All right, everyone! Welcome to the downlow portion of this video. Today, we’re going to be going over the Tesla XT 220W kit. Yes, it does come with two 21700 batteries.

Tesla XT Kit Review

On the back of the box, it lets us know what the contents of the packaging are. 1 XT mod, 1 USB cable, 5 silicone rings, two user manuals, 1 Tallica Mini tank, TS-XX coil 0.18 ohms mesh and a replacement glass tube. Here is your authenticity check, here is your barcoding. There is your mod. Here are all your paperwork, QC certificate, spare o-rings, battery safety card, Tallica Mini instruction manual, XT 220W user manual.

In the packaging, you’ll also get a spare glass, spare coil, that we’ll go over in a moment. You also get two Tesiyi batteries. They did come with plastic covers on the bottom just so they could ship safely. 21700 batteries, you also get a USB cable for charging and updates and here is the Tallica Mini tank.

From Top To Bottom

The Tank

Let’s go over the tank. Please excuse the condensation, I did just clean it for this review. On top here, we have an 810 style drip tip with the o-rings on the drip tip itself. Top cap is plastic but they did include some metal threading on the inside. Great job on that, Tesla, especially if you insist on using a plastic cap. The plastic does have some nice knurling around here and it is pretty easy to get a grip on it. Here are your fill ports. Large, big, beautiful fill ports that will accommodate any type of juice bottle. Threading on the top cap, very, very smooth. No issues at all with it.

Tesla XT Kit Review

On the bottom, we have some Teslacigs branding. We have a stainless steel 510 insulator ring around it and some stainless steel threading, over here. On the bottom airflow, this is a bottom airflow tank. You have an airflow control ring that is made out of the same type of plastic as the top cap. Stoppers on both ends, whatever you adjust on one side happens on the other side. A little bit of Tallica Mini branding right here.

Tesla XT Kit Review

Like every other sub ohm tank, if you want to replace your coil, you simply unscrew the base. Threading on the inside is nice and smooth. You can see that the cover here, the barrel here that goes over your coil has some slots to allow juice to flow freely to your coil. That is not juice flow control. Not much of a conical design. A little bit of a step up over here, but not much, but you can also see it’s a very short chimney section, so the flavor is right there on the coil.

Tesla XT Kit Review

Here is the 0.15 ohm mesh coil, good for 60-110W. Has a best-of rating from 70-90W. See that mesh inside? Really really nice. Like those diamond shaped juice ports, nice job on that. Big o-ring over here to keep everything nice and dry, I like that. Little bit of Tesla branding over here. I don’t like the fact that Tesla did not include the coil material, that’s definitely going to be a con.

The way to install your coil is you pop your coil in there. Make sure it’s seated correctly because it is a tight fit. Then you take your base, you thread it on. Threading is nice and smooth. And that’s it, now you’re ready to vape, after you fill the tank up and prime the coil.

The Mod

Let’s go over the mod. Here is the Tesla XT 220 mod. You’ll notice, you have a bunch of LEDs here under like a plastic type of glass. This also lights up. Very industrial, futuristic looking. You have a physical on/off button right here. That’s very clicky. That’s a Tesla thing, I love it. Would love to see it on other mods. Here is your square fire button with rounded edges. This is your screen, it is a vertical screen. Plus button, minus button, charging update port right here. On the other side, just some metal with some XT branding. On the back side, some nice curves and contours that give it a nice feel. On the top of the mod, we have a stainless steel 510 connection right here. We have a plate there with some air slots over here. Gold-plated, spring-loaded 510 that I would call a medium throw with a medium spring. Threading around there is very, very smooth. Like these little cutouts over here. I think they did a nice job with that.

Tesla XT Kit Review

30mm atomizers look absolutely horrible on it. Look at that, see that overhang? See that big platform there? I just don’t think they look good. 25mm atomizers look a lot better on it. This is the Kali by QP Designs. You can see, no overhang on the platform. No overhang on the sides. I think the included tank actually looks really nice on it all put together.

Tesla XT Kit Review

On the bottom of the mod is where your battery door is located. Some venting over here, the type of door you push out and pull up. On the battery door interior, you can see the vent holes go right through. I like that. Button style, gold-plated contacts, clearly marked plus and minus, although I wish it was a different color inside the mod. When you get your package, you will get two Teslacigs 18650 battery adapters. They’re made out of hard plastic. I like them, I think they did a nice job on that. Down the battery tubes. you will see a plus and a minus sign clearly marked. On the bottom, there are also gold-plated, spring-loaded battery contacts.

In order to install your 21700 batteries, negative on that side, positive on that side. Push the latch down and push it in and now your batteries are installed.

You’ll see your screen comes up right away. On your screen, you have your battery meter, wattage, resistance. Whether your resistance is locked or unlocked, if there’s an ohm symbol there, it’s unlocked. Voltage, preheat, material and memory slot.

Menu System

Menu system is extremely simple. Check this out. Three clicks, notice the resistance is highlighted. If I click that, I can do the resistance lock. If I go to that little lock symbol and hit the button, I can unlock the resistance. Battery, if the battery is highlighted, it shows me what my battery is doing. Here is where I can pick my memory slots, M1, M2 and M3. Here is where I can pick my material. Kanthal, stainless steel 316, Ni200, TI or TCR. I’m going to put it in stainless steel 316 for the purposes of this. Now, you see my screen has changed. My degrees are over here, my wattage is over here and here is my materials showing that I’m in stainless steel mode.
If I want to change my wattage in temperature control mode, one two three. Now, I can change my wattage up or down in half watt increments. Nice job on that.

Let’s go back into wattage mode now. There, my preset is highlighted. I hit the fire button, I can go between normal, soft, hard or user. User is a typical user curve that you can customize. We’ve all seen that before.

Tesla XT Kit Review

That’s basically the whole menu system, as far as functionality goes. Let me show you the lights. In order to access the light menu, you hit the plus button and the fire button together. See? I’m in LED M3 that shows all the lights on that side. If I want to scroll to blue M4, it’ll all go in blue, red, green, purple. That’s way to off, that’s M1, that’s M2, and thats M3. And that’s it. As far as the lights go.

Let me put everything back together and give you one quick look at it as a kit. Here it is all put together with the tank that comes in the kit. Nice looking setup. Very, very heavy setup. Definitely not a small setup.

Let’s cut back on top, let’s vape on it. We’ll talk about it, cons, pros and then we’re out of here. See you back on top.

General Thoughts

Alright, everyone! We’re back on top with the Tesla XT kit. I tell you man, I’ve been enjoying my time with this thing. I really have. My one complaint about the vape quality on this thing is the TC is anemic at best. In fact, I wouldn’t even really call it TC. I’d call it more like dry hit protection. It’s extremely, extremely conservative. It’s just not good TC. One thing I really love about it though, is that on-off switch. I think that’s a bang-up job by Tesla. I love that it’s available in stainless steel, purple, green, gunmetal and blue. God, do I wish they would have sent me the green one because it’s beautiful. You got to see if the pictures do it any justice, definitely go check it out in the link down below. You’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.

Let’s get into the cons and pros.

Cons

First con’s going to be that 510 platform. Bad job on that, Tesla. Nobody wants those platforms.

Other con’s going to be the plastic on the tank, I don’t like the plastic top cap or the plastic AFC ring. What would have it take them to make it metal? I think it would have looked better.

Other con’s going to be, heavy mod. This is a really heavy mod. Man, you guys are looking for something light and pocketable, this ain’t it.

It’s also a big mod. We’ll give them a con for that too, okay.

I don’t know if it’s firmware upgradeable. I can’t find any information as to whether it is or isn’t. So for now, we’re going to say no and we’re going to give it a con for that.

And we’re also going to give it a con on what I touched on before, the TC is very anemic. It’s really not good TC.

Let’s get into the pros cause there’s plenty of them.

Pros

First pro’s going to be, the tank has good flavor. I like the flavor on the tank. They’ll get a pro for that.

Tesla XT Kit Review

The mesh coils are good. They’re nothing earth-shattering but they’re very good mesh coils. And you get two of them. We’ll give them a pro for that.

The on/off switch, they’ll get a pro for that. I love it.

Tesla XT Kit Review

Easy menu system, pro.

Let’s give them a pro for the lights. They can be turned off and they’re very subtle. I like that, pro.

This thing scrolls in half watt increments. I love that. They’re getting a pro for that.

Batteries included, pro.

18650 adapters included, pro.

They put a spare glass in the kit, pro.

It’s a very complete kit. You get everything you need except for juice. All you got to do is add juice, pro.

Going to give them a pro on the price point. I’ve been seeing this thing for under 70 bucks. That’s a great deal for such a complete kit.

I’m also going to give them a pro on the great build quality. You can feel it when you hold it in your hand. This thing’s solid as hell.

And I’m going to give them a pro on that screen layout. I love that vertical screen. They did a great job with it. Pro for that.
