First Impression Out Of The Box:

Today we have another pod system for review. I was sent the Suorin Drop but from Vape4life. From the moment I opened the package I have to say that I was very impressed. The packaging was done nicely and your Drop comes in a slider style box. Slide the box out of the sleeve and you are greeted with another box that has some texture to it with a picture of a life-size Drop on the box.

Inside the box, you will find the Drop pod system itself with a pre-installed pod. I was a little surprised that there is not a spare pod included. There is also the usual books and stuff as well as a USB charging cable. Suorin really needs to contract somebody that actually speaks English to write their manual. The manual has to be done in some of the worst English I have ever seen.

When I first took the pod out of the box it has a very egg-like shape to it. I’m probably dating myself by saying this, but the pod actually reminds me of a Partridge Family egg. C’mon get happy! That’s exactly what it looks like to me. It’s really slim and I really do like the shape. The texture of it is very nice as well. It has a matte finish with a rubbery feel.

What’s In The Box:

  • One Sourin Drop Ultra Portable System
  • One Sourin Drop Atomizer
  • One Warning Card
  • One User Manual
  • One USB Charging Cable

Suorin Drop Pod System Review

From Top To Bottom:

The Mod:

The Suorin Drop is an all-in-one system that is draw activated. It has a 13-watt maximum output. With the pod system out of the actual mod, you’ll see two gold-plated proprietary contacts inside the mod. There are also LED battery indicators that will let you know exactly what your battery life is doing. Of course, when the LEDs turn red, that means it’s time to charge. When they are blue that means you are fully charged. Ido wish there was another color at like 25% to tell you that you will need to charge soon. The mod does light up while you are vaping it to let you know what your battery is doing but it does not stay on long enough for you to actually see it. You almost have to be cross eyed to see it.

Suorin Drop Pod System Review

The Drop has a 310 mAh battery so battery life is not exactly the greatest. It also doesn’t charge as quickly as some other pod systems. The nice thing is it does have a pass-through feature so you can vape it while you are charging it. Another nice feature is that it charges with a regular USB cable. I say that’s a nice feature because there are way too many pods systems out on the market today that are using proprietary charging systems. I hate when I get a pod system like that because it’s just another thing that I have to carry around. Kudos to Suorin for realizing that and not going with a proprietary charging system. Well done!

Suorin Drop Pod System Review

As I alluded to earlier, the battery of the mod has a matte finish with a rubber-like feel. It’s extremely comfortable to hold and very pocketable. In the middle of the mod on the front side, there is a button like structure that has some Suorin branding on it. It’s not a button and I really don’t understand why it is actually there. I would have rather not have it there and have a totally smooth battery instead of that little bump in the middle of it. I guess you can make the case that it does provide some texture to a rather smooth mod. On the backside of the mod, there is some Suorin branding. The charge port is located on the bottom of the mod and the mod is made to lay flat on a table. It will stand up but it will be extremely easy to knock down because of the thin base. When you’re charging this you just want to lay it down on a table.

The Pod:

Really surprised and disappointed that only one pod comes with your Drop kit. Suorin claims that the pods are good for 5 to 6 refills. I have to admit that I am way past five refills and I have not noticed any significant loss of flavor. Of course, this is a refillable pod system and you can put your juice in on the bottom of the Pod system once you detach it from the mod.

In order to fill your Drop, there are two rubber gaskets that you need to pull open. I would highly recommend that you pull both gaskets open when refilling so you can let air escape and make filling a lot easier. The pod will take 2 mls of your favorite juice.

The coil inside the pod is a 1.3 to 1.4-ohm coil. I have tried all sorts of juices in it and after having the system for quite a while I would highly recommend that you use salt Nic based juices. For me, that is the way you will get the most satisfying hit off of this pod system.

Suorin Drop Pod System Review

Every juice company out there is starting to come out with a line of salt Nic based juices. If you can’t find one you like, I would highly recommend a Blvk line as well as the Ghost line. They make some extremely solid flavors that go really well with this type of pod system. Stay tuned for a full review of Salt Nic based juices.

The Look, Feel, and General Aesthetics Of The Mod:

I really like my little Partridge Family egg. I’m not too crazy about the color that I received. They sent me a sky blue one. When I went looking on the internet I saw a green one that I thought was really nice looking. I probably would have preferred a black or gunmetal as well. I do like the rubber texture and the way it feels in my hand. I also love the pocketability of this pod system. You could easily slip this pod into a front shirt pocket or a front jeans pocket. It is a perfect little pod system for stealth vaping.

Suorin Drop Pod System Review

I really like the overall shape of the Drop and the fact that the whole pod gets thrown out after use. I like the fact that every time you open up a new pod, you basically get a new drip tip system. Because of the way the pod is shaped and the way it comes to a point, it is very comfortable to vape on.

The Drop is available in Black, Gunmetal, Red, Matte Blue, True Blue, Green, Yellow and Gold.

How Does It Vape:

The draw on the Drop is very similar to some of the most popular pod systems on the market today. It has a Juul, Bo type of draw to it. The drawer is very smooth and it is definitely a MTL draw. It’s not a very tight MTL draw but what I would classify as a medium MTL draw. Vapers that are die-hard MTLers will love it. DL vapers will be able to get a satisfying vape off of this pod system to at least hold them over until they are able to get a hold of their regular setup.

What Would Make It Better:

  • Battery Light Indicator Needs To Stay On Longer
  • Include More Than One Pod

I like the way they did the battery light indicator system. I would like to see a change from Blue to a different color before it goes to red so I know my battery is on its way out. I would also like to see that light stay on longer so when I pull the device away from my mouth I can actually see what my battery life is doing. The way it is set up now you almost have to look cross-eyed at it while you are taking a pull in order to see what the battery life is doing. If they would have made the light stay on for another two or three seconds that would have been fine with me.

In this day and age to include only one pod in this kit is absolutely ridiculous. They should have included at least one more pod besides the one that is pre-installed. That’s just a cheap way to go and as a consumer, I really don’t appreciate it.

Conclusion:

All in all, this is a great little pod system that I have been getting a ton of use out of. I have been using this pod system for quite some time now and I have enjoyed my time with it. There are a bunch of new pod systems coming out on the market right now and I will be reviewing most of them. If it wasn’t for that fact, I would probably keep this in my daily rotation and actually buy more pods for it.

If you’re looking for a nice, little, stealthy, refillable, pod system that vapes well, then this would definitely be a consideration. Not only is a great for stealth vaping but it’s also great as a backup vape. You could easily slip this into a bag or your front pocket and not even know it’s there. Then, when you have the need for a backup or you are in a situation where you don’t want to blow you huge clouds, you could pull your Drop out and start vaping. I like this one a lot. This one is DeucesJack approved.
