Suorin Air Plus Review

Updated on: 2020-01-10

Intro

Today, we’re going to be going over the Suorin Air Plus. Check out how thin that bad boy is. That’s kind of different looking, especially for a pod system. Suorin makes some pretty nice mouth to lung stuff. The big question is, did they do it again with the Air Plus? Make sure you watch the whole review, find out all my thoughts and feelings, baby.

Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tagline on a shirt or a hoodie.

From Top to Bottom

Look at this thing. Look how slim that is. That’s kind of cool. Not going to lie, I’m digging that. I’m liking that brushed finish. It’s a little bit of a fingerprint magnet, a little subtle branding over there, but look how slim, just beautiful. Look at that Suorin branding over there. On the bottom here, you have a type-C charging port. I really like that.

Let me give you a quick size comparison. Here is the Movkin Y2 pod, this does not have replaceable coils. Here is the Suorin Air plus that we just went over, and this is the Smok Novo 2. I included a Novo 2 because it’s very popular so I wanted to give you a reference. You can see, much wider than mostly anything on the market but also even much slimmer. It really is. It’s a slim mod. Very, very pocketable. Same thing with the Novo. Much wider than the Novo but also, if you look at the depth, it’s much slimmer. You know what, this is good for like a business guy who wears a jacket every day and you want to put this on your inside pocket or in your shirt pocket. This is that perfect type of setup for that type of guy. It’ll also fit pretty comfortably in a jeans pocket because it’s so slim.

Here’s your pod right there. Check that bad boy out. That’s pretty big for a pod even though it is slim. Inside here, you can see, you got two magnets, two gold plated pins. There’s the magnet in each corner right there. That’s where your pod slips in to. See how nice and strong those magnets are? I like that. They pop in there really nice. Look at that, beautiful. Now you get this removable sticker on your pod. You just pop that off. You can see, you got two gold-plated contacts, two magnets over here. Nice, strong magnets. You can see, they will definitely keep things in place. I gotta say this, fill ports are a little annoying. See this little rubber tab here? That’s what you got to grab a hold of and it kind of has like a break in it and you pull it out and it can be kind of a mess to get back in because of the way it folds. I don’t like that. I wish they would have come up with something better. Not exactly the best rubber gasket ever designed, that’s for sure. But you can see, needle-nosed bottles only apply. That’s all you’re going to get.

One thing, I’m not sure if it’s showing up on camera. If you can see, clearly marked, 0.7 ohm pod, good for 16-22W, 1.5mls. I like that. I wish it wasn’t black on black. It can be kind of hard to see on camera. It’s definitely easier to see in person, that’s for sure. Another nice thing about the other pod that they give you, this is the 1ohm pod. Again, clearly marked, 1ohm, good for 11-15W, 1.5 ml capacity. The nice thing about this is they make the fill port rubber red so that the red is the 1ohm and the black one is the 0.7ohm. I like that they color-coded it like that. That’s a nice job, Suorin. Again, same type of pod, just a different resistance. This is more of a mouth-to-lung pod.
Juice we’re going to be using today is some Freeman juice. We’re going to be using their Maximum Overdrive which is basically some watermelon and berries. You guys know, I love my berries. Pod is already open, now we’re just going to take our juice bottle. We’re going to stick our needle nose tip in there and we’re just going to fill it up. Once you’re all filled up to the top, take your little plug, kind of finagle it in there, pop it in there. Now you can see, pretty nice and clear. I wish it just was a little clearer, but it’ll be fine. What I would suggest is you let this pod sit for a good 5-10 minutes and give it a dry pull or two before you actually connect it to the mod.

The pod only goes in one way just like that. Now here’s the weird thing about that. See? See right here? That’s your draw hole right there. They didn’t put the draw hole in the middle. They put it on the corner which makes for kind of an awkward vape. I’m not going to lie.

Cons

Alright, Insiders! Let’s go over the cons and the pros.

First con is going to be, when you draw on this thing and you want to look for your battery light, you can go cross-eyed trying to find out what your battery is doing. It’s a con. They should have put that light somewhere else or make it stay on for at least a second or two so I can see what my battery life is doing. It’s a con.

Some people aren’t going to like that slim type of form factor. They’re just not. They’re not going to like it so I got a chalk it up as a con. I don’t mind it. I think it’s very pocketable. I think it’s great for a business person. You can slip it in an inside jacket pocket or something like that. But some people aren’t going to like it.

The pods on this are dark. They could have been lighter. They’re okay. You hold it up to the light, you have no problem seeing your juice level. But in some of the darker conditions with some of the clearer juices, kind of tough to see your juice level. I don’t know why there has to be any type of darkness on these pods, like I don’t understand why they just don’t make them clear. It just doesn’t make any sense to me.

It’s got a very cool vape. This is not a hot, saturated vape. This is going to be for people who like a cool vape. For me, that’s a con.

Last con is going to be, it feels kind of awkward to vape because they put the mouthpiece in the corner right here. I don’t know why they didn’t put it in the middle. It just feels awkward putting it in your mouth like that. I just don’t like it. I’m having a tough time getting used to it as well. I’m used to grabbing something and vaping it in the middle. What I mean is, it was slim enough where you could have put it in the middle and put a little curvature there. Why do you have to put it on the corner? I don’t like it, con.

But that’s it on the cons. Some nitpicky stuff. You know me, I can get a little crazy sometimes with the cons. But let’s move on to the pros.

Pros

First pro is going to be, I like that slim form factor. I know I listed it in the cons but I think it’s super slim and discreet. I like it a lot, it’s a pro. I especially think this pro is going to be something that a business person is going to look for. If you’re the type of guy who vapes but you wear a suit jacket every day, you don’t want these big mods hanging out of your pocket. You don’t want these wacky shaped pods. You got something nice and slim like this, you can put it in your business shirt pocket, you can put it in an inside jacket pocket, you can even put it in your front you know dress pants pocket, and it’s not going to show. So for people who are looking for a setup like that, they’re going to really appreciate that slim form factor.

Two pods in the kit. They’re both clearly marked. Big pro, Suorin.

It’s got some nice air flow. While it’s not adjustable, it’s smooth. It’s a little bit on the loose side. It’s not what I would call a tight mouth-to-lung. Let me show you what I’m talking about. You could almost slip it. I just slipped it to a DL hit. It’s loose enough that you could slip to a DL hit. So you die-hard mouth-to-lungers, you’re not going to like it. I have no problem with the airflow. I actually like the airflow and I think the cloud production is pretty nice for what it is. Not bad at all. Favor is good too but it’s cool.

You can use freebase juice or nic salts with either coil. It doesn’t matter. Both of them are good to go in either pod. So that’s a pro.

Got good flavor.

It’s classy looking.

I’m getting great battery life off this thing.

It charges fast.

I like that it has type C charging and it’s one amp charging, so that’s a big pro.

And the last pro is going to be, it’s got a really nice capacity.

That’s it, Insiders! Those are my cons and pros.

Conclusion

Let’s chat about this one a little bit. Like I said earlier, this is not something that a hobbyist is probably going to go out and get. This is something that’s going to appeal to a business person in a professional type of environment. This is something that’s going to appeal to somebody that needs something slim to carry. That’s what this is for. This is not for everybody. I don’t think the hobbyist is going to go out and buy this one but for you casual vapers that are looking for that type of setup, this is a nice viable option. Especially if you like a cool vape. Check out the link down below.

Outro

Thanks for watching the video, Insiders. Definitely appreciate it. Remember, we’re not a monetized channel so we’d appreciate it if you check out our new merch store. You can get my tagline on a shirt like you see me wearing, or you can get it on a hoodie as well. We have some other great designs that you can put on a t-shirt or hoodie.
