Vaptio C-II

The Vaptio C-II is built very well, provides a fantastic vape, and it is extremely easy to use.

First Impression Out Of The Box:

Nice! This is one of those all-in-one pen type mods. There is no screen and it looks like it’s just one button and a charge port. The thing that really makes the C II stand out is the coating. This has a Vapor Shark like coating on the tube and the tank. It is just gorgeous and it’s the first thing you notice when you put this mod in your hand. Really well done and I absolutely love the finish so far. Hopefully, the finish holds up and this mod performs as good as it looks and feels.

From Top To Bottom:

The Mod:

Not much to go over here as this is an extremely simple mod. What we have here is a tube with a Vapor Shark-like finish. The tube does have a spring loaded, gold plated, 510. The threading is stainless steel and all other tanks I have used on it have sat flush. The platform of the 510 looks like a black chrome. It is really nicely done and it has some air slots in it as well. This 510 will hold 25mm atomizers with no overhang at all. The 510 is springy and it does have a really nice throw to it.

On the mod opposite the fire button, there is a USB port. This port is for charging and as far as I know, there are no updates available. Why would there be? This is a power mode only mod. The mod does include a 3000 mAh internal battery. It has a maximum output wattage of 100 watts and a maximum output voltage of 4.2 volts. It also has a maximum output current of 35 amps. While the battery on this mod does last quite a long time, it also takes a pretty long time to charge back up when vaped all the way down to 0%. It does take about 4 hours to fully charge this device from empty. This device would have definitely benefited from 2 amp charging.

Opposite the charge port, we do have a fire button. This is a one button mod so it is extremely simple to operate. Basically, 5 clicks of the fire button to turn the mod on and off. Simply use the fire button to vape and that is basically the whole menu system. On the bottom of the mod, there is some Vaptio branding as well as a hole for battery venting. Overall, I have to say that I am extremely impressed with the build quality and the look and feel of this little device. This mod does have one extremely annoying feature built into it though. It has an auto shut off after 10 minutes. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have vaped this mod and realized I actually had to turn it on. It is super annoying and I really do hate this feature. If anything, Vaptio should have made the shutdown time longer. More like a 30-minute auto shut off instead of 10 minutes.

The Tank:

The tank that is included with the C2 is also ensconced in the same Vapor Shark-like skin as the body of the mod. Unfortunately, Vaptio decided to go with a proprietary female drip tip. Everyone that reads my reviews knows that I absolutely hate these types of drip tips. This one is definitely comfortable but I would have rather had traditional 510 drip tip. The really sad part about this drip tip design is it is actually 510 compatible. In order to use your own traditional 510 drip tips, you have to take the female cover off. What that does is it exposes the male side of the top cap and the big clear o’ring that is used to hold on the female side of the drip tip. So yeah, you can drop a 510 drip tip in there if you don’t mind seeing this big clear oring exposed on your tank. Just a bad job and a bad design. I don’t know when companies are going to start listening to vapers and start designing atomizers with the drip tips that we all want? Rest assured, just like the janky TC on some mods, I will continue to point this out until they start listening.

The top cap on the tank has some nice knurling on it and it is rather easy to get on and off for filling. This tank does have a top fill design and once you remove the top cap, the opening is basically wide open. Vaptio did include this rubber kind of silicone gasket that I call a flapper. The first thing I did when I got this tank was ripped that thing out. It was just annoying and unnecessary. I would recommend that if you buy this kit, you do the same. Once you do that, you have a wide open top fill and you can use any type of bottle to top fill this tank. This tank does have a 5 ml capacity.

Vaptio C-II Review

The chimney on this tank is rather narrow and I am sure that contributes to the excellent flavor I get off of this tank and its coils. The base on this tank also has some knurling as well as some exterior bottom airflow. Of course, the airflow is adjustable and whatever you adjust on one side will happen on the other side. This tank takes two types of coils, one is a drop in style and the other is a screw in style. I have used both coils with much success. I wasn’t too sure at first about the drop-in style of coil and whether it would leak or not but it has proven to be leak proof. The threading on the base of the tank is very nice and smooth as is all the threading on this tank. Turn the base over and there is no branding on the base. It has a mirror-like finish but no branding at all. The 510 pin looks to be stainless steel and the threading on it is buttery smooth as well.

The Coils:

The Vaptio C II starter kit comes with two coils included in the box. Vaptio has named them the 129a and the 180a. Both are made out of Kanthal and have a resistance of .25 ohms. One is threaded and the other is a drop in style. The 180a is the drop in style and the 129a is the threaded coil. Performance-wise, I can honestly say I did not notice much of a difference. I did enjoy both coils and I think they are both very comparable to each other. I do know that the 180a does max out at 60 watts and the 129a maxes out at 50 watts. Like I said though, there really wasn’t a discernible difference between vape quality or cloud production. Both coils were extremely flavorful and cloudy for what they actually are. The longevity on both coils has just been phenomenal. I have had this setup for quite some time and I get weeks at a time out of each coil. Bravo Vaptio, awesome coils! There are a bunch of other coils that come in at different ohms available for this setup but I have not tried them yet. They do have coils that are made out of Ni, TI and SS 316. There is also a Clapton and ceramic coil available for this setup. It looks like Vaptio is taking this mod seriously and they have developed a nice family of coils for it.

The Look, Feel, and General Aesthetics Of The Mod:

This little simple mod is just awesome. It has a great look to it. It feels awesome in your hand. The overall comfort factor and pocketability are just phenomenal. There is really not much more I can say about this mod in this section. This is for the people that like to grab something small and light but still insist on a quality vape. You can easily put this mod in a shirt pocket or any other pocket. It’s just easy to carry and it feels great in your hand.

How Does It Vape?

While there is a full family of coils available to this kit, I have only tried two. The two I have tried are just phenomenal and I get great flavor and clouds. One of the things I truly like about this mod is the fact that it is so simple to operate yet it provides the user with an awesome quality of vape. There aren’t many mods on the market that can say that. This is definitely one of them. I have tried many different juices and even a few different tanks on this mod and it has performed flawlessly. The Vape quality has always been fantastic. This is just a little powerhouse mod that does nothing but perform.

What Would Make It Better:

  • 2 amp charging
  • 510 drip tip
  • Get rid of the auto shut off

For what this mod is and in its subcategory, the only three things that could possibly make it better would be faster charging, longer auto shut off, and a non-proprietary drip tip. If this thing charged at 2 amps and Vaptio used a traditional 510 drip tip, this setup would be extremely hard to beat. The most annoying thing about this kit is the auto shut off. I am constantly turning this thing back on. I hate that part of it. Vaptio, I am an adult. I am perfectly capable of turning off my own mod. Lose that feature in the future or at the very least, make the shut off time longer. This is a phenomenal set up just as it is, but those three things would have made it just a little bit better.

Conclusion:

Looking for a commuter mod or if you are just transitioning from cigarettes, you are definitely going to want to check out this kit. It is built very well, provides a fantastic vape, and it is extremely easy to use. I just don’t know what else you can ask for in a kit? This C II starter kit is, without a doubt, DeucesJack approved. I’m sure most vapers can find a spot for such an awesome little mod in their vape arsenal. Go get one and I promise you will not be disappointed.
