Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci Review

Updated on: 2019-10-11

What’s up, Insiders? DeucesJack at Today, we’re going to do something a little different. I’ve never really done a shoot-out before. So let’s do a Smok RPM and Voopoo Vinci Shooter. It only makes sense. They look so similar to each other. We gotta compare the two. Make sure you stick around so you’ll find out which one wins this shoo-out. Will it be the Smok RPM 40, or the Voopoo Vinci?Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tagline on a shirt or a hoodie.

Here they are in their respective boxes. Let’s see what we got here. Here is the Smok, all nice and shiny in chrome. Kind of nice looking. Put that on deck. Here is the Vinci. Kind of like a nice green-blue action going on there. We’re going to put that on deck.Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

When you get the Smok RPM kit, you’re going to get 2 tanks. You’re going to get a dark one and you’re going to get a light one. The light one, right here, with the red markings, that is for your RPM coils. The dark one, with the black fill port there, you can see, it’s clearly marked on each of them. It says RPM and Nord. this tank is only for Nord coils. This tank is only for RPM 40 coils. They’re basically the same, except they are not interchangeable. Like the RPM coils are too big to fit into the Nord tank, and the Nord coils are too small to fit into the RPM tank. So I just wanted to make sure I made that distinction. The RPM 40 is Nord coil compatible but you have to use the other tank that comes with it. On the Nord right here, you get your fingernail in there. Nice, decent style fill port. Definitely enough room to displace air. I do like that it stays attached as well. When you’re done filling it, you just pop it in there and make sure it’s all the way in there.Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

Conversely, all you get with the Voopoo is this one sort of tank system right here. Here is your side fill right there. You got to pop it out. Got some girly nails to get in there. Nice and big, you can displace air pretty easily, shouldn’t be a problem. I like the fact that it stays attached. In the bottom there, that’s where you put your coils. Nice, big magnets in all four corners and this thing stick in there when you snap it into the mod. I do like that.Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

As I said, the Nord comes with two of these coils. This is the regular round wire Nord coil. This is the 0.6-ohm coil. And with this coil, you’ll be able to get 4.5mls of juice into the tank section. There it is, just a regular round wire coil.

Now in the clear pod pre-installed, this is the mesh coil. This mesh coil is absolutely fantastic. This has a best-of rating of 25W and it’s a 0.4-ohm mesh coil. You can actually see the mesh inside there. This is a phenomenal, phenomenal coil. Been enjoying the hell out of it. It goes in a few different systems with Smok. it also goes in the Fetch kit. They have this coil and it’s just a great coil. I can’t say enough good things about it. In order to install the coil, you want to make sure your flat sides are facing the flat sides over here. You just put it in and pop it down, just like that. And now your coil is installed.

Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

On the Voopoo Vinci, this is the 0.8-ohm coil. You can see, also just a regular round wire coil, nothing special here. The other coil that comes in the Voopoo kit is the 0.3 ohm and that is a mesh coil. Check that out. This one is good for up to 42W, 32-40W. This one, it’ll probably be a little warmer than the Smok coil. It goes a little higher. In order to install this coil, the same type of system. Just press and fit, just like that. It just gets held in by an o-ring. It just pops in there, just like that. You want to remove it, put your fingernail under it and pop it open.Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

So we’re going to do a little experiment today. I’m going to be using this pear berry e-liquid. I pick this stuff up at NVE and it is fantastic. Just an awesome, awesome juice. We’re going to put this juice in both tanks. So let’s take our pear berry. We’re going to go around the edges here. Prime that Voopoo coil up a little bit. Get it nice and saturated. We’ll do the same thing on the edges. I wish you were here and you could smell this juice. It is fantastic. Now that we’re all primed up, we’re just going to take our Voopoo coil and we’re going to pop it in there, just like that. Now, we’re going to take our little fill port right here. We’re going to hold that open, and now we’re going to take our pear berry and we’re going to give it a nice squeeze and fill it all the way up. Once it’s all filled up, snap that plastic piece bak, make sure it’s nice and secure. And now you’re ready to put this in the mod and vape. Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

Let’s do the same thing with the Smok coil. We’re going to put a drop or two right down the middle. It’s a little bit more closed off than the Voopoo coil. And we’re going to paint the sides a little bit as well. Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo VinciOnce that is all done, we’re going to take our coil. We’re going to make sure we line up those flat sides with the flat sides right there, and then we’re just going to pop it in just like that. Now, we’re going to open up our fill port, like so. And we’re going to stick our needle nose bottle in there, and we’re going to give it a nice squeeze. There you go. Now we’re all filled up. Pop that red piece into place, make sure it’s nice and flushed. And now we’re ready to vape.Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

Let me show you how these pods go in. This is basically kind of, almost like press fit, like it’s friction fit. There’s really no magnets on this. As opposed to the Voopoo on, watch this. See that? See how nice and tight that magnet is? Look at that. It’s just strong. Really, really nice job on this. I like that a lot.

Let’s go over each one individually Here is the Smok. got your fire button right there. 5 clicks, you got your Smok splash screen. You can see, you got a nice color screen coming up. Plus, minus buttons, a micro USB port on the bottom. I do like that chrome look. I got a purple one as well. I like that carbon fiber look. Nice job on that. A little bit of RPM 40 branding over there. This is where you’re getting your airflow from, of course. The menu system is pretty easy. Scrolls in 1W increments, all the way up to 40W. It does not round-robin. If you press the plus and minus together, the wattage is locked. Meaning, you can still vape it but you can’t change the wattage. Press the plus and minus button again, unlock the wattage. Press the plus and fire button together, and you can change the color of the screen. See it changing? Very simple. The screen is laid out really nicely. Got some Smok branding, there’s our battery meter, your wattage, your puffs in seconds, your resistance, your volts, and your amount of puffs. Those are your color choices for the screen right there.Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

Moving on to the Vinci, I really like the fact that I could see my liquid right from the jump. That’s an awesome, awesome job. I really, really like that. The same type of flat drip tip or mouthpiece, whatever you want to call it. Very, very similar to the Smok one, not much of a difference as far as comfort goes. Here is your fire button, up and down button, this your screen. On the bottom, also a micro USB port for charging. Really nice, I love that flashy blue, kind of looks really nice. Finally, Voopoo did some subtle branding. I definitely like that. In the past, they would have made this whole thing say Voopoo, this whole panel. I like that it’s subtle. Good job, Voopoo, you’re learning. Gene chip installed, you can see, that’s where you get your airflow from over there. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, you get a Voopoo Vinci splash screen. You can see, I think the screen on this mod is better than the one on the RPM. it’s bigger, it’s brighter, it’s better laid out. The Voopoo over here, battery meter, lock or unlock, your wattage, you puffs, your time, your mode, your resistance, and your voltage. You see the key right here, this is the different types of firing mode you have. You have 3 different firing modes. When it says P, that means that’s manual. You just have to push the button to draw. Auto-mode is auto-draw and ANP is auto and manual. You could either push the button or auto-draw. It’s totally up to you. I normally keep it on ANP because sometimes I just forget. Sometimes I hit the button, sometimes I don’t. That’s up to you what mode you want to keep it in.Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

Let me show you side by side with the screens. Make sure we have both at full brightness. I got to say, I like the Voopoo screen better. I just think it’s bigger, it’s better laid out. It’s not a deal-breaker or anything like that but I definitely like the Voopoo screen better, especially that big wattage number right there. You can see, as far as overall design goes, the Voopoo is a little taller. They both feel just about the same in the hand. Not much difference as far as form factor goes. The one advantage, the big advantage that the Voopoo has is that does have an auto-draw feature, the Smok does not.Smok RPM 40 VS Voopoo Vinci

Just for reference, I want to give you a size comparison to some of the other stuff that’s out there right now. This is the new Orion Plus. Of course, this is the RPM, this is the Vinci, and this is the new VSticking Smart kit. I just wanted to give you a reference so you can see how big both of these are compared to these. Alright, Insiders. Since we did a little bit of an unconventional review, something a little different than I normally do, I’m really not going to go over pros and cons because I really wanted this review to focus on the differences between the RPM 40 and the Voopoo Vinci. So we’re just going to talk about this one a little bit.

Here’s the RPM. I got it at 25W. Nice flavor, nice clouds. I’m enjoying it. I wish I could push this coil a little higher than 25W because it’s not as warm as I would like. Here is the RPM and I got this one at 35W because this coil can take more wattage. You gotta remember, you can push the button to vape on the Vinci or you can auto-draw. I’m going to draw it without pushing the button, watch. Now I got the same juice in there. The juice tastes much better and it’s much warmer. You saw the cloud production. The cloud production is much bigger but I’m running it at 10W more. Let me cut this one down to 25W and let me show you the cloud production. Still, bigger cloud production, even at the same wattage. I think that’s because the airflow is definitely a little looser in the Vinci. I like the Vinci coil system better, I like the fact that you can pump more wattage through the Vinci coils.

As far as which one is better, which one do I like the best, which one would I buy if I had the choice between the Vinci and the RPM 40? I got to give the nod to the Voopoo Vinci. I like the extra capacity, I like the fact that the coils run hotter. I like the flavor better, I like the clouds better. I’m not saying the RPM 40 is not a good device, it is. But if you give me a choice between the two of them, I’m taking the Vinci over the Smok easily. It’s that much better. It really is. Again, RPM 40 is a good device, but the Vinci is better.

Thanks for watching the video, Insiders. I definitely appreciate it. Remember, we’re not a monetized channel so we’d appreciate it if you check out our new merch store. You can get my tagline on a shirt like you see me wearing, or you can get it on a hoodie as well. We have some other great designs that you can put on a t-shirt or hoodie. Here’s another one of them, Vape King shirt and here’s one of my personal favorites, Vape So Hard That FDA Wanna Fine Me. Go over to our new store and check it out.

That’s it, Insiders! That’s all I got for you today. Please remember, it’s more important now than ever that you fight for your right to vape. Do me a favor. I know everybody is busy. Take 10-15 minutes out of your day. Call your local representatives, call your governor, call the white house, send emails. Let them know you vape and you vote and will not support anyone that supports a flavor ban. It’s very important. We’re losing our individual liberties every day. Now more than ever, Insiders. Make sure you keep living that vape life. We’re out of here. Deuces.
