What’s up, Insiders? DeucesJack, I’m at vapinginsider.com. Today, we got a new auto-squonker for you. Talking about the VSticking Smart kit.
Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tagline on a shirt or a hoodie.
From Top to Bottom
They actually wanted me to touch on this for you. VSticking is actually owned by SX Mini. SX Mini is their high-end stuff. VSticking, fair price luxury product, they’re trying to position themselves in the middle of that market. And IPV is looking to take the lower end of that market. SX Mini owns all of them. I just want to point that out.
Now here’s the Smart kit. They called this, you can see, I got a test sample, they called this the VKsma and I don’t know if you saw my ECC video but I kind of made fun of the name and they actually changed the name. I kind of feel bad about that, I really do. They changed the name. I don’t know if they did it because of me but I’m sure the marketing people aren’t too happy with me right now.
So this is the black on black version. You got this black leather strip over here, definitely adds some nice texture to it. Nice paint job. Fire button, plus button, minus button, there’s your screen. When you first get this mod, it’s going to be off. If you click it 5 times, it’s not going to turn on. You got to long press the power button for about 5 or 6 seconds and then the screen will turn on. And you really can’t shut it off. You can lock it by pressing the fire button 3 times and you can go into the menu by pressing the fire button 5 times. We’ll go over that in a minute. There’s some VSticking branding right there. On the bottom, you can see, there’s your microUSB port for charging. You can see, I have a test sample. On the back have some more faux leather type of look there. Gives it some nice texture. I do like it.
On the top, you guys know, this is where I killed the IPV Mini V3 and I’m going to kill this one too on it. Not a spring-loaded 510, but that’s not my issue. My issue is this is not a 510. It’s a proprietary connection. I don’t know why these companies are insisting on that. I think they just would have been better off going with a 510 connection. I understand you guys want to sell atomizers. It was small enough where people were going to buy the atomizer that came with her or that’s or the disposable one. I just wish you would have kept it a 510. It just makes life so much easier. But this is an auto squonk just like the V3.
Bottle is a little different or squonk compartment, whatever you want to call it because it’s really not a bottle because it’s hard plastic. Let me show you what I’m talking about here. See that? Very, very hard, not squeezable at all. Got this little cutout here so you can get your nail in it and pull it down. I do like that. Here you can see, there’s where your metal tube is going to insert into. There’s a little hole there for air to escape when you’re filling it. When you’re filling it, you just shove your needle nosed bottle in there and squeeze the juice in. It’s a nice system, it really is. And the pump is nice and quiet. Now, there’s your metal tube right there. That’s going to go into the bottle or liquid compartment. That’s going to suck your juice up to the atomizer via the pump. So once you’re done filling the bottle, you simply take it and just pop it on just like that. It’s not loose, it doesn’t come out or anything like that. It actually stays up there pretty good, I do like that.
Let me show you both colors that they gave me at ECC. This is the one with the leather strip. This is kind of gunmetal with like a cracked glass looking thing going on. I’m diggin the gunmetal one. I love that one, I really do. SX Mini is coming out with a classier looking version of these two mods as well and I did get to try it at ECC.
So here it is next to the only thing I could really compare it to. This is the IPV V3 Mini. This is the one that I really liked, but it had a lot of issues. This fix some of those issues with the rebuildable. Very, very similar. They work very similarly. I actually think the VSticking looks a lot better. This looks a little cheaper when compared to these two but they do vape very similarly. Again, the rebuildables are not interchangeable between these two models. You can’t run the rebuildable on this model. You can’t run their disposables on this model. So just keep that in mind. But otherwise, very, very similar. They’re the same company so you’d expect them the specs are very, very close. I just want to show that to you because I know a lot of people love this mod, love this system. This one’s better. It’s better, it addressed a lot of the issues especially with the rebuildable portion. That’s a huge, huge win.
Let’s go over the atomizers included in the kit. This is the 0.3 disposable atomizer. This is the 0.3 disposable atomizer, they refer to this as an ADA. No removable drip tip. You cannot pull the barrel section off. It is not rebuildable. You can adjust the airflow. Basically, the same thing as the atomizer that’s on the IPV Mini V3 but they are not interchangeable. You cannot run this on the IPV. The other atomizer included in the package is the 0.1 ohm. Same exact thing, just a higher resistance. Same exact drip tip, same exact the whole nine yards. This one is just meant to be run at a lower wattage.
Now here’s something new and I don’t know if it’s coming in the kit. They gave this to me separately with the box at ECC. This is the rebuildable section. You can see, it has the proprietary connection. Ultem kind of barrel over here, which by the way, will not be ultem, they are changing it to black so it’s going to look like just like the ones that I showed you. Kind of neat that it’s rebuildable.
Let me show you what the deck looks like. Because it’s a proprietary connection, I have to put it on this mod in order to take the barrel section off. So there we go, there’s the barrel section. Again, remember, this is going to be black. Very much like a Wasp Nano, almost. Like a miniature version. You got your post holes over here, and over here, and the air flow is going right through the block. Here is where your air flow is coming in. It’s going through the block hitting that PC insulator and coming out underneath the coil. If you look down below there, I don’t know if you can see it. See that little hole right there? That’s where your juice is going to squonk out of.
So let’s throw a build in this thing and let’s check it out. So they give you a package like this with two stainless-steel spaced coils and you get two strips of cotton as well. In order to build this, like I said, very similar to a Wasp Nano. Just kind of get your coil in there, place it in the middle like that, might want to hold it in place a little bit, then get your screwdriver in there and just tighten things down. Once it’s in there and play around with coil placement a little bit, but there’s really no place to go. It should look something like that. We could probably go down a little bit. Let’s see, pop it down a little bit, just like that. That’s what you want it to look like. Now, you get your leads over here and you want to make sure you clip these. You want to make sure you clip them really tight because if you leave anything sticking out, they can scratch the inside of the barrel. So just make sure you get there as tight as you can and give it a snip. Same thing on the other side. Get it right on that curve right there and bang! Snip it down.
Once you got your coil all situated, you don’t really need to dry fire it because it’s a spaced coil okay. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to take our cotton strips, we’re going to pinch them on one end like so and we’re going to send them right through. Now, be careful because this is a smaller coil so you don’t want to wick it too tight. Then what you want to do is you want to make sure you cut your cotton to the proper length. So you want to cut your cotton right along the base there. See right there? Just like that. Switch it around, same thing on the other side, right along that base right there. Now you take your wicking tool and just pop those wicks in there. Let me just wet this thing down and get it started and then I can show you how it actually works.
Alright, let’s go over the menu system. Let me put it back to the beginning so I can show you from auto mode. Auto mode, you can see right there, there’s my firmware. Here’s your screen right here. Very simple screen, battery meter, temperature, preset, there’s P2, and P1. If you run in auto mode, the disposable RDA, the 0.3 on one, in P1, you’ll get 10-15W. In p2, you’ll get 20-25W. If you run the 1ohm disposable pod in P1, you’ll get 5-6W. In P2, you’ll get 10-12W.
Now, here is something that I had a really tough time figuring out because the menu system is a little convoluted. Let me show it to you and make sure you pay attention. When you want to go to DIY mode to run the rebuildable that I just built, you have to be unlocked. You have to press the plus and minus button together and you go into DIY mode. So now that’s going to show you your version and everything. You can see now, the screen changed, battery meter, 25 joules. There’s D1 DIY mode 1. Now, when you first put the rebuildable on here, if you don’t read the resistance, it’s just it’s not going to fire and it’s just going to run the pump. Let me show you the steps you have to go through in order to run the rebuildable. In DIY mode, you got to hit the fire button 5 times. Now you can see, I can adjust my joules, I can adjust my temperature, I can choose between Fahrenheit or Celsius. The TCR they’re recommending for stainless steel is 0.00088. You make that adjustment, hit the fire button. Now you see, this screen, you got to hold the plus or minus button down until it highlights and reads it. Once it reads it, you’ll be able to fire it without the pump turning on all the time. That’s how you get the DIY atomizer to work. I’ve seen other reviewers. They were like, they couldn’t get this mode working. No, it works, you just have to go through that step that I just showed you. That last step where you read the resistance is very, very important. If you don’t do that, if you don’t hold the plus or minus button down while that R comes up on the screen, when you go to fire it, all you’re going to do is get the pump going and it’s not going to fire. So trust me, you want to follow those steps and you’ll be rewarded with an actually really nice vape on this rebuildable. It’s fantastic.
Let’s take one more look at it all put together.

Alright, Insiders! Let’s get into those cons and pros.
First con’s going to be, when you use that rebuildable atomizer and you run this thing at like 30-32 joules, you are going to rip through the juice and you are going to rip through the battery life. It’s amazing, it’s a great vape, but you’re going to rip through the battery and the juice.
They’re still working with that proprietary connection, not a fan of it. It’s a con.
You guys know, it’s a pet peeve of mine. That charge port on the bottom, I hate them, con.
Another con that’s a little bit on the annoying side is this thing goes into sleep mode pretty fast. I wish it didn’t go into sleep mode so soon. It’s not a big deal, it’s just annoying.
But that’s it on the cons. There’s not a lot to complain about on this one. In fact, when you compare it to the IPV Mini V3, there’s actually a lot of improvements on this one and we’re going to cover them in the pros.
First pro is this thing, it’s classy-looking. I think it looks better than the V3. Awesome job, VSticking.
Love the auto squonk. It’s the same auto squonk system in the V3. It works well.
I love the DIY mode and the rebuildable option. That takes care of a ton of the cons that I had with the Mini V3. This thing is fantastic. The rebuildable option is awesome. The fact that you can pick what joules you want to run it at is fantastic and I like the way they did the DIY mode. It’s simple once you learn it.
Thing’s easy to fill, pro.
Easy to wick, pro.
So far, on the rebuildable one, I’m getting fantastic flavor and clouds. The non-rebuildable one is going to be just like the IPV Mini V3. The thing that really sets this apart is the rebuildable part and like I said in the down-low, that ultem is going to be changed to gray so you don’t gotta worry about that. I have a pre-release version.
But check out the flavor and clouds. I got it at 32 joules. Check this out. It’s just a beautiful. This tiny little kit could actually replace my full dual 18650 set up. That’s how much of satisfying vape I get off of it. It is phenomenal.
Getting back to the flavor, I get a really nice, warm, fully saturated vapor. The type of warmth that I like. And the reason I’m so impressed by it is because even though it’s not technically a pod, I would consider this more of an AIO kit, the warmth that you get on this thing is much warmer than most of the pod systems this size, on the market. It’s a huge pro. The heat, the warmth, it’s the type of vape I like. Awesome, job VSticking.
And the last pro’s going to be, this thing’s small and it’s pocketable. It’s a super easy carry.
So let’s talk about this one for a little bit, Insiders.
You know I kind of gave the IPV Mini V3 a little bit of a rough time. Even though it vaped well, it had a lot of things wrong with it that I didn’t like. And the main thing I didn’t like about it was that it did not have a rebuildable option. This VSticking version of it really takes care of that con in a great way. The rebuildable option on this is fantastic. Yeah, it’s a little small. It’s not the easiest to rebuild. It is pretty easy to re-wick. Now, the fact that this thing plows through juice at above 30 joules, I would have liked to have seen them come up with a squonk tank that has a sealable cap. So maybe I could buy some extras and I could carry around like, two of them in my pocket and when I run out, I can just pull this one out take the cap off the one in my pocket, put it on the old one, and pop the new one in there. I think something like that would have been kind of cool. I think they missed the boat a little bit on that option. But I’ll tell you this, if you are a fan of the IPV Mini V3, definitely check this one out. We’re going to have a link down below. This one is much better. I think it’s better-looking, I think it performs better, and I think the rebuildable option is a huge, huge pro. If you were undecided and you didn’t get a V3, get this instead. It’s fantastic. I’ve been using it. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it. The VSticking Smart kit is without a doubt DeucesJack approved.
Let’s go over some of the specs on the VSticking Smart kit. It measures in at 79mm x 47.5mm x 18.6mm. It has a 1400 mAh battery, with a 0.69 inch LED display in auto mode. When you are using the 0.3 ohm non-rebuildable option, P1 will get you 10-15W. P2 will get you 20-25W. In auto mode, when you’re using the 1ohm coil, the P1 setting will get you 5-6W. The P2 setting will get you 10-12W. In DIY mode, you have the choice to adjust it between 10-35 joules. It does have a 3ml capacity. It is an auto-squonk. The rebuildable atomizer measures in at 33.5mm x 15.5mm. The non-rebuildable one measures in at 28.1mm x 14mm. The VSticking Smart kit is available in eight different colors.
