? Their disposable is no different. This is one of the best disposables I’ve ever vaped on, bar none. The other thing I really like about this kit is I think, for the vape quality that you get and the build quality that you get on it, it’s a real steal at around 25 bucks. I think the bang for the buck value on this kit is definitely there. It’s one of those great types of beater kits that you could take with you when you go to the local bar or if you go fishing or something like that. You don’t care if it falls in the water or you leave it at the bar in a drunken stupor. So if you’re looking for a kit like that, definitely check out the link down below.

Big shout out to Freemax for sending this one my way for the review. Definitely appreciate the support of the channel.

Let’s go over some of the specs on the Freemax Gemm 80W starter kit. It measures in at 131.65mm x 25mm. It has a 2,900 mAh battery. Three power settings are 40W, 60W and 80W. It will fire down 2.1ohm. It’s made primarily of zinc alloy. It has an LED battery indicator. When it’s green, you’re between 65 and 100 percent. When it’s yellow, you’re between 30 and 45 percent. And when it’s red you’re below 30 percent. Protections include overtime, overcharge, overheat, overload, and short-circuit protection. You get two disposable tanks in the kit, 0.15 ohm, G1 mesh coil, good for 40-80W. You also get a 0.2ohm, G2 mesh tank good for 40-80W. There are other disposable tank options available as well. There’s a G4 mesh tank, ohming out at 0.15ohms, good for 40-80W. There’s a G3 mesh tank, ohming out at 0.15, good for 50-90W and there’s also a G1 stainless steel 316 tank, good for temperature control. They are all separate purchases.

Thanks for watching the video, Insiders. Definitely appreciate it. Remember, we’re not a monetized channel so we’d appreciate it if you check out our new merch store. You can get my tagline on a shirt like you see me wearing, or you can get it on a hoodie as well. We have some other great designs that you can put on a t-shirt or hoodie. Here’s another one of them, Vape King shirt and here’s one of my personal favorites, Vape So Hard That FDA Wanna Fine Me. Go over to our new store and check it out.

That’s it, Insiders. That’s all I got for you today. It’s more important now than ever that you fight for your right to vape. Please call your local politicians, call your governor, call the White House and tell them you vape and you vote and you will not support anyone that supports any type of ban on vaping. It’s important in order for us to keep living that vape life. Deuces.
