First Impression out of the Box

DeucesJack: What’s up, everyone? DeucesJack at and that massive cloud you’ve just seen me chuck is from the Smok TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition. I don’t know where they come up with these names man they’re so long. 28mm tank, it’s 28mm in the middle with the bubble glass, 7 ml capacity with the bubble glass. They got an 8 ml optional, separate purchase globe glass. There is a 2 ml TPD version. It comes with three coils, two mesh and a double clapton. It also comes with an acrylic bubble glass that I have installed right now and a matching drip tip. But if you’ll notice, see how it’s light on the bottom and dark on top? That’s because this tank, as it heats up, changes colors. That’s kind of cool.

Let’s cut down low. Let me show you everything up close. We’ll come back on top. We’ll talk about it, cons, pros, and we’re out of here. See you down low.

Alright, everyone! Welcome to the down low portion of this video. Today, we’re going to be going over the Smok TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition. Check that out. This kit actually includes three coils. You get the V12 Prince strip coil, that’s the one that comes pre-installed. You get the Prince mesh coil and you get the double Clapton coil. Nice that they included three coils. I think that’s a phenomenal job. Here is your scratching check right here, along with the barcode.

On the back, it tells you exactly what comes in the box. You get the Cobra tank. You get the three coils I just mentioned. You get a bulb acrylic glass, a replacement acrylic drip tip that matches the glass user manual and spare parts. It also comes pre-installed with a bubble glass so that’s an awesome job by Smok.

Let’s open this up and let me show it to you. A little bit of silica gel there, file that to the side. Here is the tank, we’re going to go over that in a minute. In the packaging, you get a TFV12 Prince Cobra manual. You also get an atomizer, warning card that tells you how to prime your coils and there’s a QC pass on the back of that. Here is your spare acrylic glass, they did a really nice job with that. I think it’s just beautiful. You also get a bunch of spare o-rings and a spare gasket for the top fill. Here is your matching drip tip. It’s a typical Smok 810 style drip tip with the o-rings on the outside but this one’s a little different. It’s got that little curvature in the middle. I think they did a phenomenal job matching it up. I think it looks great and it looks awesome on the tank itself. We’re going to put that to the side.

You also get a 0.4 ohm coil rated from 40-80W with a 60-70W best of rating. That is your double Clapton coil, plenty of cotton in there. Vapes real nice. I have vaped on it. The other coil included in the package is the 0.15 ohm coil. This is a mesh coil, good for 40-80W with a best-of rating of 60-70W. Again, I vaped on it. Very, very flavorful coil. Nice job on this one, Smok. All of the coils do not have the coil material. In other words, the metal listed on them. That’s going to be a con,

From Top To Bottom

Moving on to the tank, you can see, this thing is just gorgeous. Beautiful, beautiful anodized blue look. Really nice drip tip included. Same thing as the drip tip. I just showed you 810 with the o-rings on the drip tip itself. Here is your catch cup, clear indicator marking. And here is your locking mechanism. In order to unlock the top fill, you push that little button and you slide it open.

There is your fill port right there. I do wish that was a little bigger. Needle nose bottles only here, bullnose bottles will make an absolute mess. You do get a spare gasket. Some nice knurling along the topside. They did a nice job with that. It feels nice and smooth. Machining is definitely on point. They also change the airflow a little bit, from the regular TFV12, they kind of hold it out here and it really is a little smoother. The airflow adjustment ring has a nice tolerance to it. Stoppers on both sides, whatever you adjust on one side happens on the other side. They also put some nice knurling here for a good grip.

On the bottom of the tank, we have Designed by Smok. Stainless steel 510 connection, insulator ring around it. Stainless steel threading over here. In order to access the tank, like every other sub ohm coil, you simply twist the base off. Out comes the base with the coil installed. Let’s put the rest of the tank to the side for a second and go over this coil.

This is your strip coil. 0.15 ohms, good for 40-100W, best of rating from 80-90W. You can see, it’s got a certain sort of mesh in there. This is probably my favorite coil out of all of them. Definitely the best one. In order to remove the coil, you simply give it a twist and the threading is nice and smooth. The coil comes out no problem. Here is your tank section. In order to replace the glass, you give it a little pop. Bubble glass comes right out. It is a stock bubble glass. Now, in order to take this cage out, you just give it a pull. It’s held in place by a secondary o-ring, right there. This is just for show, probably actually lowers your capacity a little bit. You can run the tank with or without it. I kind of like it with it. I think it looks kind of cool.

If you want to install the acrylic glass, you simply slip it over and pop it on, like that. Take your base, push it on and screw it down, just like you would any other sub ohm tank. Then you can install your matching drip tip. I think that looks absolutely fantastic.

Let’s cut back on top. Let’s talk about it. We’re going to vape on it. We’ll go over cons and pros and then I hope you don’t go anywhere because we got a giveaway on this very tank. See you back on top.

General Thoughts

Alright, everyone! We’re back on top with the Smok TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition. You saw it down low man, you get three coils with this thing. That’s a big win. Plenty of extras in the package. I like that. I know a lot of people complained about the coils when this tank first came out, they said the coils were kind of janky. I saw some other reviews. I’m a little late to the game on this one. I personally have not had that problem with any of the coils. I vaped on all three of them. All three of them vaped beautifully, to be honest with you. So I don’t know if Smok addressed the problem or if some of those people just got a bad batch. But that has not been my experience.

The one thing I will say about this tank is they changed it a little bit from the TFV12. They made that airflow a little smoother by changing the shape of it and I definitely like that. It’s a nice improvement.

Let’s get on to the cons and the pros.

First con’s going to be that mesh cage. That kind of blocks the information on the coils. You can’t see it. I don’t know about you but sometimes I’ll be looking at a tank and I’ll be like, “What’s this coil rated at?” You can’t do that with that cage over there. It’s optional. You can pull the cage out but it’s still a con for me even though it looks good. I’m going to give it a con because of the functionality of it.

No 510 drip tip adapter, con. This thing is a juice sucker. You better DIY or have a cheap source for juice because this thing rips through the juice.

Other con is going to be, it’s a bit pricey. I’ve been seeing it for over $40 almost everywhere. That’s a little pricey for a sub ohm tank especially when you consider the competition out there. So I’m going to give them a con for that.

Let’s get into the pros.

First pro I mentioned already, plenty of extras. That’s a pro. I love this changing color one. I don’t know why. I just like it. I think it’s badass. I’m going to give them a pro for that. They also got one that changes from red to white. This one goes from blue to white, more like a blue to sky-blue but I still like it. It’s different.

It’s got a great capacity, 7 mls. 8 mls if you get the optional globe glass. That’s kind of cool, man. That’s some big capacity. I like that. I’m going to give them a pro for that.

Locking top cap, pro.

Smok TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition Review

Great drip tips. Two awesome drip tips, very comfortable, pro.

Matching acrylic extras, they match the tank to the drip tip beautifully. I like that. I’m giving them a pro.

The airflow is smoother than the OG TFV12, pro.

Three coils in the box, pro.

Awesome flavor and clouds. I’m getting great flavor and great clouds off of all the coils. My favorite coil is the strip coil but the other mesh coil is really good too, and there’s nothing wrong with that Clapton coil either. So they’ll get a pro for that.

Mesh cage, I think that mesh cage looks great. Yeah, it interferes with the functionality but there’s no doubting that it looks awesome on it. We’ll give them a pro for that.

Smok TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition Review

The last pro I’m going to give it, tons of colors like all Smok products. This thing’s available in a plethora of colors. Definitely check it out. You’ll be able to find one you like.
