Alright everyone, we’re back on top with the Vandy Vape Lit RDA. I have to tell you. Smooth airflow, really smooth airflow. Nice range. I like the difference between the vertical slots and the whole- the vertical slots are extremely airy, almost too airy but you airflow hogs are going to absolutely love it. I got to be totally honest. I’ve been rocking it with the air holes, mostly 8 to 12 of them open. Even with all the holes open, all 16, it’s a very airy RDA. Just be aware of that. But I do like the fact that it has 23 different types of airflows. I just prefer the holes, the honeycomb style better than the slashes.
Let’s get into the cons and pros. Not too many cons, plenty of pros.
First Impression Out of the Box
DeucesJack: What’s up, everyone? Deucesjack at vapinginsider.com. We got a new one for you today. Today, we have the Vandy Vape Lit RDA. Check it out, man. Rocking it out on the new Vaporesso Polar. Make sure you stay tuned because we’re going to be reviewing this mod real real soon.
As far as the Lit goes, 24mm RDA, 31.4 mm in height. Three ways to build on this. They give you some mesh that’s included. You can also build vertically or horizontally. I’m going to be very honest with you. I didn’t like the way it vape with the mesh. I’m really not a vertical build kind of guy so I’m going to do a horizontal build for you downlow. I’ll show you everything. We’ll show you the spring-loaded deck, the whole 9 yards. Let’s cut down low, let me show you everything, we’ll come back on top. We’ll vape on it, cons, pros, out of here. See you down low.
What’s in the Box
- 1 Lit RDA
- 1 17.5mm Wide Resin Drip Tip
- 1 18mm Wide Delrin Doc Drip Tip
- 1 18mm Wide ULTEM Drip Tip
- 1 Squonk BF 510 Pin
- Spare Parts & O-Rings
Alright everyone, welcome up close and personal with the Vandy Vape Lit RDA. You can see I have a sample packaging, I’ve had this for quite some time now. Take a quick tour around the box. We got some vandy Vape branding all around.
On the back, nothing much going on. This is just the way they do their sampling. On all that products, retail packaging will probably be different. Here is the actual RDA itself. We’re going to put that to the side for a second. Also, put the drip tips to the side for a second. Let me show you the contents of the box.
Inside the box, you get a quality certificate. File that to the side. Here is your spare parts bag. You get a blue Phillips head screwdriver, a hex key, some spare o-rings, a 510 drip tip adapter, a squonking pin and some spare deck screws. You also get this mesh wire. It’s stainless steel 316, ohms out at 0.15 ohms. It’s 5 x 50 mm. You kind of have to build it with like a figure 8 type of look. I tried it. I did not like it. I don’t think it vapes well with this type of coil in it. For the purposes of this review, we’re just going to put some traditional coils in it and we’re just going to file this to the side.
Here are the two drip tips that comes in the package. Basically the same exact drip tip. One is frosted, one is black. They look to be made out of some type of Delrin. Wide board type of shorty chuff cap style drip tips, 810 or a Goon style. We’re going to put those to the side right now. This is the other drip tip that you get with it, resin one. Actually much thicker. I think it’s beautiful.
From Top to Bottom
Let’s just pull the drip tip out, let me show it to you. Beautiful resin style drip tip. 810 goon style. Let me show you the black one next to it so you can see the difference. This one is a little taller, just slightly. But I definitely like this one better. I’ve been rocking it.
Here’s the top cap. Flat style top cap with a goon o-ring inside as you can see. Nice knurling over here. Pull it out and you’ll see there are two different types of airflows. You have this side with the circular airflow. 4, 8, 12, 16 different holes that you can cut down, four at a time. If you turn to this side, you’ll see that they are like some cyclopes airflow holes like in there on a slant. Everything is held in place by one o-ring that has a really nice tolerance to it.
Inside, you can see we have a nice conical design. Definitely conducive to great flavor. The barrel is very nicely done as well. You got some Lit branding in there. Some nice engraving. This is that trapezoid type shape that lines up with the airflow holes that you decide to use. Nice thin type of barrel. You can see there’s a ring in there. Airflow on this is really really smooth.
Let me show you the deck. The deck is kind of weird. You kind of have to, if you use that mesh, you kind of have to loop it through. Like I said, I tried it but I really didn’t like it. The deck is spring loaded as you can see. Bunch of peak insulating in between the metal pieces of the deck. You can see some discoloration there. I don’t know if that’s actually burn marks or from the juice I was using. I doubt, it’s probably more from the juice than anything else. really long post screws. You can see them there. These post screws can be used with a Phillips head or flat head screw driver. Like I said, I’ve been rocking normal coils in here. Now, something interesting, if you see the bottom right here, this hole right here. See that? If you replace the squonk pin, that’s kind of like a juice splitter that splits your juice between this side and this side. I think that’s a nice job. They did a really good job on that.
Barrel’s held in place by these two o-rings right here. They are on the tight side. Here is your traditional gold-plated 510 connection. Insulator ring around it. We got some Lit branding over here and a serial number over here with some Vandy Vape branding around the edge. Threading on here is very smooth. It’s a unique deck. It’s different. That whole spring loaded thing going on, very very different. I like the squonk. The way they did that squonk hole right there.
Let’s throw a build in it. Let me show you how I build on this with traditional coils. Like I said, I just didn’t like the vape that got off of the mesh. Let’s slap it on the 521 Plus tab and I’ll show you how I do this. First thing I do is I take one lead. I put one on each side right there and I push them as close as I can to the actual terminals. Then I turn it around. I do the same exact thing on this side. Again, pushing it as close as I can and we’ll worry about cleaning up the leads and cutting them later. But that’s how I do it. Then, I like to take my Philips head and just tighten each side down a little at a time. You kind of have to because you can’t fully tighten one side down because of the way the deck is configured. A little bit at a time on each side. Get them in there nice and snug. Now, you just want to clip your leads, try to ben them out of the way. Get your wire clipper in there nice and close and give it a snip. Same thing on this side. Get your wire clippers in there, get them as close as you can to the post, give it a snip. On this side, same thing. get them in there as close as you can, snip.
Once you have all your leads cut, it should look something like that. Now you want to just give your coils a gentle pulse. Let’s see what we’re ohming out at, 0.18. Let’s give it a nice little pulse. See what we have going on here. Nice and gentle, make sure we get out all the hotspots. Give it a nice little stroke on each side and now we’re glowing evenly from the inside out. There we go. Now, we’re ready to wick it up.
Cotton we’re going to be using today, Cotton Bacon, Prime. You want to just kind of eyeball yourself a nice little piece. Give it a little roll. Pull your cotton through, make sure it’s nice and snug. Now, what you want to do is you want to cut your wick right around your second o-ring right there. Just like that. take your leftover cotton, do the same thing you did on the other side. Pass it through the other side, make sure it’s nice and tight. Now you do the same thing. You cut it the same length as it is on the other side. These too. We’re going to measure up against the second o-ring. Cut it like that. Same thing over here, cut it like that. Now you’re ready to tuck your wicks in. Like I’ve showed you in other videos, I kind of like to use a dental tool. Kind of tuck them in just like that. Leave them nice and fluffy. Same thing over here. When you’re tucking them in, you got to make sure that you’re leaving everything nice and fluffy. Turn it around. Same thing on the other side. Tuck them in there but maintain that fluffiness. There we go. We’re all tucked in, ready to wet them up.
Juice we’re going to be using today is the Lemonade Stand Blueberry lemonade. Let’s juice these coils up. Get them all nice and saturated. plenty of juice in there. Now you may want to give it a little bit of a pulse. make sure we have vapors. There we go. Hit that juice work in there and we’re ready to vape.
Let’s put it all back together. We’re going to cut back on top, we’re going to talk about it, vape on it, cons, pros and we’re out of here. See you back on top.
My only real con on this thing is that big deck. It takes up so much space in there. It just doesn’t work well. i don’t know, man. I think they should have done something else with the deck. I’m not thrilled about the actual deck itself. It’s easy to build on but it’s just so much space in there. I think it kind of lessens the flavor a little bit. I’m not a fan of the deck, itself.
Pros, let’s get into it.
It’s got two types of airflow, that’s a pro.
It’s a very confident squonker. It’s go that high squonk hole that I showed you in the down low portion. When you squonk your juice into it, it fills that juice well up and the juice doesn’t go back into your bottle. I like that. That’s a good design.
I like the fact that it has plenty of airflow with a great range. They’ll get a pro for that.
I’ll give them a pro for the flavor. Is it the best flavor in the world? No but it’s got really good flavor. Let’s give them a pro for that.
I’ll give them a pro for the great o-ring tolerance. the o-ring tolerance on this thing, look at it. Fantastic, man. I like that.
Let’s give them a pro for the build quality. it’s a very nicely machined RDA.
I’m also going to give them a pro for the coil versatility. I do like the fact that you can run different types of coil in different types of configuration. The fact that you can run mesh vertical or horizontal is definitely a pro. For you guys that like to tinker out there, you builders that like to mess around with different build and everything, you’ll probably dig a deck like this. You probably will.
I’m going to give them a pro for the goon style drip tip with the 510 drip tip adapter. That’s always a pro on this channel.
That’s it. That’s really all I got for you on the Vandy Vape Lit RDA. Juice we were using today is the Lemonade Stand blueberry lemonade.
