What’s up, Insiders? DeucesJack, I’m at VapingInsider.com. Today, we’re going to be going over the Voopoo Vinci X. You guys remember, I took the OG Vinci and did a shootout with the Smok RPM40. This is just a bigger version of the OG Vinci. It’s the single 18650 pod version. If you remember my last two review, my shootout, I actually really liked the Voopoo. The big question is, has the single 18650 version going to stack up? Make sure you watch the whole review, find out all my thoughts and feelings.
Before we get into the video, head on over to our Facebook group. We’re going to have a link down below. The bigger the group gets, the stronger we get, the more informed we are. Head on over there and check it out. There’s a great group of people over there.
From Top to Bottom
Let’s check it out. I got the scarlet version. Look at that. Kind of beautiful. I’m kind of diggin that. Check it out. It’s an RPM in single 18650 format. Pretty nice, right? I’m digging that honeycomb scarlet coloring. Nice job there. A little bit of Voopooo branding, of course, some gene chipset branding over there, some more scarlet and honeycomb right there. Check out that fire button, nice and clicky up and down button. Kind of rocker style button, kind of nice. You got a micro USB port over here and on the bottom there, you have an old-school battery cap. And you also got these little rubber feet but they don’t really make contact with the desk if you put them on a desk or something like that. It’s not like you can’t slide it around, you actually can. I’m not too thrilled about this old-school battery cap. I think they could have done it a little better than this. I hate these things I really do, but there it is. You can see it’s marked negative on the battery cap side. Down the tube, there are no markings, but there is a spring-loaded, gold-plated battery contact. I’m going to leave the battery cap off for a minute. Let me show you the top. Same tank as on the Vinci. Same exact tank. In fact, the Vinci tank fits as well. Flat draw piece here, very, very comfortable.
One thing I did not show on the original Vinci and I kind of felt bad about it is, see these little cutouts here right here and then they’re, how they’re in different spots? That’s because depending on which way you put this in, it’ll reduce the airflow or increase it. So there’s basically a tight airflow and a looser airflow depending on which way you install the pod. So that’s kind of neat, I like that. And I failed to point it out in the original and I apologize to my subs for that. But same exact thing, no difference here. You got your arrow right there. This is your fill port. This one’s a little thicker, the rubber is a little thicker, so easier to get a grip on. You just fill it right there.
Here are the two coils that are included in the kit. You do get two coils in the kit. This is the 0.3ohm coil, good for 30-40W. You can see, it’s a mesh coil inside. We’ve seen these coils before. Nice looking coil, great flavor. Much mesh coil on the Aegis Boost. The second coil that comes in the kit is also a mesh coil. This is the 0.6ohm coil that’s good for 20-28W. You can see, it’s also a mesh as well. They do look very similar. The printing on these thing’s just god-awful. What the hell? Who the hell can see that? Voopoo, you got to make your coil printing a lot bigger and the other thing you got to do is you got to change the o-rings and you got a you got to put different color o rings on them so we can distinguish the difference between the two of them. Because let me tell you something, they look very similar to me. See that? Yeah, I understand this one has a little bit of a piece on top here, a little bit of a ledge there, but come on. You got to put different color o rings on these things, you really do. In order to install all the coil, it is a plug-and-play style coil. You just grab whatever one you feel like vaping on and push it in. That’s it.
I have heard other people complaining, especially in the old Vinci video, that some of their Vinci’s were leaking. I did have one coil that I bought aftermarket that wound up leaking a bit. I haven’t had any of these coils leak yet. So I just want to point that out. But it could be an issue with these press fit coils. Sometimes, they don’t seal as good as they should. So just keep that in mind. We’re going to take the coil out for now.
Let’s get back to the mod. Let me show you the inside of the mod. You got your two gold-plated contacts over here. Four magnets in each corner and they coincide with the magnets in the corner of the actual tank or pod. Whatever you want to call it. So let’s pop this in here okay and let’s fill this thing up and we’re going to give it a vape.
Juice we’re going to be using today is Strange Clouds, Debbie Delight. This is a fresh strawberry and peach topped with coconut. It’s actually a really nice juice. I got this in my ZampleBox review, the box that they sent me for review. I’ve been enjoying it. I would probably buy this as a 120.
So let’s pop that thing on the side right here. By the way, normally, I probably would prime the coil but since I still haven’t gone over the mod yet, I’m just going to fill this tank up and it’ll be sitting for a good 5-10 minutes so there’s no reason for me to prime it. Let’s just fill this up with some strawberry peach and coconut. Get this thing rolling. You can see, it fills up. Gotta kind of go slow because the juice has got to make its way around the coil which is fine. There we go. We seem to be all filled up that’s about as much as it’s going to take. Let that thing flip down and pop it in. Make sure it’s nice and secure. And now you can see, we’re all filled up. We’re just going to let this soak up for a minute.
Back to the mod, we still have the battery cap off. Let’s add a battery. We’re going to put our battery in. Negative side facing the battery cap, just like it says to do. We’re going to put that battery cap on, we’re going to give it a little reverse thread and then we’re going to screw it down, just like so.
Alright, Insiders. I’m of course going to compare it to the original Vinci and the smoked RPM40 because they’re so similar. Now the Smok RPM40, very similar to the original Vinci. Internal battery, same type of shape and everything. Looks like the Vinci X is a bit wider but you really don’t feel it in the hand. Definitely a bit taller but don’t forget, this takes a single 18650. Now let’s compare it to the OG Vinci. You can see, pretty much the same exact thing. They just went with something bigger in order to accommodate a single 18650. It’s pretty much exact. I just wanted to show that to you so you have some reference.
In order to turn the mod on, there you go, there’s your splash screen. Gene chipset and there’s your full color screen. Typical screen that we’ve seen on the Vinci before, Voopoo branding here, battery meter, lock or unlock, wattage puffs, time of puffs. Now here’s something interesting. This P means push, not power mode. On the old Vinci, there was a P, there was an A, and then there’s an A & P. That’s because the old Vinci had an auto draw feature. I haven’t been able to find that on this. All that’s there is the P. There’s your resistance, there’s your voltage. Not much of a menu system here to go on.
If you hit the down and power button, you can clear your puffs. Hit the up and power button, you can lock it. That means you cannot fire either. Hit the plus and power button again to unlock it. If you hit the plus and minus button together, you’re going to go into this puff screen and basically, from what I understand in the manual is, it’s going to allow you to track your puffs between 1 and 14 days. I’m just going to set it at 14. Once you set it there, just hold the fire button and you’re back into the old screen. This does scroll in 1W increments. It does scroll all the way up to the full 70W. It does not round-robin. You get that max power screen instead. So just keep that in mind. Let’s remember we installed the coil that was good for up to 40W so we’re going to start it off at around 30.
Here’s the thing with your airflow. This is what I wanted to show you what I failed to show you on the other one. see where the airflow cut out is here? If I put it in this way, that’s going to be the restrictive way. But if I turn it around and I put the bigger part of the cut out towards the holes, that’s going to be the looser way. Again, this is loose, this is more restrictive. Just so you know that.
Let me give you one last look at it all put together. I think it’s kind of sexy looking. I’m not going to lie. I’m really digging this thing for a single 18650 mod. I know I sound like a broken record. I wish they would have made it in 21700 form. Maybe Voopoo will get smart and come out with a Vinci XL and let me drop a 21700 in it. I would love that.

First pro is going to be, it does take the same exact coils as the OG Vinci. So if you own that and you want something bigger with better battery life, you don’t got to start buying different coils for it. So while I kill them for it on the cons, it’s also a pro.
Beautiful, big color screen. That’s a pro.
It takes in 18650, that’s a pro.
I like the capacity.
Great build quality, no rattles.
Fires fast. I’m getting great flavor and clouds. I got the coil you saw me install, 35W. Check it out. Not bad for 35W. I couldn’t believe it. The flavor and clouds are definitely there. There’s no disputing it. Full, saturated flavor. I’m getting nice, nice heat which I really like. That’s a definite pro. If you want flavor and clouds at a low wattage, a relatively low wattage at 35W, definitely check this out.
The chips kind of got like a smart feature to it. It won’t let you go past the wattage limitation of the coil. I kind of like that. That’s kind of cool. A little bit of safety built in. It’s a pro.
It’s got that adjustable airflow that I like. If you want to just the airflow, all you do is turn it around and flip it. I showed you that down low, it’s a pro.
It’s got a real comfortable mouthpiece. I’m not a fan in general of flat mouthpieces but this one’s really comfortable.
Love the power-to-size ratio on this.
It’s super easy to see your juice level. Those those tank sections are nice and clear. The pod section, whatever you want to call it. You don’t kind of hold it up to the light. You can just look at it and see your juice level. What a concept, Voopoo. Thank you for listening, appreciate that.
And the last pro is going to be, no matter which way you adjust the airflow, whatever setting, there are two settings, it’s smooth. Check it out. Listen. You can hear it. It’s smooth. If I turn it around, just as smooth. Just a smooth, smooth draw as we saw in the Asmodus Pyke Review. It’s a pro.
That’s it, Insiders. Those are my cons and pros. Let’s talk about this one a bit.
I’m going to shock a lot of you people right now and I’m going to tell you that this may be, probably 90% sure, this is my favorite Voopoo device of all time. I think Voopoo did a stellar job on it. From the build quality, to the way it vapes, to the screen. This is an excellent little kit. It’s one of the few AIO kits and there’s a few of them out there but not many of them, but it’s one of the few AIO kits that I could take this out with me all day and not miss my dual 18650 setup. That’s how much I like it. Yeah, I’d probably have to carry two or three batteries with me which is fine. But I could use this all day no problem, without feeling like I’m not getting any satisfaction. This is fantastic. It’s a great little kit. Hopefully, they develop some more coils for it that are a little higher in wattage. And Voopoo, listen to what I said earlier. You need to make a 21700 version on this one. Call it the Vinci XL and get it done because I’m telling you, you do that, you’re going to have a major, major, major home run on your hands. Take it from me. This one is DeucesJack approved.

Want to give a huge shout out to Ave40 for sending me the Voopoo Vinci X. I got a funny little story that goes along with this. Let me tell you what happened. When I was at ECC, I was running around doing my thing, interviewing people, showing the new mods and everything and I’m like a chicken without a head when I’m at these events. I get I just got like my blinders on and I’m just going. Voopoo representative comes up to me and they’re like, “Hey, Jack can we talk to you for a second?” I’m like, “Yeah, sure. No problem.” He’s like, “Can you come on over and speak to our manager?” I said, “Not a problem at all.” So I stopped what I’m doing. I stopped working. I go over there and I talk to them. And there’s a guy and a girl there, they introduced themselves to me. The girl, I know, because she got nasty with me via an email exchange because she did not like my Drag 2 review and they start off with, “Hey, Jack. Nice to meet you. We kind of feel like we got off on the wrong foot. Sorry about that. Blah, blah, blah.” and I’m like, “Listen, we didn’t get off on the wrong foot. Your girl over here got very nasty with me when I asked her for a Drag Mini. She was very upset with the review I did on the Drag 2. I do honest reviews. If you guys can’t accept that, that’s your problem, not mine. That’s on you, not on me.” So we were talking for a little while and they’re like, “Alright, hopefully we can settle this. We don’t want to have you as an adversary.” I’m like, “Look, I’m not your adversary. I just do honest reviews. If you guys can’t accept an honest review, I don’t know what to tell you. You guys have basically boycotted me and taking me off your list to review stuff when I was the guy who when every other vape reviewer was boycotting you because of what happened with Vandy Vape, I still continued to review your stuff because I didn’t have a dog in that fight and I still give you guys honest reviews. But you and your infinite wisdom has decided not to include me on your list of reviewers when you send stuff out.” So the guy says, “Listen, that’s all changed now. We’re going to put you on the list. You’re going to get everything that we come out with.” They handed me in an OG Vinci, the one that I reviewed with the RPM40. I got them both at ECC. Out comes the Vinci X, nothing from Voopoo. I got to get it from Ave40. So big shout out to Ave40 for hanging in there with me and sending it to me. And Voopoo, you guys are just a bunch of liars because I never got the Vinci X and I still gave you a great review because I don’t let that stuff, I don’t let the politics of the vape industry, infect my reviews. But I want to tell my reviewers about it. Even though you guys didn’t send it, I still gave it a great review and it’s probably my favorite Voopoo device ever. So you guys actually missed out by not sending it to me because I would have gotten a review out earlier and I would have touted it earlier. But since Voopoo is not a company that stands behind their word, I just wanted to put it out there and let you guys know I got this from Ave40.
