What’s up, Insiders. I’m your man, DeucesJack. Today, we’re going to be going over the Lost Vape Lyra. Check that out. A little black and leather action going on there. This is one of those pod/AIO kits. How does it compete with the rest of the stuff out there right now? Make sure you watch the whole review. Find out exactly what I think.
Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tagline on a shirt or a hoodie.
From Top to Bottom
Take a look at that thing. I’m diggin that leather, that brown and black. That is right up my alley. That’s just classy looking. I like it a lot. Nice, nice job. Got a little bit of venting on the bottom here. Here’s where your air flow comes from. A little bit of Lyra branding over here. It does feel like real leather, it does. I’m not going to lie. Definitely no issues with that. There’s your fire button right there.
Quick size comparison just so you can have some reference. Of course, this is the Lyra, this is the Orion Q, this is the Smok Novo 2. Now you can see, it’s significantly smaller than the Orion, than that Orion type of form factor. It really is. Actually feels nicer in the hand than the Orion. I like the leather feel. Now it’s more like an extra-large Novo, Novo 2. That’s kind of what it looks like. Same type of form factor. Not much of a difference. The Lyra is definitely wider, definitely feels a lot better made. The build quality on this just feels fantastic.
Pod comes out. Like every other pod, just pop it out like that. I do like that the pod is somewhat clear. I think it definitely could have been clearer, though. When you get yours, you’re going to have that little sticker on the bottom so it doesn’t accidentally fire and burn your coil. Just pop it off just like so. Now you see this right here, you kind of got to squeeze this. See this right there? See it moving? Kind of gotta squeeze this in order to quite get that top piece off, your mouthpiece. There’s your draw hole right there. It’s comfortable, it’s smooth, it’s a nice draw hole.
Here is how you would replace your coil. You got this little knurling over here and that’s how you would grab it to replace the coil. You just spin it just like so and pop it out. So this is the coil that comes preinstalled. You can see, it says Lyra mesh on it. It’s pretty enclosed. As you can see, there’s no way to really prime this coil. You just have those juice slots right there. My recommendation to you would be just fill the pod up, let this thing sit for a good 5-10 minutes. You can see, it’s a 0.6 ohm mesh and this is the one we’re going to be using today. So like I said, in order to install it, just pop it in just like that. Once you have it all tightened down, take both sides right here. See that and that? Take both sides and open that up so you can displace the air. And then on the bottom there, that’s your ring that’s going to make contact with the contacts on the pod and that’s the part that’s going to fire your coil.
Juice we’re going to be using today is some Slamm’n Peach Ice, 25mg. Let’s check this stuff out. See how it is? So in order to fill this pot up, get that out of the way. Get that little rubber gasket out of the way. Stick your nozzle in there and just give it a squeeze. Once it’s all filled up, pop that side down, pop that side down, and now we’re just going to let it sit in there and soak up. Maybe give it a few dry poles. One other part I wanted to show you, see this part right here? That reveals the o-ring. This is interesting and let me show you why. It’s actually very well thought out. When you pop the top cap or whatever you want to call this, the mouthpiece on it. What happens is, it pushes that metal knurled piece down and makes a seal. Makes a really nice seal for you to get a smooth solid draw. I like that. Very, very well thought-out. Now, sometimes, this pinching part, to get this off, can be a little bit of a pain in the neck. Sometimes, you gotta wiggle it a little bit and mess around with it. But it’s not horrible.
Getting back to the mod, you can see, we got three gold-plated pins over there and we got some magnets in the corners. They’re actually pretty strong. In order to install your pod, you just take your pod and you pop it in, just like so. No way is right or wrong. You can pop it in the other way as well.
Five clicks, it’s on. Now, as far as this light goes, when you have the 0.6ohm coil in there. So when you’re on the red setting, you’re getting 16W. Press it three times. When you’re on the blue setting, you’re getting 18W. Press it three times. When you’re on the green setting, you’re getting 20W. That’s what the 0.6ohm coil. Respectively, when you use the 1.2ohm coil that I’m going to show you in a minute, red gets you 9W, blue gets you 10W, green gets you 11W. Let’s go over the 1.2ohm coil. This is the regular coil. This is considered the mouth-to-lung coil. You can see, the juice slots are a lot smaller and you can see, on the bottom air, the air flows a lot smaller. So just be aware of that. This is the 1.2ohm coil.
What’s in the Box
- 1 Lyra Battery
- 1 Lyra Pod
- 1 0.6ohm Mesh Coil
- 1 1.4ohm MTL Coil
Also included in the package, you’re going to get a Lyra user manual. You’re going to get a Lost Vape warranty registration card, a shortie style micro USB cable, and you get this nifty little lanyard. I never use them. I hate wearing crap around my neck.
So there it is all put together. Let me give you one last look around it. Don’t know if I covered it but the micro USB port is on the bottom, pet peeve of mine, can’t stand that.
Alright, Insiders! Let’s talk about cons and pros now.
First con’s going to be, it feels severely underpowered. I know I’m late on this one. This one’s been out a little bit but especially compared to the newer stuff coming out right now, this thing feels really underpowered.
It’s a very cool vape.
The mouth-to-lung coil on this one, a little bit too loose to be a legitimate mouth-to-lung coil. Die-hard mouth-to-lung-ers are not going to like it.
The mesh coil on this one, very tough to actually mouth-to-lung it. So I got a chalk up a con on that as well.
The tank has been a little leaky. So far, I’ve been getting some residue. That’s a con.
And that top, that top section where you got a refill where you got to kind of like pinch to get it off, it can be a pain in the neck to get off, it really can. It can be a little finicky sometimes, I don’t like it. They should have went another way. It’s a con.
That’s it on the cons. Let’s move on to the pros.
First pro’s going to be, while it is a cool vape, the flavor isn’t terrible. It’s actually got decent flavor.
I love the build quality on it. It’s just beautiful. That black and leather look is just classy looking.
So far, I’ve been getting great battery life on it.
I like that it has three power levels.
Two coils are in the box, that’s always a pro on this channel.
And the fire button on this one is actually nice and clicky.
As far as flavor and the vape production goes, let me show you what I’m working with here. Very cool, I’m not getting a saturated vapor. I’m just not happy with it. It’s just not my type of vape. I’m sorry. I think there are a lot better pod systems on the market right now. I kind of feel like this one is like all show and no go. I wish it actually vaped half as good as it looked because it’s a good-looking pod system. The performance just isn’t there, though. Even though I’m really late on this one and the price has come down a lot, you can see it now for $30.00 and under. I still can’t recommend it because it’s not as good as some of the newer stuff coming out right now. It’s just not. You can get a better bang for your buck with something else like a Breeze NXT or a Squid Squad or even that Oukitel Bison will run circles around this thing.
