Wismec Active Kit Review

On the back there, we got some Wismec scratching check as well as some social media branding, some Wismec.com over there, some more Wismec branding, nothing there. Over here, it tells you what’s included in the kit.

Let’s open this thing up and check it out. Pause it right here if you want to read it. Look at that beauty. Check that out, man. You got a speaker over here, a rubber insert over here. We’re going to go over all of that. Let me put it on deck for now. You also get a spare parts pack with a bunch of o-rings. You get another Wismec box inside the box. Inside that box, you get a micro USB charge and update cable. You also get this, like, loop, I guess so you can hook it on to your belt buckle or bag or something like that. This is your 1.3 ohm coil good for 8-14W. It’s supposed to do well with Nic Salts. I did try it. I apologize for using the used coil. They only sent me one kit so I didn’t have a clean one to work with and I had to try it out for the review. It’s okay with Nic salts but I’ll be honest with you, this is not my favorite coil. You also get a Active user manual. You get an Amor NS Plus owner’s manual and you also get a coil card that lets you know what coils are available for this kit.

From Top To Bottom

Let’s go over the mod. You only have a speaker on one side but still, it’s kind of cool. Over here, this is where you turn it on. This is where you skip forward or backwards and then you can hit play on the music player. I wish these indicator markings were a little better. I wish you could see them better- they’re really tough to see. See right there? They gave me three extra ones of these rubber pieces that go around the mod. I’m going to take it off in a minute and show it to you but on all of them, the marking is is not clear. This is where you put that loop if you want to hang it off your like belt buckle or or bag or something like that. Kind of neat idea, man. I’m definitely diggin it. The speaker is definitely better than the speaker on every mobile phone out there so it does have a purpose.

Wismec Active Kit Review

Here is your Amor NS tank. Big tall drip tip, they did a decent job kind of matching it up with the paint on the speaker. Not bad, I’m kind of digging that. Drip tips very comfortable. Some people aren’t going to like it because it’s just too tall for them. Slider top fill, like that. Kidney bean shape over there to fill. Standard stuff, we’ve all seen this before.

Wismec Active Kit Review

On the bottom, this is kind of a versatile tank airflow wise. You can see that’s it wide open then you can cut it down and you can cut it down to that little hole for a mouth-to-lung draw. I don’t think this is a particularly good mouth-to-lung tank. At least that coil isn’t, I found it to be gurgly and I just didn’t like it. I didn’t like the vapor produced. I definitely like the bigger coil better which I’m going to show you in a second.

Wismec Active Kit Review

There is your Amor NS Plus branding on the back, stainless-steel 510, stainless steel threading, insulate a ring around it. Some Wismec branding over there. It comes pre-installed with this bubble glass. There is no spare glass so that’s going to be a con. Even though it’s plastic, there should be a spare one. This is my preferred coil on this setup. This is the 0.2 ohm coil, the triple one. Good for 40-80W. I’ve been rocking this one. I’ve definitely been enjoying it more than the mouth-to-lung coil.

Wismec Active Kit Review

In order to take the coil out, you simply give it a twist. It’s the screw in type of coil, screws right in. Threading is very nice, nothing wrong with it at all. You can see that coil screws directly into that chimney so you’re getting the flavor right off the coil. Doesn’t have a long way to go. I like the capacity on this tank. I’m definitely digging the bubble glass but the other coil is just not my favorite. I think the tank also looks real nice on the Active mod.

Here is the top side of the Active mod. We have a gold-plated, spring-loaded 510 that I would call a short throw with a stiff spring. 25mm only because there’s a platform here, anything else is going to overhang on it. It might not overhang on the mod but it’s going to overhang on the platform. The stainless steel threading in here is rather nice. This is a kind of cool feature here, this hook here. You can take this provided latch right here that they gave you and you just kind of hook it in. The weird thing is I wish they would have made this part a little skinnier so this could flop around a little more. It kind of feels like if I hook it on to something and I apply too much pressure that part’s going to break so I wish they would have made this skinnier or the hook part actually wider. That’s what I would have done in order for it to hook on better.

Now as I said before, this is waterproof and shockproof. This rubber piece comes off and you can buy different ones of different colors. This is what looks like with the rubber piece off. I’m sure you could rock it that way but why would you? Here is your micro USB port. You have a reset button over here that you could hit with a paperclip if you have to. Plus and minus button, screen, fire button. On the back side, these are your buttons to control your audio player. I went over them already while the skin was on.

One cool thing Wismec did was they included some other skins with it. This is like the orange and yellow one. They also sent me a camo one which I’m really kind of digging and then they also included this, like, teal greenish yellowish type of one. They’re all kind of cool. I’ve been rocking the black and the camo but I think it looks kind of cool with the camo in the orange. I’ve been rocking it this way. I’ve been rocking it with the black. The orange one doesn’t look bad either. I’ll show it to you, goes on pretty simply. Definitely has some shock proof to it. I’ve thrown this thing across the room and nothing has happened to it. Now, like I said before, you put it in water. You want to make sure that plug is in there all the time now.

Menu System

In order to turn this mod on, 1 2 3 4 5, 5 clicks on. Same, typical Wismec menu, 1 2 3. Right now we can scroll between wattage, bypass, temperature, Ni temperature, Ti temperature, SS, m1, m2, m3 and back to wattage mode. Wattage mode, you’ll see, you have your resistance there, your voltage there, your amps there, that is your battery bar right there and that’s the watts that you’re in. 1 2 3, let’s take it into temperature control mode. Temperature control mode, you can scroll up or down, it does round robin. If you want to change the wattage, four clicks and now you can change the wattage in TC up or down.

Wismec Active Kit Review

Like I said, typical Wismec menu and it’s unfortunately, it’s got typical Wismec TC. It’s really not that good. If you hit the plus and fire button together, you’ll see you can change your sub power between amps, puffs seconds, I normally keep it on amps. If you hit your minus and fire button together, you can turn stealth mode on. There we go, stealth mode off. 1 2 3 4 5 clicks and it’s off. Hit the plus and fire button together, you can go into your M1 through M3 settings. You can do your preheat and the amount you want your preheat to be on. Hit the minus and fire button together and it’ll show you what your batteries doing. Five clicks on, hit the plus and minus button together and it locks the keys.

In order to connect to speaker, you hold the power button on over here. You’ll hear that, you hear that little chime? And now let me show you what the speaker does. Not bad, right? That’s it cranked up as loud as it goes. It’s really not a bad speaker, it’s definitely better than the speaker on your phone, that’s for sure and you can vape while listening to music.

Water Test

You see, they also say it’s waterproof and you can play the speaker while it’s on the water so let’s check that out. I got a bucket of water right here, not bad man. It’s playing underwater, you hear it. You can see it. Look at that, it’s definitely playing underwater. That is definitely kind of cool.

Alright, everybody! Check this out. This is 24 hours later, after the water test. This battery is fully charged but notice, it’s not showing a charge. It will not turn off. Look at that, 1 2 3 4 5, it will not turn off. I cannot adjust it up or down. You see me pressing the buttons? The wattage is not moving and check this out, when I factory reset it with the factory reset button here, watch this. No jump-cuts, not touching the buttons. Look at that. I don’t know what to say. You guys saw when I did the water test. I had that plug totally sealed. My thing is, I think water actually got in through to 510 or something because it’s or maybe through to speaker somewhere but you can see the condensation in there. Look, see that? That’s all condensation in there. So all I can tell you is this water test was a total fail.

Let’s cut back on top, let’s talk about it and then we’re out of here.

General Thoughts

Alright, everyone! We’re back on top with the Wismec Active kit. You saw it down low, man. This thing’s a total fail. I can’t even believe it. Now you noticed in the beginning of the video, I didn’t chuck a cloud like I normally do. You know why? Because I couldn’t. It failed the water test. I had all kinds of cons and pros that I was going to go over because I used it for about two weeks before I actually did the water test on camera and I’m going to scrap all of them because I gotta tell you this is a do-not-buy. We’re chucking up the deuces to this one because how could I, in good conscience, recommend it when I can’t even vape on it on camera because it broke 24 hours after I put it in water. Wismec, I don’t know what you guys are doing, man. I really don’t. You guys, it seems like you have lost your way from your glory days because lately, the stuff that you’ve been coming out with is just garbage. This is total garbage. You said it was waterproof. You saw I had the thing sealed up. I had the USB port sealed up. I dropped it in the water on camera and this thing is busted now.

Wismec Active Kit Review

And that’s another thing, Wismec. You’re one of the only companies that only send one mod. Now listen, most of the time when I get sent multiple mods, 90% of the times, I’ll take those other mods and put them in a giveaway. You guys that watch this channel know that. Wismec only sent me one so now I don’t know if this is just a one-off, if this is just a freak accident and the mod got saturated inside or if it’s a problem along your whole line. If you would have sent me another one that I could have used in a giveaway, if this one would have survived the water test, then I would be able to tell you. I would be able to come on camera and say: “Hey, I had two of these. One didn’t survive the water test, one did. So it looks like I may have gotten a bad one.” I can’t even say that on this mod right now because all I got was one and it did not survive the water test. So I’m going to have to give this mod a total fail.

Wismec, you got to go back to the drawing board. You gotta fix it. You gotta start coming up with some better stuff. This has been going on for years now. Your TC is horrible. For years, you were putting in those crappy 510s. It seems you kind of fix that then you went back to it. You guys really got to get on the ball because this is not a good thing. If this thing can’t survive a little submersion in a little bucket of water, you can’t advertise it as waterproof.

That’s it, man. I’m done with this thing. We’re chucking up the deuces to it. It’s out of here, I’m out too. You guys keep living at vapelife. We’re out of here. We’ll see you on the next one. Deuces.
