What’s up, Insiders? Today, I got a dual 21700 mod for you and it’s the size of most dual 18650s. I’m talking about the Uwell Evdilo. I don’t know what the hell it is. I don’t know where the hell they came off with that name but it’s a dual 21700 mod. Right of the jump, I want to thank Source Morph for sending this one to me for review. Uwell cut me off because they got a little butt hurt on my Block22 review.
Let’s cut down low. Let me show you everything up close and personal and then we’ll talk about this one. See you down low.
Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tagline on a shirt, or a hoodie.
FROM TOP TO BOTTOM
Let’s open this thing up and let’s see what we got here. It is a kit, it does come with the Valyrian 2 tank that I’m going to show you but I’m not going to review it because I did a full review on it already. Here we go. Let’s open this up, and there it is, folks, the Evdilo. Unbelievable, I don’t know where China is coming up with these ridiculous names, I really don’t. Let me show you. There’s the Valyrian 2 tank, as well. We’re going to put the two tanks on deck for a second.
Let’s go over the mod. First off, right of the jump, I gotta tell you. This thing is the ultimate fingerprint magnet. I did wipe it down as best I could. As soon as you touch this thing, this is going to get schmutzy. Now, this is the chromed out, I think it’s zinc alloy and they just kind of chrome-plated it. They have painted versions that I saw that look much better and I don’t think there is much like the fingerprint magnet like this one.
Let’s check this thing out. Fire button, nice and clicky. Up and down button right there. There is your screen, and there is your micro USB port which I would only recommend that you use in a pinch because don’t forget, we’re going to be using, this is a dual 21700 mod. I don’t suggest that you charge them. Get yourself a proper charger. Look at that beautiful name. If it isn’t enough, the name, they had to plaster it right on the front of the mod. Just absolutely ridiculous. I do like this little resin inlay right here. I think they did a nice job with that. You do have some venting on the side here. I like that as well. I love the contour on the back here. I don’t know if you can see that. See that contour? See the way it kind of dips in the middle over here? I like that. It feels so comfortable in the hand. You can see it better from the top side. Just feels really, really comfortable in the hand. You got a nice inlay over here as well. And on the top here, that’s where our 510 plate is. We got it bolted down with 3-star screws. Gold-plated 510 that I would say has a stiff spring to it with a medium throw. Very, very stiff. That 510 plate has a slight raise to it. See that right there? Slight raise but I haven’t had any atomizers gapping on it. But I want to point that out because I know some people don’t like a slightly raised 510. They did do a nice job centering this 510.
Let me show you something. This is a 31mm atomizer. This is the Glaz by Steam Crave. Check it out. There’s overhang maybe on the bevel. I won’t even call that overhang. Don’t forget, this is 31. 30s probably won’t have any of that. Look what a nice job it does there. It fits on there nicely, it really does. This is 31, let’s call it, it fits 30mm atomizers without any overhang.
The one thing that’s really impressive about this mod is its size for a dual 21700 mod. This is quite small and quite comfortable for its size, it really is.
Alright, Insiders. I wanted to show you the Evdilo next to some of the mods that I think are close to its size so you have something to compare it to. Of course, this is the Evdilo, this is the Squid Industries Double Barrel V3, and this is the Aspire Dinamo. This is a dual 21700 mod as well.
The Squid is actually what I would consider pretty small for a dual 18650 mod. You can see, the Evdilo, gotta hate saying that name, is actually much shorter than it and just about as wide. There’s not much of a difference. As far as the width goes on the top, maybe it bubbles out a little over here. It’s pretty small for a dual 21700 mod.
When you compare it to something like the Aspire Dinamo, Jesus, look at that. Look at the difference. Not only is it much shorter but it’s not nearly as wide. And the contours on this just make it feel great in the hand. Honestly, when I’m holding this, I don’t feel like I’m holding a big bulky dual 21700 mod. It feels like I’m holding a dual 18650 mod. And you’re going to get battery life for days on this thing. So I kind of dig it. I can’t complain about that part of it at all.
MORE ABOUT THE MOD
Now, here’s where things start to fall apart a little bit. See this right here? That’s your battery release part right there. Your tray kind of slides out like that and you do get 2 18650 battery adapters included. We’re going to put them on the side for now. Let’s go over this tray a little. First of all, A and B, negative and positive. They’re black on black. That’s a bad job. Well, should know better. You have gold-plated, spring-loaded battery contacts over here. They did a nice job on the tray. The tray is nice and clean. Where things really start to fall apart is this right here. See this right here? I don’t know how long they’re going to last. I don’t know how solid they’re going to be. You can see, I can push them pretty easily. I think Uwell really cheaped out on this part of the mod and I’m worried how long those two things are going to last, those two crowns right there. It really, really bothers me. They really don’t do a good job of securing the battery door as they are right now because sometimes, inadvertently, my door will pop off and it’s a huge con.
Here’s the door itself. You can see, the button style, gold-plated contacts there. I do like the fact that they put this rubbery material on here, this non-conductive material. Just in case one of your batteries have a tear. I like that. You can see, these two parts right here, that’s where those two prongs that I showed you before are going to clip into. Another thing I want to point out, just look how slim this is without the battery compartment. Really, bang-up job, Uwell. Squeezing that chipset in at this part right here. Really, really nice job. Very impressed with that.
In order to install the batteries, you need a negative side over here, positive side over there. So I’m going to take my 30Ts and I’m just going to put them in like that. See that little l lip holds them in place? And then on the other side, we’re going to put them in, like that. Can you see how that lip kind of holds them in place? Now what you do is you take your cover. It’s kind of like on rails. You kind of slide it in and then pop it on. You can see, it’s got a little bit of movement, a little bit of compression. I wish it was tighter.
Let’s go over the screen. You can see, we’re in power mode. There’s my wattage, my voltage, my coils resistance, my time in seconds, my battery meters A and B. that reminds me also, every once in a while when the battery door gets loose, I know it’s loose because my battery A is reading empty. When that happens, what I do is I just give it a little pop, like that. And then the battery meter goes back to reading correctly. That’s kind of like the warning I get before my battery door falls off. It’s happened a couple of times already. It’s happened enough to be a con and to be annoying.
In order to enter the menu system, very, very simple. 1, 2, 3, see the power blinking? Now I can go to TCR mode right there. I can set my TCR. I’m at stainless steel, you put it at 0.00088. If I want to get out of celsius, it round robins. It does scroll in 10-degree increments. If I want to change my wattage, hit the button 3 times, confirm TCR, confirm that, and now you can adjust your wattage up or down. See it moving? In TC, it only goes up to 120W. Again, I don’t know why companies do that, it’s so ridiculous. But in order to confirm your wattage, you just hit the fire button. In power mode, you can see, it does scroll in 1W increments. It does scroll rather fast, all the way up to 200W. It does round-robin. I do like the fact that it scrolls in 1W increments. I think that’s awesome.
A couple of short cuts, plus button and the fire button, locks everything. Meaning, you cannot adjust the wattage but you can still fire it. Plus and fire button again to unlock. Hit the minus and the plus button, you lock the whole mod. That locks the buttons, that locks it from firing. Minus and fire button again, and that unlocks it.
That’s it, folks. That’s basically the whole menu system. Very, very simple. Let me show it to you all put together with the chrome Valyrian tank on top. I think that tank just looks badass, I really do. But notice, there are a couple of scratches. This chrome is very scratch-prone. I think the paint job would probably be better, if you’re going to buy this mod, I would recommend you buy the painted version unless you’re really in love with the chrome one. But there’s no doubt about it. With that tank, it looks absolutely beautiful.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX
Also included in the box that has your mod, you’re going to get 2 18650 adapters. You’re going to get a nice, long micro USB cable for charging and updates. You’ll get an Evdilo user manual. You’re going to get a spare bubble glass, a spare coil, a warning card, a user manual for the Valyrian 2, and some spare gaskets. Again, I did a full separate review on this tank. Alright, Insiders! Let’s get into them cons and pros.
First con’s going to be, that battery door, that slider battery door that I showed you down low, every once in a while when I’m using it, it slides open. It’s an issue, it’s a con.
Another con is going to be, I think Uwell really cheaped out on the latch. It’s not as strong as it should be and I think that’s the problem with the battery door accidentally coming open.
Another problem with that latch is because of the cheap material that Uwell use, I’m very concerned about the longevity of that latch.
And the last con’s going to be, Uwell, what the hell were you thinking when you name this thing? One of the most ridiculous names I have ever seen in my life for a mod. It reminds people of a word that rhymes with dilo. It’s so stupid. Where is your marketing department? What the hell are you guys doing?
But that’s it on the cons. Let’s move on to the pros because we do have some pros on this one. I happen to like this mod.
The first pro is going to be, I mentioned it at the beginning of the video. I like the form factor of this. I like the fact that it’s a dual 21700 mod and it’s not bigger than most dual 18650s. I think Uwell did a bang-up job on the form factor. Props to you, Uwell.
Not only is it small for a dual 21700 mod, but this thing is comfortable as hell to hold in the hand. When you put this in your hand, you’re like, “Ooh baby.”
It’s got an easy menu system.
It does TC but you do have to enter the individual TCR for the wire that you’re using. I do like the fact that you do have the option of doing TC and they just didn’t go with power mode. It’s a pro.
This thing fires fast.
I’m getting awesome battery life on this thing.
Love the curves and the overall look on it. I think it’s sexy as hell.
No doubt about it, even though I didn’t really go over it because we did a separate review of the Valyrian 2 tank, but this tank that comes with this kit is an awesome tank. Probably a top 5 sub-ohm tank.
And the last pro is going to be, the TC on this one is actually pretty decent.
That’s it, Insiders. Those are my cons and pros. Let’s talk about this one a little bit.
Love this mod, I love the form factor, I love the great battery life. The thing that kills it for me is the battery latch and the performance of the actual door. The latch itself, I’m worried about the longevity and my door does pop open every once in a while. Aside from that, if you can get pass those types of cons, I love this mod. I’ve been using it. I’ve been enjoying it. It’s been fantastic as far as performance goes. So you’re going to have to weigh this one out for yourselves, Insiders. Are you willing to put up with a janky battery door to get this awesome form factor and great battery life? That’s going to be up to you. I’m just pointing it out.
