How are you doing today, Insiders? DeucesJack at VapingInsider.com. Today, we’re going to be going over a pod kit by Vaporesso. I’m talking about the Degree. Check that little beauty out.

From Top to Bottom
Let me show you the one I’ve been using. Kind of has like a brushed stainless steel look. I don’t know if the camera is picking that up. It’s kind of awesome, though. Lovin, lovin and lovin that resin panel. It’s drop-dead gorgeous. They did a nice job. Look at that. Matching the drip tip to the panel, absolutely beautiful. Look at the contrast, look at the difference of the two. Same mod, different panels and I think this one looks so much better for me. This one would look a lot better if those lines weren’t in there. Those lines actually kill the look of this one. And I do like the coloring on this. I like that gunmetal gray dark battleship gray type of finish. I think that would have even looked really nice with this panel. But I’m definitely diggin the stainless steel. This is the one I’ve been using. I think the resin ones are just gorgeous.
Here is the original pod that comes pre-installed in the kit. This is the Ccell pod. You can see, it’s marked over there. I do like the fact that they made the pod clear. You can easily see your juice level. Now, notice this. You got a valve system here and that’s where your juice drops in from right over there. And then here is your coil over here where your mouthpiece is above in order to get maximum flavor. You will get this little pull tab because this is the pre-installed pod. That will stop it from firing during shipping. You pull that little thing off just like that. And now you can see, you have two gold-plated contacts. Really, really nice pod. I like the fact that it’s clear. Here is your valve system right here that you push down. I don’t know if you can see that. See that? See how I push that down? See how that moves? That’s going to open it up and let you fill the pot up with juice. This is the type of pod that once you’re done with it, you throw it away. There is no way to replace the coil.
Conversely, here is how you get the other pod. it’s sealed in a package like this. This is the mesh 0.6ohm pod, good for 16-22W. This is where your drip tip is going to seal into. As you can see, you’re going to be vaping directly from the coil. Nice, clear pod. I do like that. You can definitely see your juice level quite easily. In order to install your pod, you see, you got a strap right here. We’re going to tuck that out of the way for now. Over here, you have two gold-plated contacts.
In order to install your pod, you just turn it around. Make sure the valve part right here is lined up with the hole over here because you’re going to be able to fill through that and you just kind of pop it in there, just like that. There’s your little strap right there. In order to pull it and get it out. You can see, that little valve lines up right there so you don’t have to take anything off in order to fill it. Kind of neat. Over here, you have adjustable air flow. That’s kind of nice. Here, you have a proprietary drip tip. Kind of like that Smok Style where you got that little hump with the two o-rings and then you pop your drip tip on. The drip tip is comfortable. I hate the fact that its proprietary. Bad, bad job. Over here, you got a little hole for a lanyard or a chain that’s also included. I’ll show you in a minute. Here, here, and here. You have some nice magnets. They are very strong. Of course, those magnets coincide with the magnets on the door. You can see, you have a warning sticker over here, lets you know exactly what pods are available. This Vaporesso cut out over here, this V, it’s not just for design. When you put it on, it stays on pretty nice. But you can see, it serves as a window so you could see your juice level. On the back side, real nice kind of design. Looks like resin-ish, but it’s not. It’s got a smooth finish. I really hate these diagonal lines going through the finish. I wish those diagonal lines weren’t there. I think they look like crap. I think they really ruined the look of it. You got a little bit of Vaporesso branding over there. Fire button, up and down button, micro USB port, screen over here. You can see, the buttons are a little raised. I do like that. You also have some Vaporesso Degree branding over there and nothing much else going on.
Wanted to give you a quick size comparison on the Vaporesso Degree. This is the Smok Mico, this is the Orion Plus. You can see, the Mico is much, much smaller. Probably almost about half the size. But I know it’s very popular so I wanted to show it because I know a lot of people actually own a Mico so this way, you can have some point of reference and here’s probably the most famous form factor out of all these pod/AIO kits that we’re seeing coming out. This is the Orion Plus. You can see, it’s a little thick. Definitely a little thicker but definitely the same type of footprint. It also is not as heavy as the Orion. The Orion is actually a bit heavier but very, very similar with the whole setup.
As you can see, five clicks, turns the mod on. You can see, starts at 5W. You got your resistance, your battery meter, your puffs and your wattage. If you want to scroll up, it scrolls up at 0.1W increments. It scrolls rather fast, all the way to 30W and that’s it. I wish it didn’t scroll at 0.1W increments. I would have liked to have seen half watt increments on this. Three clicks, you lock the system. That means you can’t adjust the wattage up or down but you can still fire the mod. Three clicks, unlocks the mod. Hit the plus and fire button together. Flips the screen, hit the minus and fire button together and you can adjust the screen brightness, all the way up to 10. We’ll put it up to ten. That’s it folks, that’s the whole menu system.
I wanted to install the pod to show you. One of the only problems I have with the pod now, you can see, you can fill it right there without taking the pod out. However, if we take a chubby gorilla type of juice bottle, you’re going to see, watch this. You can see, I got to get in there in an angle. I really can’t make it straight. You would think, “Ok, we’ll take the drip tip off.” So you would think once that drip tip is removed, “Yeah, I can get in there a little better.” but I still got to slant it in order to depress it. I really wish this was one assembly and could be removed. You can remove the airflow right here in order to clean but I don’t like this little hump right here in the middle of everything. I think it kind of gets in the way. If you want to fill it with a chubby gorilla, you can just pop it out and then you’re totally free to fill it like this. So that’s a workaround to it but I just wish they would have thought out that drip tip assembly a little better. I really do I think what they could have done was they could have made this a 510 drip tip that goes into here and they should have put the airflow on the side here. This way, when I want to fill it from here, I could just pull the whole assembly out and fill it without taking my pod out. I think that would have been a nicer design.
What’s in the Box
1 x Vaporesso Degree with CCELL POD(2ml, 1.3Ω)
1 x Vaporesso Degree MESHED POD (2ml, 0.6Ω)
1 x E-Juice Filling Bottle (10ml)
1 x USB cable
1 x User Guide
1 x Warranty Card
1 x Reminder Card
Also included in the package, you get this spare juice bottle that you can fill up with your favorite juice and just in case you have a bottle with a glass dropper where you won’t be able to use the valve system, this bottle will allow you to do that. So that’s honey. You get this little finger strap here, attaches like a lanyard and I guess you could loop your finger in there. You get a really nice microUSB cable. Vaporesso is known for them and you get this chain here just in case you want to hang it around your neck as well.
Let me give you one last look at it all put together.
Alright, Insiders! Let’s get after those cons and pros.
First con’s going to be, this thing can be a little tough to fill with a chubby gorilla 120 bottle. The drip tip kind of gets in the way. Yeah, they included a bottle, so that’s kind of cool, but I just wish there was a way they remove that whole drip tip assembly, just kind of pull it out and use whatever bottle I want to use. I do like the valve system, I just wish the system itself accommodated bigger type bottles.
One other con I found out is if you vape with the drip tip facing upright, if you vape this way with the drip tip facing down, there’s no issues. If you turn it around and on your left hand and you gun fire it and all the liquid drains down. If you vape it a couple of times like this, you’re going to get that dry liquid, that dry-hit protection message. So just make sure when you vape this thing that the drip tip is facing down and you shouldn’t have any issues. That’s the one little con that I noticed. It’s annoying sometimes. Sometimes, I’ll be in the middle of hitting it and I’m like all of a sudden, the thing cuts off and I’m like, “What happened?” and I look and I got the dry liquid message so I just want to point that out for you. It’s a nitpicky con but it’s there and I got ta point it out.
But that’s it on the cons. Not a lot to complain about on this. I only had two.
Let’s move on to the pros because we got some pros on this one.
First pro is going to be, build quality on this, it’s fantastic. It’s even better than what I’m used to from Vaporesso. I think Vaporesso did a bang-up job on it. I love this brushed stainless steel looking one. It’s just drop-dead gorgeous and I like the little resin panel on the back, just beautiful.
It’s compact, it’s easy to carry. You can slip this in a front jeans pocket, inside jacket pocket, bag pocket. Either way, you’re good to go.
I like the fact that it has an adjustable wattage.
I like the adjustable airflow.
I like the top fill valve.
I love the fact that this thing has wattage limitations on the pod. In other words, when you plug the pod in, it’s not going to let you go past the suggested wattage on the pod. It’s got a ceiling and I like that. It’s kind of an idiot-proof, pro.
I like that low liquid warning so you don’t burn out your coils. That’s a pro.
2 amp charging on board, baby.
This thing’s been bone-dry, there’s no leaks on this thing. This is one of the driest pod systems I ever used, pro.
It’s a great form factor and it’s got a nice little heft to it, pro.
It’s got smooth airflow. Let me show you what I’m talking about. I got it wide open right now. Listen, not noisy at all. Check it out.
It’s got a really nice cloud production as well and the flavor is fantastic. Let me get another vape, just beautiful. What I just showed you was the mesh coil. Now I’m going to show you the CCell coil. This one I got it 12.5W. I want to show you that you can actually do a legitimate mouth-to-lung on this. I got a nice nic salt juice in there, that vanilla nic salt juice that I like from Apollo. Tastes fantastic. I got the airflow wide open. You can cut it down so you can get a tight mouth-to-lung. It’s just a great system with a great airflow range. Great flavor on both coils.
I like that little window so you can see your liquid level, pro.
And the last pro is going to be the pods themselves are pretty clear. Thank you, Vaporesso.
That’s it, Insiders. Those are my cons and pros.
Let’s talk about this one a little bit because we got some things to talk about. It’s a nice system. In my opinion, Vaporesso just knocked this one out of the park. This thing is outstanding. It does well with freebase juices. It does well with nic salts. It’s a nice versatile pod system that I’ve been enjoying the hell out of. The pods are basically idiot proof. They got that wattage limitation set on the board. It’s fantastic. Great for newbies because it doesn’t let you burn out your pod. I just think Vaporesso did a bang-up job on it and it’s a looker as well. Look at this thing. This thing’s just a beauty. I love this resin one. It’s just fantastic. I can’t say enough good things about this pod system. It’s DeucesJack approved.
