I got to admit. I actually think this might be Mike Vapes’ best RTA yet. I love this thing. To me, it’s one of the dual coil RTAs of the year. If you’re looking for something with banging flavor and great clouds with a nice restrictive direct-lung hit, definitely go check this one out. This one is DeucesJack approved
Alright, Insiders! Today we got the Hellvape Rebirth RTA. This one is a collaboration between of course, Hellvape and Mike Vapes who is a very popular YouTube reviewer. I’m going to tell you right off the jump. This is one of my favorite dual coil RTAs of the year so far. I just think it’s a fantastic RTA. It’s just a damn shame that I was so late with this review because Hellvape insist on holding a grudge against me for my Dead Rabbit review. They just won’t send me anything so I had to get this sent by a vendor. Make sure you check out the link down below. Check out Element Vapes, they’re the ones who sent this to me for this review.
Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tagline on a shirt, or a hoddie.
What’s In The Box
Also included in the packaging, you get a bunch of spare o-rings, some spare flathead deck screws, a 510 drip tip adaptor which I really like, that’s a nice touch. You get this coil cutting tool, you get a spare drip tip that we’ll go over in a little more detail in a second. The stock glass is the straight glass that I showed you when I opened the box but you also get a bubble glass and you get a rather nice flathead screwdriver, a little mini screwdriver.
Let’s take a closer look at the secondary drip tip that you get. This is like a frosted ultem type of drip tip. I’ll be honest with you, man. I like the stock one a lot better. Let me show it to you next to each other. They’re almost the same, actually. Same dimensions, I just like the looks of this one better, I definitely do. It’s also maybe a little wider when you put them up against each other like this. This one has a little bit of a larger outer diameter. They basically function the same. I just like the looks of this one better.
From Top To Bottom
Let’s take a quick run around the RTA. See a little Rebirth branding over there. I don’t mind it because it’s gold on gold and very, very subtle. Nice job on that, Mike Vapes. I like reviewers that understand subtle branding is the way to go. Nice 810 goon style drip tip. See, it’s got that honeycomb thing, that snakeskin thing going on. Very, very comfortable, all your other goons will have no issues fitting in there. Nice job on that. In order to access your top fill port top, in order to get the top cap off, a little quarter of a twist, and look at that thing, pops right off. Excuse the condensation, I just washed the tank. You can see, you got a nice, big o-ring in there, keeping the juice at bay. There are your cuts from the quarter of a turn, definitely like that.
Moving on to the top fill port top, there’s your cut for a quarter of a turn. Nice, big fill ports, recessed. Nice wide bore chimney so you can get maximum flavor. Just a really nice job on the machining overall. Once you fill it up, you just kind of slide this till it catches and then a quarter of a turn, and you’re all tightened down. I do have the straight glass installed, we are going to swap it out for the bubble after I show you everything that comes in the packaging.
Dual airflow on the bottom, stoppers on both ends, whatever you do on one, of course, happens on the other. On the bottom there, you can see Mike Vapes Rebirth RTA, Hellvape branding, gold-plated 510, insulator ring around it, stainless steel gold-plated threading around that.
Now in order to get to your deck, like every other atomizer, you just pop this thing open and give it a turn. Let’s go over this barrel section. Nice threading on the barrel section. You can see, there’s a conical design on the inside. They definitely made an attempt to condense this as much as he could in order to maximize the flavor. Let’s pop this straight glass off and let’s pop on the bubble. We’ll get back to that in a minute.
Let’s go over the deck because the deck is very interesting. You got these offset posts, huge post holes, two posts, one-terminal-per-post so your leads have to share space. This is your honeycomb airflow over here and over here, nice and smooth. I do like that. Here are your wicking ports. You can see, it’s almost like the GTA style deck with the ring around it, though, in order to guide your wicks in there.
You do have flathead post screws which I think is a con, especially on a deck like this where you’re putting two leads in there, you want some more torph. I think you would have been better off with philips head or hex keys. In general, I don’t like flathead screws. I think there’s very few applications where they’re better than Phillips or hex screws, in my opinion.
So the first thing you want to do in order to get started to build this thing, you take your coils, put them inside the coil cutting tool just like that, turn it upside down, grab your wire cutter and just give it a snip. Same thing on the second leg, give it a snip and now your coil is at the perfect length. Repeat that process with the second coil, and now we’re ready to start building. Pretty easy to build in this one, man. Not hard at all. All you do, take your leads, pop them in there just like that. Do the same thing for the other coil. Sometimes, the last leg is a little bit of a pain to get in but not a big deal. Kind of finagle them in there and pop them down, just like that. They look a little janky right now, don’t worry about that, we’re going to fix that. First thing you want to do, hold your finger down, make sure they’re both being pushed into the terminals. Take your screwdriver while you’re holding them down and tighten them down. Nice and snug. See that? Just like so. You saw those coils pop up a little bit, right? You want to push them down again with your finger. Keep your fingers there, fold it on there and then snug these down as well, just like that. Now that they’re all nice and secure, take your coiling tool, and bend that down right over that airflow, just like that. Same thing on the other side. Get you coil back in the joint and bend it down right over that airflow. When you’re done, your build should look something like that. Crazy, right?
You can see, I’m ohming out at 0.15. We’re going to pulse this coils, make sure we have no hot spots. Gentle pulsing, you don’t want to go crazy on these things. Just gently pulse them. You can see, we do have some hot spots that’s starting to work their way out. We’ll give them a little help, give them a little scrape. And now you can see, we’re glowing evenly from the inside out. That’s exactly the way you want it to look. Now you take whatever wicking material you use, give it a nice pinch on one side. Get it nice and pointy, and just send it right through. Make sure it’s nice and tight. You hear that? That’s how you want it, nice and tight.
Now we’re going to take our vape sheers and this is very important. You want to cut your wicks correctly here. What you want to do is you want to run your scissor along that outer ring that told them to cut in place. Just like that. Now, we’re going to make a point with the leftover cotton because we cut enough for two and we’re going to pull that through the second coil, just like that. Now what you can do is the side you cut already, you can use as a guide, likeso. And then, we’re going to take our scissor, we’re going to run it along that bottom part like we did the last time. See that? And we’re just going to give it a nice snip, just like that. You can see, this one looks a little off so we’re going to kind of even this one out a little bit, just like so. That’s it, man. Now, what you want to do is you want to make sure you keep your cotton separate and you just want to kind of tuck them in there, kind of dim that spot up, just like that. Same thing on this side, kind of tuck it in there. You don’t want to go crazy jamming it in. just want enough in there. See how nice and lose that is? That’s how you want it. See how nice and lose this one is and see how that cotton is just peeking out over there? Look at that. See? That’s how you want it. Same thing on the other side. Make sure you got no cotton on this range here and the same thing on this side. That’s how you want it. It’s got to be loose. Loose is the key. And that’s how you wick it up, just like that.
Juice It Up
Juice we’re going to be using today is Freeman juice 1885. You can see on the bottom here, it has the flavor profile, Vanilla Milkshake. You know what I’m getting off of this one? I’m getting a very vanilla taste but I’m also getting that malted milk sort of taste on it. It’s a nice juice. It’s not in your phase. It’s a little on the light side but if you like that malted milk type of shake, definitely check this one out.
Now what we’re going to do is we’re going to take our coils and we’re going to wet them up, get them started as we’d normally do. We’re going to take our vanilla milkshake, our 1885 and we’re just going to start wetting that cotton down and getting that coil, nice and juice. That’s how you want to get it flowing. And we’re going to probably give it a few test fires and make sure we got vape. So now we’re going to turn our Coil Master on. Shout out to the Coil Master. We’re going to make sure we got vape, and we’ve got vape, there we go.
Now we’re going to take our base section, we’re just going to pop it in there, just like that. Give it a little bit of a reverse thread. Make sure it captures, and now we’re going to screw everything back together. Make sure it’s nice and tight. Also good habit to get into, make sure that airflow is closed when you fill it. We’re going to pop that top cap off, we’re going to take our 1885, we’re going to give it a good squeeze, fill that whole tank up with some vanilla milkshake, fill that thing all the way to the top just like that. We’re going to pop out top cap back on, quarter of a turn. And now, let’s go back on top, let’s vape on this.
