H Cigar VT Inbox DNA 75 Squonk Mod Review

Updated on: 2018-06-01

First Impression out of the Box

What’s up, everybody? Deuces Jack at Yes, I am back with another review for you. I have the Hcigar VT Inbox DNA 75. That’s right, this has got the OG DNA 75. Not the color version, but who cares, we know it does great TC, we know it’s accurate in power mode, because it’s an awesome chipset.

It’s a single 18650 device. We got replaceable panels. Extra squonk bottle with a cap, great job on that. This one is directly from Element Vape for the purposes of this review, check them out in the links down below.

We’re going to cut down low real quick. We’re going to go over everything. We’ll cut back on top. We’re going to talk about it a little bit, cons, pros, out of here. See you down low.

What’s In The Box

Hcigar VT Inbox DNA 75 Squonk Mod Review

Alright, everyone, welcome to the up-close portion of this video. We’re going to be checking out the VT Inbox squonk mod by H Cigar. Here is the packaging, color labeled, title of the actual box, H Cigar bar code, some H Cigar branding, some more H Cigar branding. On the back, you will notice we have a VT Inbox with an evolved DNA 75 chipset in it. Good for 1 to 75 watts. Also, going to be a USB cable, and a warranty card.

Let’s open this up, and see what we have here. File that box to the side, top of the box to the side. We have some type of paperwork here, some type of card about Facebook, file that to the side. Here is the squonk mod manual, get rid of that. Warranty card, get rid of that.

Inside the box of goodies here, let’s see what we have, oh nice. We have an extra squonk bottle with a cap for traveling. I like that. Very nicely done, H Cigar. Only bad thing about it though, it feels plastic-y, doesn’t feel the worst but it’s not – it doesn’t feel as nice as silicone.

Let’s see what kind of cable we have in here, nice white USB cable. Looks like a decent one. Let’s file that to the side. And here we go.

From Top To Bottom

Here is the actual mod. What we have here is a stainless steel plate, two hex screws holding it on. Painted top cap right there, spring-loaded 510 but extremely stiff. That’s the case on most squonkers, they’re usually pretty stiff for some reason. Threading around here is very smooth. Haven’t had any issues with any atomizes. I like the fact that they almost centered it pretty good. I like that. That it’s kicked far back a little bit. I’m really diggin that, to be honest with you.

Here’s the front of the mod. We have some button, a fire button here with two LEDs in it, square in shape. Nice clicky feel to it, nice clicky tactile fee. Now we have two square buttons, your up and down buttons and a micro USB port, that is good for charging and updates.

Quick tour around the mod. I don’t know exactly what that’s supposed to be. Is that some type of Thor guy with like a spear in his hand, I have no idea. It’s alright looking. I like the paint on the edges here. A little bit of VT Inbox branding here, some venting over here.

This side – I have no idea what that is. I don’t know. Some guy with red flaming hair what another guy coming out of him, I don’t know. I guess it’s you know supposed to be some type of mystic looking thing. I would have rather it’s something more plain.

Let’s go over the insides. First, I’ll show you the back panel. You can see the back panel comes off. A little bit of H Cigar branding in there. Four magnets holding the door in place that coincide with four magnets on the actual plate inside. This is your push through for your battery. You can see that there’s no battery strap, you gotta push it through in order to get your battery out.

Nice squonk hole over here. I do wish it was slightly bigger, same thing on this side. Instead of four magnets, we have two, four, six, over here. I do wish the magnets were a little stronger. I think these panels are kind of weak. I would have liked to have seen some stronger magnets. Please excuse the condensation, I cleaned it out before the review.

Battery tray is held in place by four hex screws. One in each corner over. Here we have a spring-loaded battery contact for your positive contact. A little bit of H Cigar branding over here. Negative battery orientation over here. Button style contact on the bottom.

Here’s some board venting over here and a little bit of VT Inbox branding. As far as the bottle goes, the bottle is, I don’t know, man, it’s squishy. It’s got a nice squishy feel to it but I would have rather a silicon bottle. This is a huge tube, it’s not a proprietary – it is a proprietary tube, I’m sorry, it’s one of these big wide ones. I don’t even know if it actually comes off. I’ve tried to pull it off but since this is the only one I have, I didn’t want to break it, so when I load this thing up I’ve been kind of loading it up like this, holding the tube out here, putting it in the bottle, and then shoving the bottle in, but that tube, man. That’s a huge tube. I really wish they wouldn’t have went with a proprietary bottle and tube. That’s definitely a con in my book even though they do work well.

So let’s fill this thing up. Let me show you how it works. Today we’re going to be using Joey Vape Blackcurrant and Lime. Man, if you want a summer vape, something that’s real refreshing, check this thing out, because wow they do a great job on this. They really do. I’ve been rocking this juice for a while now and I like it. Just do a really really nice job.

So you just basically squirt your juice into the bottle, like you would any other squonk bottle. I normally go up to the third line right here and leave some room for displacement of liquid when I put this tube in. I take the tube, I kind of scooch it out with my thumb, I shove it in there, and then I put it up to the bottle, like so. Now in order to get your batteries in, its positive side up, put the positive side in first, and there you go. Your batteries are now in. So pretty simple pretty straightforward.

Let’s put this the squonk cover on and now, we’ll put the back cover on. Now that we have the juice and the battery in this thing, let’s zoom in a little bit.

General Thoughts

We’re back on top with the H Cigar VT Inbox squonk mod. Really nice, man. I like this thing. I love the chipset. DNA 75, I don’t care if it’s the OG one, it’s a very competent chipset. you notice the clouds, check it out, man. I got the Wotofo Recurve by Mike Vape sitting on top, yeah, man, that thing’s cloudy for a single coil, but perfect for a single 18650 squonk mod.

I really like this man. There’s a couple of things that, you know, H Cigar could have done a little better. One of those is the proprietary bottle and that proprietary tube that doesn’t come off. Ridiculous design. I don’t know what H Cigar was thinking of with that. I just don’t like that. They did a good job on the panel. The panels really don’t have a lot of play in them, they’re cut really nice, but those magnets on the back, man. H Cigar, what the hell were you thinking? They’re tiny little magnets, you need bigger magnets than that. Come on man. The thing slides around. If you stick your finger in there, and it gets stuck, the panel comes off because the magnets are weak as hell. Bad job on the magnets. Those are really my only two complaints about it. But we’re going to get into it.

Let’s do the official cons and pros. We already went over to magnets, they suck. That’s a con. Proprietary tube, proprietary bottle that sucks. That’s a con. The panel’s, you know, I’m not going to give them a con on them coming off because I think it’s due to the magnet. So we’ll let that one pass.

Another thing that bothers me about this thing man, the presets. I mean, yes, I understand, it’s a DNA 75, you can go on to Escribe and change all the presets any way you want, fully customizable – the chipset. That’s great, but to come from the factory with like four or five nickel presets, I don’t even know anybody that vapes on nickel. I vape stainless steel. That’s a bad job, H Cigar, fix that from the factory. Come up with your own presets, put them on there. Make it seem like you actually care about the people, the consumers that are buying your product.

The other con I’m going to give it and it’s probably because of the magnets, is this squonk hole is a little bit on the small side and if your fingernail gets caught up in there that panel comes off. They should have either made this a little bigger or just put stronger magnets on the panels. But that’s it for the cons nothing that really affects the vape quality of this device.

Let’s get into the pros because there’s quite a few pros. First pro is going to be capacity. 8ml capacity. Great job. Like that.

I like the extra bottle with a cap, that’s going to be a pro.

Great chipset – that’s going to be a pro. Great TC – that’ll be a pro.

Accurate in power mode – will give them a pro for that. Fully customizable chipset with Escribe. Escribe always gets a pro on this channel. They just do TC and wattage mode right.

I’m going to give them a pro on the small form-factor. This little thing holds eight mills. Great job on that. Nice form factor – I like it.

Let’s give them a pro on the fact that it holds 24 millimeter atomizers without any overhang. That’s a pro.

The last Pro I’m going to give them is the fact that you can buy different doors and customize your mod the way you want. You can basically rock a different mod every day if you buy enough doors. By seven doors, you got seven different mods. For every day of the week. That’s going to be a pro.
