Intro
What’s up, Insiders? DeucesJack at Vapinginsider.com. Today, I got an IP67 waterproof, dustproof, shockproof mod. That’s right, we’re talking about the brand new Wismec Reuleaux Tinker 2. Check out that beautiful green and grey color scheme. Big question is, is this one an Aegis Legend killer? Make sure you watch the whole review, find out exactly what I think.
Before we get into the video, make sure you check out our new merch site. You can get my tag line on a shirt, or a hoodie.
From Top to Bottom
Check that bad boy out. Nice in green. You guys know I love my green mods. That’s the Trough tank, I did a full review on that so we’re not even going to go over it. I’m just going to leave it in the box. We’re basically just going to go over the mod. I’ll put a link down below to the full review of the Trough tank.
Let’s do a little look around here. Got a little bit of texture here. Little bit of Wismec branding, some more texture. This faux leather piece here, snake skin piece, whatever you want to call it. It’s got a little bit of texture to it. Feels more plasticky than leather but it’s kind of nice. This provides some nice texture as well. I like the two tone, the grey and the green. That actually looks kind of nice. You can see, you got some Reuleaux Tinker 2 branding over there. Boy, wismec just doesn’t want to give up that Reuleaux name, huh? Same thing on the other side, some more texture, some more texture here. Check out that fire button. Nice fire button, raised, nice and clicky, real tactile feel to it. Nice big screen, plus, minus, and here is your micro USB port. Kind of gotta get your fingernails in there, and it’s waterproof. You can see, it’s a regular micro USb port, not a type C. make sure when you put this back in, that you put this plug in really good, nice and solid so you don’t get any water in there should you drop it in water on accident.
On the top side, we got 4 star screw holding everything in place. There’s that famous Reuleaux emblem. You can see, a little bit of a cut out here. I guess just in case you leak a little bit with your atomizer, it will get caught in there first. You have some stainless steel threading around the inside, gold-plated 510 which I would say has a short throw with a medium spring to it. Not a long throw on that 510 at all.
On the bottom side of the mod, you can see we have some battery venting. Kind of push it over like that, you hear it click, and then it pops open. You got a little spring over here, that’s what gives you that spring-loaded action. Over here, you got negative and plus. I like it, it’s clearer than just gold on gold but actually is a little white. I like that. Gold-plated button style contacts over here. You got 4 Phillips head screws holding everything in place. Not sure you can see that down the tube. But down the tube, there is a blue and red plus and minus sign with a gold-plated, spring-loaded battery contact. In order to load you batteries, negative side up over here, positive side over here. Pop this down and secure that latch. And this thing ain’t going nowhere. It don’t move. Nice, solid battery door. No battery rattle at all.
Menu System
Let’s turn it over. Check out that beautiful color screen. You can see, you got your day of the week, you got your date. That’s your clock right there, wattage and ohms. You can change all that. Separate battery meters right there. I’m going to show you how to change the different screens. Easy menu system, basically the same as the Tinker, just a different skin. 3 clicks, you can see I have a choice between mode, settings, info and exit. If I hit the mode button, there’s a choice between power, TC, TCR, and RTC. RTC, you’ll notice, yo saw the clock feature before, right? You can change it to digital and then you get a digital clock on the front there. I kind of like the one on the background so I keep that one on. So let’s do that again. Let’s change that back to the pointer one. There you go.
Back into mode, let me show you what the TC looks like. In TC, you got a choice between Ni, Ti, and stainless steel. Let’s put it into stainless steel. Now you can see, I have it set pretty set high because while the temperature control on this isn’t typical Wismec, it isn’t that terrible. It is about 50 degrees light. I normally vape at 500. When I vape this in TC, I vape at around 550 because I feel like it’s about 50 degrees light. And here’s the thing with this chipset too. If you want to change the wattage in TC mode, hit the button 3 times, now you gotta go to set, and now you gotta go to power and you gotta change the wattage in there. No big deal. It’s one extra step. I wish there was a short cut for it.
Now, you also have a choice between stealth mode and subpara. Subpara is going to let you figure out what you display on the screen. If I change it to amps, exit, exit, now you see my amps show up over there. And there is my temperature right there. If I would have put it into power mode, you would see my wattage right there, my ohms right there, and my amps right there. You have a couple of different ways you can set up the screen. Let’s go back into the settings. We went over stealth, subpara. You have a clock feature, preheat feature. Now remember, with the preheat on this one, there’s no soft, medium, and hard. Basically, what you’re going to do is like, say you want to vape at like, 100W. But for the first half a second, you want it to hit at 110W. What you gotta do in that scenario is you gotta hit that power button here, you gotta set your wattage here, and then you gotta set the duration. You want it to hit at 125W for like the first have a second, you would just set it up at 0.5. And that’s how you control your preheat on this one. I don’t normally use preheat so we’re going to keep it off. And then you got your exit button right there. You also have your time out, and then exit. Over here, you have you info. You can see what your battery is doing. Let’s you know what’s going on. You can see your firmware version right here and then exit. And then there’s also another exit button right here that brings you back to the main menu screen. That’s it. There’s not a lot to go over on this one. If we hold the plus and minus together, it locks the keys. What that’ll do is that’ll lock the up and down button but you can still fire it.
That’s it, folks. That’s the whole menus system.
Size Comparison
Wanted to give you a quick size comparison. Of course, the Tinker 2 is in the middle. This is the new Geekvape Aegis X, and this is the Aegis Legend. It’s probably closer to the Aegis Legend. It looks very, very similar, the way they laid it out and the way it feels in the hand. This has a more rubbery feel to it. Feels almost like you got a spare tire around there. Just feel a little bit more drop proof than something like this. Both of them are waterproof. This is the new Aegis X, definitely has that rubberized coating around it, big ass screen. We’re going to be reviewing this real, real soon. But you can see, both dual batteries. The new Aegis X is definitely a little shorter, definitely a little bit more comfortable in the hand that this one. As far as the Legend goes, as far as feel in the hand goes, this is heavier than the Legend. They’re both gearing for the same market. Very, very similar as far as the overall footprint goes.
Water Test
Let’s see if this thing passes the waterproof test. You can see, it is on. No jump cuts, bang! Right in the water. Is it still on? Yes it is. It’s in the water, there’s no doubt about that, still works. So it passes the waterproof test.
The Tank
Also included in the kit is a Trough tank. Remember we did a full review on that? We’ll have a link down below. You get a spare bubble glass, a spare coil, a rather long micro USB cable. You get some spare gaskets over here, a rather fit Tinker 2 user manual, a Trough user manual. You get a coil reference card and a warning card.
Here it is all put together. I want to show it to you put together since it is a kit. I really wish they would have matched the tank to the mod. Either with that green color or that gunmetal, greyish sort of color. I think that would have looked better.

Cons
Alright, Insiders! Let’s get into the cons and pros. We’re going to start off with cons as usual.
First con is going to be, the screen is nice and large. I just don’t think wismec did a good job of using that space efficiently. Some of the fonts on the screen are actually really small and I have a tough time seeing it sometimes. I gotta chalk that up to a con.
This thing scrolls really, really slow. I mean, unusually slow. That’s a con.
No rubber coding on this thing like the Aegis Legend. It’s all metal and it feels solid but I wish they would have rubberized a little bit of this. I would feel better dropping this. When I drop the Aegis Legend, I’m like, “It’s all rubbery, nothing’s going to happen to it.” If I drop this, it kind of feel like I’m going to dent it as opposed to the Legend. So I think it’s a con that they didn’t use any type of soft rubber-like material on the mod.
And the last con is going to be, and it’s kind of the nature of the Beast when you build this bulletproof type mods. This thing is a little bit on the heavy side, I gotta point that out.
But that’s it on the cons, not really a lot to complain about. Let’s move on to the pros.
Pros
First pro is going to be, look at it, I’m digging that green and grey color scheme. It’s a good looking kit, there ain’t no doubt about it.
It’s waterproof. It’s shockproof. It’s dustproof. It’s IP67 rated, that’s a pro on this channel. I love mods like this. These bulletproof types of mods. Awesome job, Wismec.
Comes with a really good tank, it comes with that Wismec Trough that I just reviewed.
It’s a really decent tank. It’s got good flavor and good clouds, nothing wrong with it at all.
It’s got a nice, clicky fire button. It fires fast.
Love the color screen.
I do like the different texture on the mod that I went over down low. I like the way it feels in the hand. You can get a grip of it, it’s nice.
Nice flavor and clouds. Let me show you what I’m working with here. I got the dual mesh coil in there, at 65W. Check it out. Nothing wrong with that. The flavor is there too. Like I said in my original review of this tank, it’s a good tank. It’s a middle-of-the-road type of tank. One thing is for sure. As far as the tank and the mod go, as a pair, you can definitely do a lot worse. I like the combination, it’s a good combo.
I definitely love all the different color schemes it comes in.
Solid, solid battery door. That battery door don’t move, it’s a pro.
And the last pro is going to be, you got 2 amp internal charging for those times when you’re in a pinch. But we recommend that you go buy yourself a legitimate external charger. But it’s nice to have that option when you are in a pinch.
Those are my pros and cons, Insiders. Let’s talk about this one a little bit.
Conclusion
Listen, if you’re into those bulletproof mods, those Aegis Legend type of mods, this is another very, very viable option. Even though it’s a bit heavy, I do like the overall kit. I think if you’re into those types of mods, you should definitely check out the link down below.
