What’s up, Insiders? DeucesJack at VapingInsider.com. Today, we’re going to be going over the Innokin Adept Zlide kit. This mod is a collaboration between Innokin, Phil Busardo and Dimitris, the VapinGreek. If you haven’t checked it out already, make sure you check out my interview with them at ECC. Let’s kick it down low. Let’s check this thing out.
Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tagline on a shirt or a hoodie.
From Top to Bottom
Here’s the slide tank. You can see, mine is like an aluminum type of blue. Some slide branding over there, you have some glass, you can see your juice level. You do have a lot of metal on this tank. So your tank is protected. That’s kind of neat. I like that blue drip tip, they did a nice job on that. Now, you’re going to notice on the drip tip, you see that little nipple right there? That little nipple is going to double as a locking system. So, in other words, when you pop this in there, it’s a 510 drip tip but it’s got that little nipple and now that little nipple is stopping you from sliding it open. You’re not going to be able to slide it open. In order to open the tank, you got to remove the drip tip and then it will slide open. So that’s a cool little feature. You guys know, I like locking top caps. I think a lot of companies should use that system. I think it’s a great system.
Nice big fill port right here. Plenty of room to displace air. Bullnose bottles make a little bit of a mess but every other type of bottle should be fine. Slide it shut, it’s got some nice resistance to it. I do like that. Once you slide it shut, you pop that drip tip in there and it’s all locked down. Nice job on that. Now, here’s your airflow over here. Now you can see, this is a mouth-to-lung kit. So this is not for chucking clouds. Those are really, really tiny airflow holes right there that you can cut down one by one. So just be aware of that. This is not a cloud chucking kit. This is a legit mouth-to-lung kit because that’s the type of vaping that Dimitris and Phil do.
On the bottom there, you can see it says Platform Series, designed by P. Busardo and the VapinGreek. You also see, you have a gold-plated 510, insulator ring, stainless steel threading around there. Now, in order to access your coil, this one works a little differently than most sub ohm tanks. You unscrew the space and the base, it could be a little smoother towards the end. It gets a little crunchy so I just want to point that out. It’s not terrible but it’s not the greatest either. Pop that off right and now this is what I was talking about when I said a plug-and-play coil. You just plug it in there. There’s no way to put it in wrong and there’s no screwing in. You just pop it in there, just like that. Now, one of the disadvantages of a tank like this is if you’re past that chimney and e-liquid with the tank upside down, you’re going to lose all your juice. You’re going to need a syringe to get that juice out of there, so just be aware of that.
Now here is the coil that comes pre-installed. This one’s good for 13-16W. You can see it says Kanthal. This is the 0.48ohm and it is a mesh coil. Very, very flavorful coil. Probably my favorite one out of the two. That other one is just too high for me. As far as resistance goes, I like this one a lot better. And here is the 1.6ohm coil, this is the spare coil. You can see, good for 10-14W. Got a little bit of a screen on top. Looks like a regular round wire build. That screen is to protect from spit back. You can see, it’s got this little platform on the bottom. This is a plug-and-play style coil.
So let’s juice this thing up. Juice we’re going to be using today is Nom Nom, Coconut Sticky Rice. If you have not tried this juice yet, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. Definitely check it out.
Now we’re going to take our Nom Nom Coconut Sticky Rice and we’re just going to put a drop. Right on the top there, just let it sink in, just like that, and maybe on your juice ports. A little bit here, just kind of paint them up. No need to go crazy because there’s not a lot of room to actually pre juice this coil. You’re probably better off just letting it sit in the tank full of juice. But you could put a few drops down here just to kind of get it started. Now, once you’re done with that, you can see those flat sides on the base there, make sure you’re flat sides line up with that and make sure it pops in all the way, just like so. Now we’re going to take our base section and we’re just going to give it a little reverse thread so it catches and pop it right on, just like that. Now that we’re all sealed up, if you want, you can shut the airflow down. Pull the drip tip out, slide that bad boy over and stick your juice bottle in there and give it a fill. Once it’s all filled up, slide your cap over. Put your drip tip in there and now you can see, we’re filled up with some delicious sticky rice. Let’s let this thing sit for a while and let’s go over the mod.
Quick little tour around it. A little funky looking. This is the sky version, I believe. On top, we got two star screws holding the top plate in place. We have a stainless steel plate over here, stainless steel threading around the interior and a gold-plated, spring-loaded 510 that I would say has a loose throw with a medium spring to it. Now, as far as the top plate goes, you can get some big atomizers on here but it’s really not going to make a difference because this is a low wattage mod so you’re not going to run big atomizers on it. So just keep that in mind. Now you have this rubberized coating over here. This is IP67, waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof. We’re going to do a water test in a minute. It’s got nice different textures. It’s got that silky rubbery feel to it, it’s just very well done. A little bit of subtle branding there, says Adept. There is your fire button right there. You have a simple screen over here and a mode button over here.
Five clicks, turns it on and you see, this mode button right here. One, two, three, four, four different settings. Now, here’s something very interesting on the bottom of the mod. These settings are for the above ohm coil. These settings are for the mesh coil. So in other words, when you’re on the first bar and you have the mesh coil in, you’re getting 14W. Second bar, 15W. Third bar, 16W. Fourth bar, 17W. And the same holds true for the other coil. You’ll respectively get 11, 12, 13, 14, depending on which bar you’re on. That’s kind of cool and simple. Now they also put an arrow on the screen. So if the arrow is pointing to the left, it’s automatically detecting the above ohm coil. If it’s pointing to the right, it’s automatically detecting the mesh coil. That’s kind of cool. And you can see here, clearly says 3,000 mAh hour battery installed. Over here, right here, this is your micro USB port. You kind of have to have some girly nails to get in there but that’s in keeping with the waterproof theme. Once you’re done charging it up, just slip that plug in there and make sure it’s nice and secure. God forbid, you do drop this thing in water, you’re okay. When you press the fire button, that’s your battery meter. Green means you’re at the highest.
So let me show you how this auto-detect works. You screw the atomizer on and you can see, the arrows pointing to the left because we did juice up the above ohm coil. Now if I’m at the first bar and I turn to the bottom of the mod, I’m at 11W. If I want to go as high as 14W, I just hit the mode button and go to the fourth bar. And that’s it. That’s exactly how it works.
Now, the only other con I have with this mod is look at this. See that? I’ll see that right there? See that? A little bit of movement. I don’t like that. I wish that wasn’t there. That’s definitely a QC issue. I got to point that out. Another problem I have with the tank is I don’t think it matches the mod well, I think they did a horrible job matching this tank to the mod. This is all like purplish blue or light blue and this is all like a different shade of blue. I don’t think it looks good together. But that’s just my opinion.
Wanted to give you a quick size comparison. I really didn’t have anything else to compare it to. It’s in. It’s an indestructible internal battery mod so I compared it to the Aegis Mini. The internal battery mod Aegis, you can see, the Adept is a little bit bigger. Basically the same height. Both of these, you can throw around. You can put them in water, nothing’s going to happen to them. Same type of mod, different types of vapes. This, you can put basically any sub ohm tank on here. On this one, this is a maximum of 17W. You can really only run the Innokin stuff on here so just be aware of that. But you can see, very, very similar as far as size goes.
Let’s do this waterproof test. You can see, it’s clearly on no jump cuts. Boom! Right in there. There’s water in there, you can see. See right there? It is on underwater, no issues. So believe, it’s sitting there a minute. Toss it around a little bit and you can see, it’s soaking wet. And it still works so it is waterproof.

Alright, Insiders. Let’s get into those cons and pros and you know I ain’t going to pull no punches.
First con is going to be, charging port on the bottom, pet peeve of mine, con.
Because of the menu and wattage limitations on this, you really can’t use any other tanks with it. Only Innokin tanks that are set up for this will really work. That’s a con.
My tank really doesn’t match. You saw it down, though, that blue is a totally different shade than anything else that’s on the mod. It just looks out of place. It doesn’t match well, con.
The tank, I showed it to you down low. It’s got a little bit of wiggle room, a little bit of play. That’s a con.
And the last con is going to be, while I love the plug-and-play coil system, if you have to service the coil with a full tank or a 3/4 full tank, you’re going to need a syringe to suck the juice out because if you pull the coil with three-quarters of a tank, you’re going to lose your juice. It’s a con.
That’s it on the cons, no real deal-breakers. Let’s move on to the pros.
First pro is going to be, it’s IP67 waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof. It’s basically bulletproof, baby. That’s a pro.
Awesome battery life. What do you expect when the match you’re going to run this thing is at 17W but you’ll get battery life for days on this thing.
Love that rubberized feel to it. It’s got a nice, soft touch to it. Silky smooth, but it still has some texture where you can get a good grip. It’s a pro.
Great fire button, clicky and tactile. I like it, pro.
This kit comes with the slide tank. It’s what I would consider probably the best factory coil mouth-to-lung sub ohm tank on the market right now, bar none. This thing just vapes great. I got the above ohm coil in it right now. I got it at the max setting. Check it out, just a really solid mouth-to-lung vape. You put a nice custard in here with a good cup of coffee. Oh, man. You’ll be loving life, believe me. Really, really nice sub ohm tank. Kudos to Phil and Dimitris for coming up with it. It’s a great tank.
This one’s simple. It’s easy to use. It’s great for a beginner that’s transitioning over from cigarettes. It’s also great for you die hard mouth-to-lungers. If you fall into any one of those categories, you’re going to love this kit.
The auto-detect feature on this mod where it auto-detects the coil that you’re using, it’s an awesome feature. It just makes things super simple. Great job, Innokin.
And the last pro is going to be, that drip tip locks the tank. I know some people find it annoying. I love it. I wish every slider cap locked. I hate slider caps that don’t lock. This one locks via the drip tip. Awesome job, Phil, Dimitris and Innokin.
So that’s it, Insiders! Those are my cons and pros. Let’s talk about this one a little bit.
Look, what can you say about this thing? It’s a super simple kit. It’s bulletproof, you can throw it in water, you can drop it, it’s dust proof. It’s great for a person that’s just getting off cigarettes or you die-hard mouth-to-lungers. That’s it in a nutshell. I like the drawer, I like the way it vapes, I like the coil system that it uses.
