Comes in Gold, Rainbow, Python Grey, Serpentine Black, Kingsnake White -which is what I got- Serpentine Red, Serpentine Yellow, Serpentine Blue.

We’re going to cut down low. I’m going to show you everything. The tank, the mod, the menu system, we’re going to go over it all. See you down low.

  • 1 0.2ohm MS-H Coil
  • 1 0.25ohm MS Coil
  • 1 Standard Glass
  • 1 Bubble Glass

Alright, everyone! Welcome to the downlow portion of this video. Today we’re going over the Sigelei Sobra kit.

Quick tour around the box. Sigelei branding, some underage warning over there, Manufactured by Sigelei, some other stuff over there. On the back of the box, we got some specs. Good for 10W-198W. Fires down to as low as 0.05 ohms. 200-570 degrees fahrenheit temperature control range. 2.5 amp charging. Tank has a capacity of 5.5mls.

Let’s open this thing up and let’s see what we got here.

In the box, the first thing you’ll notice is we have a ton of paperwork. Here is your Moonshot tank user manual. Here is you replacement 510 instruction card. Here is your warranty card. You also get a security code, instruction booklet and you get a user manual. Inside the box, you get a spare parts bag with o-rings and the other 510. You get a spare straight glass, that’s going to be a con. You get a spare coil. No mesh coil here, this is just a straight up 0.25 coil, good for 40-80W. Just a regular coil. There are your juice ports, coil inside, plenty of cotton, flat bottom on the bottom of the coil. A little bit of a knurling over here so you can get a grip when you’re installing it. You also get a black charging and update micro USB cable.

From Top To Bottom

The Tank

And here is the tank. Please excuse the condensation. They only sent me one so I didn’t have a clean one to work with. Take the top cap off. It’s all one piece. Top cap and mouthpiece, ultem. A little bit of a knurling there so you can get a grip. Inside there, is threaded plastic on the metal. I don’t like that. They should have at least put a metal ring in there. That’s going to be a con. You also have that flapper thing going on right here. Some people are going to like that. Some people are not.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

Nice bubble glass, 5.5ml capacity. Like the bottom AFC ring. It matches the mod beautifully. 2 airflow slots, cyclopes style, adjustable. Whatever you adjust on one side, happens on the other side. Stoppers on both ends. On the bottom of the tank, we have some Sigelei branding, Moonshot 120 branding over here. Gold-plated 510 connection with an insulator ring around it. Stainless steel threading over here.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

In order to access your coil, you simply unscrew the base, just like that. Again, apologies for the used coil. I only got one. I did not have a clean one to work with. In order to take the coil out, like every other sub ohm tank, you give it a little twist and there it is. This is the 0.2 ohm coil, good for 60W-120W. You can see it’s a little dark in there. I definitely been using it.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

Let me show you how to fill this thing. Juice we’re going to be using today is MNGO +Strawberry. This stuff is really really nice. In order to fill the tank up, you just take your juice bottle, stick it right in there by the flapper, give it a little squeeze. You’ll see, it’s filling up nicely and it’s all filled up. Turn it upside down, no juice comes out. Put your top cap back on and we are ready to vape.

The Mod

Here is the backside of the mod. You have some Sobra branding here with a cobra snake. You got some red eyes over here. These don’t light up but the ones on the front of the mod do but they are not programmable. Real nice snakeskin type of look. When I first saw it, I was like, “Man, that’s kind of ugly.” but it really did grow on me.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

On the top of the mod, we have a gold-plated, spring-loaded 510. I would call it a loose spring with a rather long throw. Stainless steel plate over here. Stainless steel threading over here, two star screws holding everything in place. 25mm atomizers are all that’s going to look good on here and the only reason being is because of the contour on the top here. Something bigger may not overhang the mod itself but it’s going to overhang this platform.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

Here are the eyes that actually light up. See that? That’s the fire button. It’s almost camouflaged. They really did a great job in hiding it. Same thing for the plus and minus button. Here’s the plus button, here’s the minus button. Here is your micro USB port. These buttons are almost big enough where you could have put a plus on this side and a minus on this side. In fact, a lot of times when I’m adjusting it, I go over here in the minus and I’m like, “Ah, damn!” That’s right, the minus button is down below. So just make sure you’re aware of that.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

Nice sized screen over here. On the bottom, we have a really nice battery door. They did a good job with it. You push down and pull out and the door comes open. On the door, you do have some battery indicator markings. You have a negative here and a positive here. Button style, gold-plated contacts. No markings down the tube. On the bottom of the tube, there are two gold-plated, spring-loaded contacts. That’s going to be a con, this is terrible battery indicator markings right here. They’re not really bright or vivid enough and there’s nothing down the tubes so they’re going to get a con for that.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

Install the batteries, positive on that side, negative on this side. Push down and in. And it stays on there pretty solid. It does not come off when I put it down on a table.

Mod goes on. Here is your screen. Dual battery meters over here, percentage over here. I’m in wattage mode at 68W. I have 964 puffs on it. My resistance is 0.24, my volts are 4.02. Nice bright screen, very well laid out.

Menu System

In order to access the menu system, three clicks takes you to the mode part. Here, you can adjust it in TCR, Ni200, Titanium or stainless steel. Put it to stainless steel. We’ll go with Stainless Steel 316, Fahrenheit. And now you’ve seen the screen change, SS316, 470 degrees Fahrenheit. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to adjust the wattage in temperature control mode. I don’t think there’s a way, I’ve tried every button combination known to man. Let’s put it back into Power mode, go over the rest of the menu system.

Three clicks put us in the menu system. We can go down the screen right here. You have that GUI and that GUI right there. That one’s a little busier looking. I tend to like the cleaner one better with the dual battery meter. Go back into the menu system and here is where you can adjust your brightness. Right now, I only have it in 40% and it’s super bright. I’ll crank it up to 100 for you so you can see it. It’s a really bright gorgeous screen. You can see it in all lighting conditions.

Three clicks, let’s go to the set menu. Here you can set power savings. You can zero out your puffs and you can set your preheat. Preheat is in either user, hard, normal or soft. I normally leave it in normal. If you hold the plus and minus button together, it will show you what your batteries are doing individually. If you hold the minus and fire button together, you can lock the mod. The mod will not fire when it’s locked. If you hold the minus and fire button again, it unlocks the mod.

And that’s really it, man. We’re done with the menu system. One really cool thing I like about this mod, see when I fire it? See that eyes light up? I like that, man. I kind of think that’s cool.

Let’s cut back on top, let’s vape on it. We’re going to talk about it, cons, pros, and then we’re out of here as usual. See you back on top.

General Thoughts

Alright, everyone! We’re back on top with the Sigelei Sobra kit and I have to say, I like the looks of this thing. I really do. I love the form factor. The form factor, the way this thing feels in the hand is just phenomenal. They did a great job matching that tank up.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

I absolutely despise that Ultem top cap. I don’t know why they did that. Why they didn’t go with black? There’s just so many things wrong with it. Threading metal onto plastic, that’s a bad thing. You can’t take the drip tip out. I just hate so many things about that top cap. They just shouldn’t have done it. Sigelei, that was a bad job. If you strip that thing, you’re just shit out of luck, basically.

The buttons are kind of weird because they really almost camouflaged onto the mod. You really can’t see them. I don’t know if that was intentional or not but I would have like them to be in a different color so I can see them. The TC on it is anemic and it’s anemic because there’s no wattage adjustment. I don’t know why even bother putting TC on it if you’re going to do that. Sigelei, you really got to start working on your TC game. It’s really a shame. Jus stop including it. Just make power mode mods. If you’re just going to do such crap TC, then don’t even bother. That’s the way I feel, at least.

And my other really real complaint about this thing is the resistance jumps around a lot and the chipset is constantly rereading my resistance when I go to vape on it and that really bothers me. I don’t like that. It tells me that there’s probably an issue with the 510 connection. Again, here we go again, right with the crappy 510s.

But let’s get into the pros and the cons. We’re going to do the cons first because we like to end everything on a positive note.

First con is going to be, I said it already, Ultem top cap. Cheap, doesn’t match. Can’t use your own drip tip. That’s a con.

Plastic on metal threading, I already said it, con.

Resistance jumps around, that’s a con.

Those camouflaged buttons, for me, that’s a con. Some people may think that’s cool but I don’t like it.

The looks, we’re going to give it a con on the looks because the looks aren’t for everyone. Very subjective looks so we’ll give them a con for that.

The coils are overrated. I’m going to give them a con on that. Above 85W, it just doesn’t keep up. It’s an overrated coil. I wouldn’t push it past 80-85W so they’re getting a con for that.

They included a spare glass but they included a straight glass spare. I keep telling companies this all the time. Nobody wants to downgrade form a bubble glass to straight glass. You’re going to do a bubble glass, do a bubble glass spare. So you’re getting a con for that.

Let’s get into the pros because there’s a few of them.

Tank has the 5ml capacity, that’s a pro.

The coils are flavorful as long as you vape them below 85W. I’ll give them a pro for that.

Sigelei Sobra Kit Review

Form factor. The form factor on this thing is absolutely awesome. It feels great in the hand. They’re getting a pro for that.

I love those LEDs that light up on the eyes. We’ll give them a pro for that.

25mm without any overhang, pro.

The screen is very bright and vivid. It can be seen in all lighting conditions. We’ll give them a pro for that.

Unfortunately, I really can’t recommend this mod because of the performance issues and what I mean about performance issues is it doesn’t vape bad. It doesn’t. I just don’t like the fact that my resistance is always jumping around and the chipset is constantly rereading my resistance. That bothers me. I don’t like that. I don’t feel safe. I can’t in good conscience recommend this mod unless Sigelei actually fixes that. And that’s where I’m going to leave it.

We’re going to have a link down below as to where you can buy this mod. Just in case you still want to pick it up. We’ll also have a link down below to the juice that I was using today, the MNGO +Strawberry. It’s a mango strawberry with a little bit of a cooling agent. Great summertime vape.
